Rumor popping up in the comment sections about two on-duty tactical teams detailed to Special Ed's wedding.
We can the Supernintendo of Police being a "target" of sorts, merely by the position he holds. Has anyone heard of a specific threat regarding the Accidental Superintendent?
Wouldn't it be better to break with some of that tall cash and pay some off-duty guys/gals who might like to rub elbows with the Department brass as security.

This better be a joke! 20 officers and 2 sgts on our tax dollars for what?! Those two can afford to hire off duty coppers. That would piss me off to no end if I had to work that detail.

hopefully that is not true.,,,and if it is there should be an investigation. you need security- ask the venue to provide (and pay the fee) or hire someone- but to use onduty officers is disgusting.

It's always something, that did not happen and the person who started the rumor probably wasn't invited and decided to spread the lie.

When Leroy Martin was the Sup, they had an annual " survivors ball". The exempts would wear their dress blues, white shirt and bow tie. A dozen or so female police officers who worked in HQ would don red dresses and serve as hostesses for the dance. They would announce each exempt and his/her date as they entered the ballroom , escort them to their table and serve drinks. These female police officers were not paid, but were " volunteers". That is if they wanted to keep their cushy job in HQ. This annual dance was held at the Conrad Hilton. I don't know if this occurred before or after Martin. I found it pretty disgusting.

The inspector general does not have the authority to investigate Chicago Police officers. We have law enforcement power, the IG does not, and only select individuals detailed to that office are sworn and armed. There may be no one left who is detailed, but their used to be. Any investigation has to be run by IAD, so you know what the result of that investigation will be. There is no criminal conduct so no other outside agency will investigat either. Its misuse of department resources, and yes there is actually a violation of or that, but it will never be sustained. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this wasn't the odea, or the request of Johnson, this has the touches of some suckhole underling (Chief/Dep Chief/Commander who had the brainstorm. I can think know a few who would do it, and are dumb enough to order it up, so speculate accordingly, this may be something g he was inappropriately given and not taken. I'm sure the dummies left the email breadcrumb trail that they are at this moment regretting. Unfortunately they're regretting the email chain and not the action itself, which when you think about it is pretty pathetic. Those two tactical teams were removed from duties to protect the little people. In the meantime a War on Women is being raged on progressive mothers in the Lincoln Square by the usual suspects.

To those that think the IG can't investigate Coppers, you are damn fools. How easily you forget the "Cheaters" investigation. The IG can, and will, investigate allegations of wrongdoing that pose a conflict of interest to the CPD, such as the noted Cheaters. This particular incident could, and would, be investigated by the IG but, who cares? Nothing to see here, now just move along.

That'll keep my cousin, the raging drunk, out, and then I suppose they can valet the cars, right? All at tax payer expense, of course.
