We certainly hope this isn't true:
- Fresh off a clout-disaster promotional scandal, kevin Navarro is making moves to slip into the superintendents job when Eddie gets his transplant by sucking up to none other than Kim Foxx to curry favor with the black politicians.
That's right Kevin has a PO from detached services working full time as Foxx's driver because she wants a "real police bodyguard." That's a full salary of a CHICAGO policeman going as a gift to Kimmy who has lots of armed county investigators to protect her. But she wanted to feel real street tough, and dumbo kev is too stupid to know she is not a City elected official. Been going on for months. Oops. Scoop it, slumtimes. A FOIA will prove we've been paying City money that could be manning a beat car since 2 weeks after she took office.
Maybe Foxxx's people got laid off without the soda money?

In the past, most of the Cook County States's Attorney investigators were Chicago Police officers detailed to the County. I believe that stopped sometime in the 90's. That job was and remains so a " hideout job" where there is little to do, nice pay and a car and in 10 years a pension from the county.You need to be well connected to get this job. patronage at its finest. The county has found many ways to get around Shakeman.
The pop tax that's needed to give all of Toni's people their raises.

Is this the accident where his lackeys, known in 004 as "The Steves," backed his version of the story (which exonerated him) and gained his unending gratitude because of it? For years these two worked an "aldermanic car," and their only job was to keeo the aldermen of the 4th District happy. They made their own hours, didn't even come to work if they felt like taking the day off (no slip), and were never subject to radio calls, all while the watches were desperate for manpower. Their biggest assignment on any given day was to make sure to get the commander's lunch. The nonsense continues under Sanchez, as one of the boys was recently given a merit sergeant promotion and then he was brought right back to 004 on the second watch. How do you get a merit promotion when you have zero activity to show for it? Answer: When the person you helped out is now the first deputy, activity and accountability means nothing.

There have always been drivers for the supe, the 1st, the city treasurer, and the city clerk. Prior to that for the chairman of the finance committee of city council (Ed Burke). All city offices because it's city money. Anita had sworn investigators paid by the county. Because she's a county employee. Kevin clearly never took a class in government.

These are drivers,errand runners and status symbols for the elite. Some are Officers with a call who see an easy gig and many are retired guys who are collecting a pension...or two. Most treat it like many treat a side job and just coast. The politicians love to tell their friends they have "armed Police" and like the fact that "Their bodyguard" will back off a piss bum panhandler if need be. The rest of the time the guy's a gopher. I worked personal protection services and crossed paths with many of these security details.I would often see these "bodyguards" treated like assholes by the person they were with. It is a political job that pays the same as a beat car in dogassville or a great job to go along with the pension if you are O/K being an errand boy who picks up dry cleaning and knowing if you ever refused and said I'm here to protect you not get your car washed you'd be fired. It is status for the politician and a great title for the public to agree to fund. Most of them were retired and would want to nod off or duck for awhile when possible. I had many a good time observing them and loved the Real Police back in the day war stories. CPD has numerous P/O's, Detectives and Sgts. detailed to outside agencies. They act as liasons as well as supplementing the agencies own members. States Attorney's Devine and Alvarez both had a 007 District P/O detailed to them. The CPD member not only supplements the States Attorneys own security detail, but works between both agencies to ensure security for the States Attorney as they go about their duties in the Chicago area. This is certainly not an unusual or sinister accommadation being made between the two government agencies.
This does not seem like it is a "story" in any way at all!

So you are saying that this obviously on-duty law enforcement officer took the proper steps to gain authorization to conduct her on-duty responsibilities within the venue. That makes it sound like those law enforcement officers take their job seriously and professionally and get the approvals which they need at the locations they visit. It is nice to see such professionalism still exists!
Elected officials are accorded such protection, and being in a venue with such large and diverse crowds would seem to require some type of protection. The protection detail which you describe seems to be minimum at best. Have you ever seen the large contingent which accompany the mayor. He does not even deal with the prosecution of dangerous criminals!
To any idiot on here trying to justify this you are a moron. In a addition to sheriff deputies they also have sheriff's police. It makes no sense why she wouldn't use someone from the county payroll. Especially since her duties often times take her out of Chicago.

On duty security details generally have permission to go armed into venues and other areas as part of their function, even when off duty carry is restricted. Nothing unusal there.

Former City Clerk Mendoza could have had the detail, she cancelled the CPD detail when she was sworn in, you should know the facts prior to posting. Do not know if the current City Clerk has brought the CPD detail back.
04:57pm - Not defending Burke but his retired officers are deputized for legal purposes since IROCC does not allow you to work as armed security, IROCC is strictly a self protection measure. At least Burke is not tying up active officers to staff his detail like Daley and other guarded politicos. The county does not pay his staff, the Sheriff merely swears them in. Foxx's driver is also deputized since Cabrini Kimesha now lives in Flossmoor. Both Foxx and Prickwrinkle should be shunned when they try to act as if they are pro police at the St. Jude parade. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I'll say this about the Steves as worked with both of them, what they do...do....they do very well. I never had to worry about them. They did so well that a 2nd watch LT keeps bitching about them EVEN after he retired! Haha. Kind of embarrassing if you ask me. Move on with your life boss...go to Florida.. take up a hobby, knitting seems like a good one for you. Old and miserable is no way to spend your golden years. :)

Well, it's nice to see you admitting that you're making up bullshit because you can't explain their "golden treatment." See that's been your problem the entire time LT... if you can't figure something out your default is to make shit up. Not a very good quality to have as a police officer, but you were never really a good one anyway. You fucked up every place you went. For god sakes you even got ran out of the court section... all you had to do was check people in and out and you found a way to fuck that up haha.
