Poor? Or a Payoff?

Kim Foxxx is broke. Kim says so. Prickwrinkle says so. It must be true because politicians never lie.

But what's this?
  • The civil bureau of the State's Attorney's office laid off two experienced ASAs including one who was the previous Chief of the bureau. At the same time, the new Chief of the Civil Bureau has retained his former law firm to try a case in federal court for $500 per hour. This case could readily be handled by the staff assistant state's attorneys. How can the County cry poor mouth and let the SA's office hire private firms at $500 per hour to do their work?
Too bad there aren't any actual investigative reporters around to look into things like this.

Maybe there's an Assistant US Attorney looking to get some public corruption cases started?

The liberal media in this country simply aren't doing their jobs, and are completely one sided. That's why President Trump calls them "fake news" because that's what they have become!

The State's Attorney's Office has long been run as a private law firm only at public expense.

Actual investigative reporters? You've got a better chance of seeing a unicorn in this city/county than of seeing an actual investigative reporter.

Tom Dart was bitching that Workers Comp claims have tripled under his watch to over 12 million a year. His beef was the States Attorney wasn't able to properly investigate the claims and just settled because of high case loads. My question to the almighty Sheriff is why cant the 100 lawyers on your payroll investigate the claims????? Also you think its possible the claims have tripled because attacks on your guards have also tripled. DUH....... Your not the brightest star are you Tommy.

Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan pulled this crap during the big settlement with the tobacco companies. The master agreement between all the states and the tobacco companies was hammered out, mostly by New York. All Illinois had to do was add the word "Illinois" to the master agreement and sign on, along with all the other states. Simple enough. But Ryan said no one in his 300 lawyer agency was capable enough. So he hired the law firm of Freeborn Peters to do it. The firm got paid $400,000,000. No exaggerating. Even the Crook Co judge who saw this said it was outrageous. Lots of Ryan's connected friends got rich. My guess is that lots got kicked back to campaign war chests, too.

The lay offs will be anybody who has thought of running for office as the States Attorney.

KIMMY will then in a short period begin hiring People PRIC-WRINKLE says to hire.

Do you honestly think KIMMY wants people around her that actually know the law?

The lazy media has not FOIA the list of person being laid off yet TOO much work?

Anybody wanna guess the majority of the color the county workers being laid off are and what WARD has the highest people fired?

Seems like Ms. Foxx is admitting there's nobody smart enough in her office to handle a court case. No wonder she won't prosecute anyone, it might involve going to court!
Time to get rid of the dumbasses passed long ago, but in this case, better late than never.

At over two decades, been sued a few times. One time I asked why the Corp Counsel moved to a private firm and why were we seeing (them, note a team of attorneys left CC) and lawyer said that the city wanted knowledgeable to maintain their cases for continuity. So these attorneys left a job with the city getting paid under 50k but once they amassed a huge caseload, left for a private firm now making almost 200k. That connected law firm seeks out overworked CC attorneys bc they know that caseload will come with guaranteeing them millions in fees for cases that almost certainly will be settled, but only after years of billing.

There is a reason why people are fed up with taxes, corruption, or mere stupidity. Government does a lousy job at running things.

media, city, county and state are all too cozy with each other. True investigative reporting takes a lot of tenacity, digging and keeping at a story. Todays media only wants short fast stories or cutesy shit. Reporting in this city is dead. Just look at the new make-up of owners at the Sun Times. They already have said it's a money losing deal. If they had any balls, they turn their reporters loose and watch the number of papers sold rise.

In case no one noticed, a former Supervisor in the States Attorney Office who was the Supervisor who disciplined Kim Foxx when she was a Assistant was fired recently. This former Supervisor, who herself is also a Female Black was quoted as saying at the time, "Foxx was one of the laziest employee she as ever seen". However, even way back then, little Kimmy had her clout and was transferred from the unit she was assigned. This is a loss for the States Attorneys Office. This particular person was a real stand up prosecutor who was always looking out not only for the citizens of this county but for the Police.

Was this covered before or did I miss it? Foxx on WBEZ

The good stuff starts right around 14:00. Foxx thinks that Murder is a Class X. That agg batt with a firearm is a Class 1. Doesn't understand lesser included offenses. Agg Batt is not a lesser included offense to murder. Murder is a general intent crime and agg batt is a specific intent crime. I could go on. Shocking what she doesn't know.

This rates its own post if it hasn't been covered.

From the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin December 6, 2016:

Kim Foxx's executive staff: Read Closely...

"Eric H. Sussman, a partner at Paul Hastings LLP, will be Foxx’s first assistant state’s attorney. Sussman is a former federal prosecutor who handled white-collar criminal cases. He is married to Cook County Circuit Judge Carrie E. Hamilton, a fellow former prosecutor.

April M. Perry will join the office Jan. 1 as Foxx’s chief deputy and the office’s chief ethics officer. As an assistant U.S. attorney, Perry argued before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that former Chicago police commander Jon Burge had lied about the torture regime he led in the department.

Jennifer M. Ballard, a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, will also pull double duty as Foxx’s chief of staff and the office’s diversity officer. Ballard, who handled employment law matters for clients including Law Bulletin Publishing Company, placed second in a six-way Democratic primary race for a vacancy in the 7th Judicial Subcircuit in March.

Kathleen A. Hill, a senior policy adviser for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office, will become the office’s director of policy, research and development. Prior to that, she was an assistant state appellate defender and an attorney at Loevy & Loevy — a firm that handles civil rights and police-misconduct litigation."

Lol fox fight for her employees at the expense of her employer? This was all planned. Look who left. A bunch of grade 11s with ties to people who were on the last executive staff and someone who gave Foxx a bad evaluation. This round was personal and would have been done in January but it would have looked bad.
