Is There an Accountant in the House?

You'd think the media - the part that isn't the propaganda arm of the Machine - might be interested in figuring out exactly where so much tax money gets pissed away. They'd have a field day with crap like this:
  • The following description is copied right off the Cook County Government web site:

"The DUI Memorial Program is offered in Cook County to provide families an opportunity to safely commemorate a loved one who died as a proximate result of a crash caused by an impaired driver under the influence of alcohol, other drug or drugs, intoxicating compound or compounds, or any combination thereof, as well as to raise the public’s awareness of the consequences of driving while impaired under the influence.

"Under this program, a DUI Memorial Marker may be installed and maintained by the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (Department) for a period of at least two years for fatal crashes which occurred on or after January 1, 1990.

"A DUI Memorial Marker consists of a Sign, and Plaque (optional), which will normally be installed and maintained by the Department at or near the location of the crash. An immediate relative of a deceased individual of a crash caused by a driver found to be under the influence of alcohol, other drug or drugs, intoxicating compound or compounds, or any combination thereof, may apply for a DUI Memorial Marker through this program by submitting an official application form to the Department."

Relatives of the deceased pay for the Markerand Plaque. However, the county Department Of Transportation And Highways pays for the installation and maintenance of the marker and plaque and county employees have to process and approve the requests. The County Treasurer's office has to process the payment for the signs. The County also employs a Roadside Memorial Coordinator to manage entire program.

The entire program involves a Coordinator and employees from multiple County Departments and yet the entire program has little or no value to the taxpayers who must support it. This is merely an example of the kind of waste in Cook County Government that has contributed to the layoffs of some county employees who are actually doing the taxpayer's work.
Something like this pops up when politicians don't want to cut spending, but are actively looking for some way to spend "leftover" money instead of returning it to taxpayers. And this is only one example among thousands in the County (and City) budgets, and it's been going on for decades.

From the comment sections, we also hear that Foxxx just hired five more lawyers while dozens received layoff notices. We aren't sure how that works - there must be politics involved somehow - but when times are tight, hiring goes out the window and the lowest seniority people (or folks) are the ones sweating the pink slips. And that's not even asking if it's true she has a "Director of Ethics," a "Deputy Director of Ethics," a "Director of Diversity" and a "Deputy Director of Diversity." Does anyone know? Are they being laid off? Is the County (and Chicago) budgets on line so a friendly accountant can look at some of this preposterous (and corrupt) spending that goes on?

You know how everyone wants the police under some decree where a federal judge monitors every move? Is there a way we can get the city and county politicians under some type of monitoring, where their every move has to be approved by someone? Someone to say "no" to a stadium for a private school, or "no" to programs described in this post?! Waste beyond waste of money, but no one ever puts a dime into the depleted pensions.

No one with any balls will ask these and other important questions. John Kass has been on vacation for the past few years. Maybe once his suburban home is finished flooding he can comment on this Chicago has money, it just takes a leader to stop the theft. Let's continue further. How is it a non-college educated person who works out of a office pull down 100k? Should not happen. I can see plumbers, electricians, sewer workers, etc. But you work in a office, in meetings all day and you are not even the boss? 100k or more? Start cutting right there. Many of the free social programs can be cut because no one uses them. And lastly, eliminate pensions for politicians Taxwinkle gets like 3 pensions on top of a generous salary currently. So does Susan Mendonza. Why is this legal? And there is a guy in Water Management who is a full time employee but a part time politician. When does he have time to become a politician, at lunch?

Stop looking for the media to report on anything that isn't leftist propaganda, Trumpbashing related, or has a youtube or internet video involved. Newsgathering, reporting, and the "media" as we knew it is dead. The only time I SEE a print newspaper let alone read one, is my monthly trip to the barber shop, and then I know why it's only 20 or so pages. Local tv news outlets are, and have long been, a well known joke only good for catching the latest eye candy they've hired to try to outdo the competition. This latest example of government waste by a government gone broke screams for coverage and commentary by every news outlet in the country, but will probably never see the light of day except for some "insignificant" blog visited only by racist, disgruntled coppers and their supporters (sarcasm). Time for the torches and pitchforks. Take the government back.

John Kass loves politicians who kiss his ass. Daley and Rahm would never do that. I listened to Touchtown Tommy Dart on Kass "radio broadcast" about a month ago. Kass and whoever his side kick mocked little Tommy the entire show with his chicken farms/botanical gardens and all his crazy grandstanding he does. Then as he mocked him he kept telling Dart how much he liked him. I kept thinking to myself what the hell could this RHINO like about little Tommy. I wonder if Kass would change his mind if one of Dart's EM AWOL criminals victimizes one of his family members. That was the last time I ever listened to that low rated radio show.

I wonder if this is all a social experiment and were all left in the dark. I often wonder if Preckwinkle, Dart, and Fox made a wager on how fast they could turn Chicago into Detroit. The bet was likely a dollar ala movie Trading Places. The payoff is these three communists can watch the city burn.

Hey media trolls... Remember when this was sold as a sugary drink tax (lie #1 since it covers all sorts of beverages) and Taxwinkle touted that the funds would only be for education of the public about the evils of sugary drinks (lie #2) and the associated health costs (lie #3)? Oh that's right, it would be actual reporting to bring such minute details up in an article about the BS threats of layoffs due to not getting this tax revenue.

Around here you see wooden crosses along the roads where someone died in a crash. They are made and put up by the relatives of the deceased. They take care of them and some add flowers several times a year. Some have been up and maintained for many years at no cost to the taxpayers. But in Crook county they use any excuse to fleece the taxpayers. '' Around here" is not in your fine state that I left in my rearview mirror years ago.

As 1:33 a.m. Produced the organizational chart, it is clear Foxx has created positions that never existed before. SCC you should also check out the fact that Foxx's new chief of the civil division has bypassed the attorneys in Civil who are very experienced and assigned a case to his former law firm at the rate of $500/hour. Foxx riffed 2 experienced Civil Bureau attorneys on Friday yet, she has apparently approved the use of outside counsel for far more than it would cost to handle the case in house.

Someone told me that Cook County rents a building on West Walnut that house the home monitoring program at a cost of $6 million a year, there may be 100 Probation Officers, assigned there and a place to park cars. Could some one from media check this out? These Probation officers could report to other locations and same some money. I believe the building is just west of Western at Walnut.

DUI is a joke in Cook County.
Repeat offenders, repeat killers and now Sanctuary policies where offenders drive away after the I-bond.
Some trials taking years to conclude and very few ever see the inside of an empty jail.
As for Big Government -
Don't forget all the Directors have a bloated staff.
Then the Dep. Director has a bloated staff.
Then there's Asst. Dep. Director with a staff, a Admininstrative Manager, Asst. Manager, Senior Business Manager, Asst. to the Assistant General Operations Manager, etc. all with underlings.
Probably 6 layers of mid-management below the Directors before your get to the low level hourly employee.

There are a hundred ways to Sunday when it comes to reducing the budget of Cook Co.
But Democrat Cook County always finds a way to hire the cronies.

If they are laying off because of the soda tax denied how were we paying these people in the first place. Show me where that money was coming from. How about a forensic look it the city, county and state books. The first question the politicians would be asking is which countries have no extradition treaty.

Wow, add this one to the list of wasted tax money. DUI memorial? We have to raise money and fund our own memorial but they have money for DUI victims' memorial??? Hey, if this fucking joke of a county and city actually prosecuted and jailed these asshole drunks there wouldn't need to be a memorial for victims because they'd still be alive! If the judges started hammering the offenders instead of the officers who arrest them, maybe they could have saved more people from being killed. We had a proficient DUI officer on midnights in the old 23rd district who has since passed - may he rest in peace. He caught many a bad drunk on the road and he was rewarded by being sued by some entitled rich asshole who turned the case into some high profile media shit-on-the police news story. He was eventually exonerated but it was another example and warning for any officer who does his job a little too well. We don't need memorials- we need more officers like that and a court system that supports them instead of making excuses for these jag off alcoholics with lead feet.

Kim Foxx needs HEP! Now this may seem 'far out' but the idea will grow on you. There is a man who once faithfully served as an ASA. Experienced in matters of budgets and administration and he has successfully taken on the established bureaucracy. He is available. Educated as an attorney he has been lately been performing music and giving back to society. He is 'tan....rested....and ready!' Also, he would probably work for free. Bring back BLAGO!!!

Who's paying the bills for all that"free" care at Cook county Hospital? Who pays the illegal immigrant's bills ? Who pays for the person who lives outside cook county and comes for free care? If you live in Kane County and receive free care at CC Hospital, done s Kane County foot the bill?

Why is the Cook County taxpayer paying for everyone who shows up at the county hospital doorstep?

Why isn't there an "investigative" reporter looking into this ?

Its called baseline budgeting.
The same money spent last year is automatically within next years budget. If there was loot left last year, well, then the budget was too high and either stays the same or it is lessened to that amount spent.

That ensures GROWTH,which is what democrats think is good and great...growing the economy.
