With the description given by the media, the offenders ought to be in custody very shortly:
- A 23-year-old man who was walking on a path behind the Shedd Aquarium was robbed, beaten and thrown into Lake Michigan just after midnight, police said.
"It's just crazy. People are evil out here," said Tim Johnson, who works in the area. "It's normally crowded people walking up and down here. So I couldn't see nothing like that happening."
The victim said he was attacked by several males and a female in the 1200-block of South Lake Shore Drive on the city's Museum Campus. The group took his backpack, phone and other personal items before pushing him into the water and running away, police said.
So be on the lookout for "several males and a female" if you happen to be near the lakefront.You should be completely safe then.

Maybe It's just me...but what in the hell is anyone doing walking in the area of the Museum campus at midnight?
"Several males and a female were found face down in the water off the Museum campus in the early morning." Upon recovery of the bodies, massive wounds were seen on each torso where a shotgun blast came in at point blank range.

The museum, aquarium and planetarium all close between 1630-1800 hours, depending on the day of the week. The concert season is over at Northerly Island and 12th Street beach closes at 2300, so there's absolutely no reason to be there that late.

The news barely mentioned this. Just like they barely mentioned how the same 'beasts' beat up a family a Six Flags. They cut in line and then beat the father, the mother, and the 12 year old son after they dared to complain. There is soooo much racism by blacks against whites and decent blacks!

Nice of you Black Folks supporting a Mayor who does not even see fit to have a Trauma Center in the City the size of Chicago, (most cities as big as Chicago have at least 2) , to save your lives if you are seriously injured, but he has enough money for Illegals to get everything for free, and lets them take the decent jobs away from you, and it's all paid for with your Tax Dollars. One of my first homicides occurred in mid-September over 57 years ago on the esplanade just east of the North Ave. Beach chess pavilion. F. John Thompson (M/W/23), a Viet Nam veteran and Purple Heart recipient was walking with his girlfriend when they were attacked by a roving band of feral youths. While the young lady survived, the returning soldier was bludgeoned to death and shoved into the lake.
While we did have about a 90% homicide clearance rate, this murder remains unsolved. Prime suspects resided in Cabrini-Green.
Lesson to be learned: While summer is over, many innocent but naive young people like to go to the lakefront late at night when the weather remains mild. Step up lakefront patrols with particular attention to ROVING BANDS OF FERAL YOUTH.

I live in the south loop and was very irritated by this. I contacted my Rahm loving sycophant alderman king as well as the 1st district caps officer. I called the matter an attempted murder and possibly a hate crime. He immediately attacked me for speculation saying that robberies happen all the time in Chicago. He will not like what’s coming his way as I’m sick of him covering up for Rahm’s bs and the lack of police in the south loop.
This is your city, the one that many people voted for Rahm to make into. 2019 cannot come fast enough. He has made an absolute mockery of any and all things Chicago. Fuck Rahm in 2019.

I'm going to ride my bike on the lake front much later then I usually ride. It appears most of the action is occurring at 2400hrs or later. I carry, and have a second gun in case there is a major malefaction of my 1911 type Para-Ord mod 14. That's right, a 45acp with 14 rounds in a mag. My snub is my back-up gun. I'm a senior, and attacking me is agg battery for starters. Robbery seems to be part of their motive, so I'm covered in the use of deadly force. I completely understand, for me a civilian while the crime is in progress and not when they are fleeing. I have everything in two Trust's and the only thing with my name on it is my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I've witnessed a wrongful death suit, and the person was completely justified in the use of deadly force during an armed robbery, but had to endure the first round in front of a Judge. After the first round of this suit, the Illinois law that protects you from these types of Civil Actions kicked in and the suit was thrown out. The initial cost was about 5,000-8,000 for the attorney. So, before they got to identifying my friends assists, it was dismissed. That's why I have everything in a Trust, you never know if some Judge would let the Civil Action go to round two or three. If it goes that far, they still got nothing. The Attorney who handled my friends wrongful death suit said, he's only seen a preliminary motion of the facts and case gets thrown out. Some times I ride with a retired female officer who was a Cook County Police Officer and she is also armed with a 9mm. To all the Chicago CPD Officer, God Bless all of you and please be safe.

7:55, funny you should say that, many years ago (approx 1988) I was assigned a traffic "accident" at 65th and Halsted. A f/b teen, walked in to the side of a car driven by a m/w, she put on a show, ambulance transported her to St. Englewood Hospital, no injuries found. The m/w was in the area to look into opening something similiar to a boys/girls club in the area, needless to say his company DID NOT come to the area. He was actually surprised that he was not ticketed, she didn't have the guts to step in front of his car, I still laugh about that one.
