- In San Francisco, where no automobile parked on the street is immune from glass-smashing thieves, some people have taken to posting signs on car windows announcing that there are no valuables inside.
The hope, of course, is that a thief will read the notice and decide: "Huh. No valuables in this one.I guess I'll break into some other car."
On Tuesday, a Reddit user posted a photo of such a sign and posed the question "Do you think it works?" to the Reddit community. A lively debate ensued.
This is original? Has no one in San Francisco ever seen a taxi cab (Driver has less than $20) or a delivery truck (Driver carries no cash)? Has anyone seen how well the "Block Club" signs work so very well in impoverished "communities"? Do left coasters actually think that car burglars read? It's a crime of opportunity - see a purse, wallet, CD case, cupful of change, electronics, anything not nailed down that catches someones attention and ::poof:: it's gone, along with your window.
Maybe Rahm could print up a bunch of "No Carjacking" signs or maybe some "No Beating Up Old People" signs to put on the CTA. They'll work so well with his "No Guns" signs.

NO Guns signs on the CTA work. Law abiding folks leave their guns at home. Only the thugs carry guns on the CTA.
Wait these are liberals. They were discussing which font and color would be less offensive to the criminals. Also which languages to use since whole state is a sanctuary state. So many things to decide. How about just leaving door open so they can see for themselves. Why risk having to replace busted windows.

Hey, then here's a great idea: Let's make signs with a bar through a gun inside a red circle. We can place them conspicuously on the west side. This will let people know that guns are not allowed and they'll stop shooting each other.

Remember the aldercreatures in Chicago made it illegal to post a for sale sign in your own vehicle. You're subject to a ticket. So would a "please don't break into my car" sign also be illegal? The department of revenue gives you a ticket for the sign in your window and the car gets broken into anyway. Welcome to Shitcago where you get screwed by the criminals and the politicians.

How about you truly empty your car of all valuables and just leave the doors open. Let them rummage through and be on their way. But see these liberals need a "sign" they need to make a statement. They love signs and statements, "look at me I'm trying to make a difference!" When actually most people see their signs and say look at this idiot.

I used to love reading Block Club signs, especially the one stating "no loud horn blowing".
I guess "soft" horn blowing was o.k.
Maybe they can leave all the doors open to the car and place freshly baked cookies on the center console for the car theifs with the sign “take one if you don’t steal from me”. Or how about a t shirt that reads “please don’t rob me, I only have the iPhone 7”. Remember, the only way we’re going to get these liberal progressives back on our side is to hold back and expose them to the element we’ve been protecting them from for so long. It’s a very slow process, but it will work.
How about a sign that says, act like human beings and my favorite, nobody owes you shit.
If I was a thief and saw the sign in the car window, I would thing the opposite. "this mother fucker is playing me and he be hiding his shit in the car" Reverse psychology, or any psychology does not work with the usual suspects, because there is a serious moral deficiency within this group period.

Years ago a family member told me a story about a neighbor that put up a similar sign because his car had been broken into several times in a short period of time. Well, the car got broken into again with the sign in place. This time the thief wrote "just making sure" on the neighbor's no valuables here sign.

Years ago I was driving on the south side somewhere and saw a huge sign stretched across the street that said, "This is a gun-free neighborhood". Of course, that instantly communicated that it was a neighborhood with a serious gang shooting problem.
