Summer is in full swing. How can we tell? The countdown clock over at HeyJackass.com has started marching downward in terms of how often some gets shot and how often someone gets murdered.
July is averaging over two homicides per day, this past week being particular bloody, with almost an additional eight shot per day.
And there are still quite a few summer weekends on tap.

Late yesterday the news reported on WLS 890 rdio made the comment that the only rain Chicago was seeing on Friday was "raining blood". He then listed every homicide and shooting that had occurred.

How is it acceptable on any means for someone to get shot and murdered everyday, shouldn't at all be acceptable, but in Chicago it is for several a day shot and murdered with absolutely no media or political attention. The shot clock is looking at the entire year which includes the crime is down month of May. Looking at just July through 6a this morning, the homicide part of the clock is coming in at 9 hours, 15 minutes.
Overall, this July to date is sitting at 37 homicides versus last July's 23. Shot and wounded is trending higher too, 176 vs 161, which hasn't been the case for much of this year. We're looking at another 80+ homicide, 450+ shot month.
