Working on the Railroad
- The special prosecutor who last month charged three Chicago Police officers in a conspiracy to cover up for the cop who shot Laquan McDonald has asked to replace a controversial judge who was assigned to hear the landmark case.
Special Prosecutor Patricia Brown Holmes, a former judge and federal prosecutor, on Thursday filed a motion to swap Cook County Judge Diane Gordon Cannon for another judge.
State law allows prosecutors to ask to substitute a judge they deem prejudiced against a case, without having to specify the reasons, within 10 days after the case is assigned.
Just trying to get the "right" judge so as to meet a political end.

Watching Patricia Brown Holmes on the tellie shows her to be quite enjoying her 15 minutes of fame. The minutes expended so far have all been spent going above and beyond to do her level best to stick it to Whitey.

It's okay. The new wave of elected judges are not going by the law set on the books they studied in law school and are making ridiculous rulings based on personal agendas. Gun offenders and plain criminals are now being let go left and right. It is shameful that these new judges don't care to be fair and impartial. These new judges are going themselves to great lengths to throw out cases and find very guilty people, not guilty. Scary time folks. Not a good time for victims. In Chicago, criminals currently reign. Careful out there. The FPO should visit courtrooms to see what the officers are encountering with these new judges.
Will someone get Rahm on the stand and simply ask him when he saw the fucking video, and then ask the top police brass after they viewed it how come they said nothing or simply agreed and if so why? Deal with the consequences so the public knows the deal. And the City Council needs to stop cutting checks if the shoot is considered legal This is better than life insurance.
All judges are not equal.
Does the defense have the same rights?
The community activists and the leftist media in this town will cry judge shopping by the prosecution. But why let laws get in the way of ginning up outrage.

She's afraid this judge might be fair and impartial..... she feels that would hurt her chances of completing the railroad job on VanDyke and the other coppers.
Remember "the community" must be appeased and placated.
Maybe alderfuk Burke can put in the fix for this case like he used to do with the operation gambat judges in the good ol' days.

I really don't think that the actual community gives a fuck. The media and politicians darlings have to be appeased. BLM, the chubby reverends, future mayor alderpeople, and the leader of the PAC and shit show emcee, the great, in his own mind, fr. Flaker.....
It gets even more disgusting when you see it all presented on tv news. That's real justice... Shame that Trump and his people won't even fly over Chicago. It seems that there are no lifelines for the good people that are constantly getting fucked over!
She is the right judge. The Special Prosecutor is looking for a rubber stamp.
Re: switching
Reminds me of the Al Capone tax case.
Eddie O'Hare contacted Frank Wilson with info that

list (which was corrupted). Judge James H. Wilkerson
intervened and chose each new jury member from another
panel (largely elderly, poor, laborers from outside Chicago
who never heard of Capone, and were itching to get out of
the big city circus). Capone was convicted by the new jury.
Is there a possibility one judge in Cook County might give these Officers a fair trial? Damn! Can't have that kind of shit happening! A judge like that might want to know why a shooting ruled "justified" is now in court. That could open a whole other can of worms! Can't have the public learning about all the politics crammed into their police department.

It would'nt surprise me if Rahm was called to testify when you saw the video and he sudenly had a stroke, seizure, high blood sugar attack - something that'll erase his ability to remember...

Yes-Normally, and in 98% of cases--motions to substitute judge are filed by the defense. The CCSAO rarely files such a motions--Certain ultra-liberal judges who cannot say "Guilty" are the exception.

She is not a loon. She would have conducted a fair trial. You could not ask for a better judge. Been around 26th street for Many, many years.
JV will beat the case but loose the job No Judge will find him guilty
