Another Dead Kid

As of 0700 hours Sunday, Chicago had already passed 2016, 2015 and 2014 for total weekend homicides:
  • 7:00a Shoot-o-Rahm-a Tally: 11 killed, 41 wounded
    2016 weekend tally: 8 killed, 55 wounded
    2015 weekend tally: 10 killed, 34 wounded
    2014 weekend tally: 5 killed, 45 wounded
But you know that the tame media is going to tout the "shootings are down" narrative. Harder to explain is this one:
  • He would’ve started the fourth grade this fall.

About halfway through summer break, Gustavo Garcia was already looking forward to school starting back up at Arnold Mireles Academy.

β€œHe liked to play with his classmates,” said Andrew Holmes, a community activist who spent Sunday morning at the Cook County morgue with Gustavo's mother and stepfather. They had to officially identify the boy who was shot to death while riding in a car with his stepdad about 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 3500 block of East 97th Street, Holmes said.
The latest in a long line of child homicides that cry out for longer prison sentences and a return of the death penalty.

First reaction?

Who cares?

It is sad that many have gotten so tired of the violence in Chicago, that it has gotten us to a point of societal apathy when there is an announcement about some poor kid getting shot.

Nothing is really being done to curb real criminals and violence in the city. There are the phonies trying to make a buck off of it by suing the City.

So another kid gets shot? Who cares?

I'm sorry to admit this, but these shootings don't even phase me anymore. It's like reading the weather report now. "40 percent chance of rain, high of 82 degrees, 50 people shot, including a dead 9 year old, etc etc." I probably won't care again unless it's someone I know.

I think this is what they want. A voting bloc of people who don't care anymore. Maybe it's working. Maybe this way it will be easier to get voted back in.

Not even the murdering of a child is enough for young gangbangers to give up the life.

No death penalty and all the shooters are allowed to plea down to a lesser offense so that they are out before their 50th birthday. Great criminal justice/penal system. The lives of innocent people are cheap compared to the sacred lives of criminals that the SJW save.

We are outpacing last year's record increase of rahmicides and not a peep from the mayor. He figured out that his crocodile tears and useless proclamations of "totally unacceptable" have worn thin. He owns every bit of this but will never accept responsibility. The best part for him is that he has a compliant media.

I don't get it, it doesn't make any sense! I thought all these officers sitting in boxes for the entire tour was supposed to stop all this carnage
We have a black superintendent, wasn't he put in place to better understand the community? It doesn't seem to be working
Why is there no city council meetings regarding a replacement? Is it because he's black?!
Don't worry .... keep paying me time and a half to sit in a ridiculous box all night

Who cares anymore? They're just numbers adding up and is this year going to be higher than last year, blah, blah, blah. It's a sanctuary city for criminals and illegal aliens, what did you think was going to happen?
Yeah, you really need a death penalty, more importantly, you need to use it! Every weekend right inside the city limits for all to see. Sending an unknown asshole off to prison to sit for 20 years, to be forgotten before he's finally executed isn't going to work. Or some liberal judge decides to over rule a jury of 12 peers and set said asshole free. That won't work. The death penalty has to be used to be effective. And fuck those damn lawyers that "Just don't believe it's right".

Wheres Jesse? Oh wait sittin back with his fucked up son planning on what office to run and steal from next. Where's Jamal? Oh that's right, its not a police involved shooting so it doesn't matter, besides he was on his Obama phone shootin the shit with Fast Eddie. Funny..any other city probably would be holding emergency meetings with the amount of violence and how to curb it but not us, were to worried about how to fuck the boys in blue and planning on future de escalation classes parts 2-20. ISR classes 2-30. Use of force classes 2-40. At least the academy group has job security! Get ready for more boring scenarios. snore

I was just looking at the murder rate per 100,000 residents in the cities of Baltimore and St. louis. It is bad enough in Chicago, but if we had those cities murder rates our murder totals would be around 1800 per year. i have a sneaking suspicion that we are headed in that directio ( up).

Sounds to me like somebody wanted to kill the step-fathers friend real bad......

"The stepdad’s friend, a 31-year-old man, was shot four times: once in the face, once in the chest and twice in the back. The man remains in critical condition, Holmes said."

Nobody is mentioning his name.......

And don't forget about Officer Jagalowski and his partner, who were under fire and drove their squad car to the fallen officers and removed them from the scene. All the while Jagalowski was returning fire with the department shotgun. In a statement, Officer Jagalowski said he was surprised of he was able to hit the 10th story window where he observed the shooter. It was also noted, all of the Area Task Forces were mobilized and an emergency was called. During that emergency, the Task Force Officers searched the entire building looking for the Offender(s) and weapon(s). Anyone who refused to open their apartment door, it was breached and the occupants were arrested for disobeying a police order. The officers from Area #6 Task Force (SEVERIN AND RIZZATO) were on a Walk and Talk Program and were unarmed in the baseball field with kids from the projects organizing a baseball game. Armed or unarmed would not have made a difference, the shooter knew the officers would be playing baseball with the kids and the time they would be in the field. The Walk and Talk Program was discontinued soon after this police shooting. Looking back, these Task Force Officers were the best the department had at the time. They and there Supervisors were dedicated to the mission, were feared and respected at the same time.

I remember the incident, wow its been 47 years. I was in 18 and we were used for the outer perimeter of the task force operation. I'll tell you this, it was like a military operation, task force had three of their own snipers on the school roof across the street while they searched the building from top to bottom. The rifle used was recovered in the buildings garbage area. The States Attorney's Office had ASA's on the scene and they were armed. Absent were the Inspectors, political Dup Chiefs and the like; they like today's merit bosses are incompetent and were ordered in some cases off the scene. RIP Severin and Rizzato

Can't believe its been that long. I just transferred into Area #4 Task Force form the 11th dist. and was on the scene during the search for the gun and offender. I witnessed some of the best of the best that day. When I made the move to Area Four TF, I wasn't sure I did the right thing. After working the scene with those officers that day, I knew right there and then, I made the best decision of my life. Two of our own were shot and killed and the effort that was displayed made me very proud to be part of the Task Force and a Chicago Police Officer. I knew Rizzato's brother who was also a Chicago Police Officer, it was a very emotional time and thank you Area #6 Hom., for the heads up.

Its so common in this corrupt, mayhem carnage filled city-state-county! You turn on the radio in the morning you hear "great weather, 9 year old murdered" and we think nothing about it because it is acceptable with the elected in charge who really don't care at all as long as police did not do it, then the 24/7 dishonest fake news media is in full swing destroying the officers lives!

Then you have this in philly what type of people do this to the police:
http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2017/07/17/flash-mob-of-500-teens-confront-philly-police/

Oh never mind same type of out of control acting like animals, and the police chief says "no police were seriously injured by thrown bottles" The chief let them destroy police vehicles, and did nothing hey chief this just emboldens the savages more and more great job protecting your officers! Now the jagoffs watch this on social media and plan and plan this chaos and mayhem! Instead of staying there and letting the animals destroy city property and hurt coppers why not since he did nothing order coppers to leave the area?

They call this a "flash mob" come on media more like a riot correct? The flash mobs are people that come to together to sing, or stage a wedding proposal this is plain and simple animal acts!

Veal and Knights fired the fatal sniper fire from a 6th floor bathroom window at 1150 N. Sedgwick St. Not the 10th floor.

Both officers were alone and armed walking in the ball field when they were murdered. Their revolvers were HOLSTERED. There were no other persons (including children) on the field.

Finally, I believe the "FACTS" are now accurately listed in this polite post of correction and information(7/19/2017 01:38:00 PM)by someone who was involved and simply wanted 'respect and accuracy' for those involved and listed here for posterity. Thank You! (JN)
I think the name (Greg) 'Jaglowski' was merely confused with the similar sounding name (Denny) 'Jurkowski' in that BOTH were heroes in the annuls of Chicago Police History. Dennis, for his brave actions summarized above and Greg for his shootout with an offender on 22 September,1988.In summary of that latter incident, Greg 'Jaglowski' and his partner Irma RUIZ confronted a crazed individual who already had killed three people and entered the Montefeore School and engaged him in a near face to face shoot out. Irma was wounded and tragically died from the wounds in her brave endeavor. Greg, although struck twice in the lower torso during the firefight, continued to return fire subsequently killing the offender.
Although this informational post will probably appear down the line, out of review from the more current topics on SCC, let it be known and forever honored the many brave men and women who have earned the revered title as, "Chicago's Finest"
Rest in Peace, Sgt. James Severin, Police Officer Anthony Rizzato, Lieutenant Dennis Jurkowski and Detective Irma Ruiz.
Your sacrifice and dedication will be, "Always Remembered."
