Off topic SCC but I beard this on the radio on the way home yesterday and just now looked up the article. It seems two Republican State Reps from Naperville pushed a bill through Springfield to stop "double dipping" for retired police officers. I guess they had a guy retire from the police department, work for the city and then be appointed to the Chief of police spot. Then supposedly they were paying him and he was collecting a pension check both from Naperville. I believe he may have been attempting to earn a second pension. Seems odd same person attmepting to two pensions from the same fund. Anyway my point here is they drafted a bill and said any police officers in Illinois can not double dip and collect two pensions in any pension funds. So you retire from CPD and take a job in a suburban department no second pension, new city new job new pension fund. What I really dont understand is why do the morons single out police in the this bill. How about all these fricken heros on the fire side. And while we're at it how about teachers and lawmakers and anyone else who collects a defined retirement in the state of Illinois. Why is it open season on the police? How many of those law makers have two and three pensions? But hey dont worry about them nothing to see there.

When the man who's (theoretically) in charge of steering the ship which holds the lives and livelihoods of thousands of good officers allows control of that ship to be taken over by the likes of a mayor that hates us, fake clergy, BLM, the ACLU, COPA et al, all bets are off.
His contrived statements defending officers are almost nonexistent and his canned responses to injured officers seem to take form only because absolutely necessary. Let's set the record straight: Fathead Ed doesn't give a rats ass about anyone but Fathead Ed and his cheating ass fiancé and that they both stay unscathed from scandal long enough to collect their inflated, unearned pensions. Total shame, too, because Ed was a respectable man as a sergeant in Area 4.

On the health front agreed, as far as an earned gold braid pension of course baby G your being sarcastic! But the test cheating conspiracy took place in the past. The marriage is suppose to take place in the future, most probably before the surgery. There is no retroactive spousal privilege as a result of getting married.

He cornered me in the acaemy wanting to know if I knew who was sleeping with his ex wife. Tried to accuse me of knowing more then I was telling him.

The case you are referring to is the Naperville Chief of Police who retired from the police department some years ago. He received a pension from the Naperville Police Pension Fund. He did such a swell job as 'Chief' Naperville then hired him as the Asst. City Manager. Some years later he was promoted to, 'City Manager' for doing such a swell job as the Asst.
During this time he was paying into IL. Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) and receiving his police pension and a nice salary as the City Manager of Naperville. Some years later he went back to the Naperville Police Dept. as, 'Chief" because he did such a swell job as Naperville City Manager. He then was receiving a police pension and a nice salary as, 'Chief' He continued to pay into IMRF.
The State of IL. objected to this swell situation. This swell situation went through hearings with the Naperville Police Pension Board and the Courts. The Pension Board and the IL. Courts said that the Chief, by IL. State Statute was legally entitled to this swell situation. He has a swell police pension, a swell salary and a swell future pension with IMRF.
In defense of the Chief, he treats his troops very well and runs a good department. That is all.

I don't recall hearing about this in the new use of force class by Special Ed. Venecko who threw one punch was ruled enough to cause death or great bodily harm. So a person can be charged for that but a cop can't feel if fear for his life for the same thing and cannot protect himself from that. Good case law to back up your trr when the dept, the mayor and the media are trying to fuck you over. According to this any assailant can then be seen as an act that may cause death or great bodily harm. This was enough to charge someone for, so it should also be taught to the public that by doing so you should know that you are immediately considered a threat of death to the officer while doing so and will be subject to use of force that will protect the officer from receiving that death or great bodily harm. Otherwise if coppers can't protect themselves adequately, they are prone to get hurt or mentally impaired permanently. All this caused by the dept, and the mayor.

So, once she's on the street and the FTO tries to fail her because she is a "whackjob". One can expect him to threaten the FTO like before? GEEZ. Don't want her in my car. That goof ball SWAT Sgt was thrown out of SOS for harassing his ex and her FTO. This was back in 1998. Fred launched his ass the next day. He's continued to do this over the last 20 years. His victims are always recruits because they are impressionable. Someone should warn this PPO. Dept should inform this PPO of his past history with harassment and stalking.

I've been hearing about this dick head and his deranged behavior for over 20 years. While on duty he was stalking his gf and got into it with her partner that he accused of sleeping with her. He then smashes up a squad and lies about it during one of his "episodes". Then he did it again. Again. And again.
Blame the clout that protects nut jobs like this one.
