Lenient Judges

Are judges nationwide all this stupid? Or just the ones in blue cities?
  • The Yonkers cop who was shot in the face during an armed ambush Monday left the hospital to the cheers of fellow officers — as it emerged Tuesday that the teen who blasted her was free thanks to a Bronx judge’s leniency.

    [...]

...new disturbing details emerged about a court decision that allowed Valencia to remain free despite being caught with a large cache of weapons earlier this year.

According to the Bronx district attorney, Valencia had been released by a judge a week earlier in a case involving his possession of a semi-automatic handgun, 300 rounds of ammunitions — plus a machete and a set of brass knuckles.

Cops found the weapons on him when they stopped him on May 31 outside a White Castle on Fordham Road in The Bronx.

Because he was 17 at the time, Judge George Villegas of Bronx Supreme Court gave him a sweet deal at his Sept. 20 sentencing, in which he received only probation and youthful-offender status.
Maybe there's a school where morons go to get law degrees and run for States Attorneys and judge-ships?

The gun and ammo must have been planted on him. The machete was for harvesting the rich supply of sugarcane found in the Bronx. And the brass knuckles were for an Off-Off Broadway production of "West Side Story". See? All it takes is a little imagination and you too can be a qualified judge!

Maybe the copper who got shot by this asshole should file a civil suit against the judge. Not sure if it can be done, but it would be worth a try.

The judge was lenient. But the fact the article sights not the attack as a reason the perp should be held. Nope, but a handgun with 3 boxes of ammo, a machete, and brass knuckles is a "large cache" of weapons and that's why they should be held???

Modern journalism. Amazing.

But....but.....but... little Frankie **promised** the Judge those weapons and ammo weren't his -- some mean guy in a Pickup truck with a Confederate Flag on it made him hold them -- and **promised** he'd be a good boy never be late for choir practice again.

NOTE: Someone from New York posted that this asshole Judge, George Villegas of Bronx Supreme Court, has his own (legal?) issues and recently had a $500,000 Gambling Debt.

ps: When you think you've heard the most stupid ass-fuckery possible, New York rises to the occasion and sets the bar even lower.

Anybody ever view proceedings in Immigration court? I suggest you spend a day there. One of the Judge's openly cries when she listens to the sob stories.

Incredible! This "judge", like a whole bunch of judges, should remember karma is a bitch!
This is just another slap in the face of all Law Enforcement Officers. When that 911 call comes from this "judges" residence, I hope everyone is busy.

NYPD stick together.
If the judge was elected, vote him out.
If the judge was appointed, vote out fool who appointed the judge.

A long time ago CPD got rid of judge ( Petatroski spell?) who let go
an offender who beat up an on duty female PO, CT.

But when a judge is shot and killed look out world all the search warrants are approved, unlimited overtime, and teams of officer work 24 hour till a case is solved.

You may have noticed not much being said about the last county judge that was killed at his house i wonder why?

This is described as a LARGE CACHE OF WEAPONS"???
#1 The judge should have this guy as a house guest for a few weeks
#2 Who the fuck would describe that as a HUGE CACHE - it's not even a good start in ChiRaq

If a guy has no criminal record whatsoever is suddenly arrested for arms he owns and carries, simple exercise of enumerated rights, and the DA threatens him with life in prison, loss of his job, family and reputation, and a judge then sets him free on bail, and then cops show up to arrest him again for daring to exercise his inalienable right to defend his family, and he freaks out and shoots a cop, what is he actually guilty of?

Exercising his rights and defending them too? Attempted murder?

Is society so far gone that folks cant admit the obvious truth there, that he wasnt doing anything WRONG in the FIRST place? But that the original arrest started it all?

Could it not be that a good cop gets shot, because a bad cop started a mess in the first place?

I dont want good cops shot in the face!
I dont want good people arrested and threatened with losing everything and going to prison because they exercised their rights.

Both matter the same. Equality. Can we be honest about at least That?

In democratic cities, judgeships are a reward to local lawyers for party loyalty. Many of these lawyers are in no way qualified to be judges. They don't go to any "judge" school at all. That's the system.

The job of being a judge is given by the party in power to big donors or other lawyers who are loyal to the party in power. It happens like that at every level, even if they are elected the party puts them up and supports their election.

That is why we are seeing all sorts of recent federal ruling that defy all logic and law, in every case you can see that Carter, Clinton, or Obama appointed that judge the bench.

To 9:33AM,

The judge you are thinking about is Lawrence Passarilla(sp)

I had him as a defense attorney and his client went to the penitentiary.
