God bless our canines and their handlers, but not one dime will I spend to go to Phil or his lucrative scheme.
Just another way for some thief to pocket some cash......all the money taken in should be regulated and donated to the fallen officer's fund or some charity......but it won't be.....so sad.....

There's always someone who clouds the issue and blames their particular lack of support to our members families who were killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty by using the PHIL rationalization. I'm not necessarily a fan of him myself, but I certainly support the Foundation that has generously helped our own. I pray that no one will ever need their support ever again, but I know better. The CPMF will be there for all the eligible members family who suffer the tragedy of death or catastrophic injury...even those that are less PHILanthropic (sic) themselves. I continue to pray that ALL will return home safe and sound to their family after every tour.

Phil's pension is $170000. His salary last year from the fund was $179000 and his expenses were 4300 for a part time job. His lackey was paid 123000 and 23,000 for expenses. So keep giving so Phil can pay off his condo in Fla.and he can keep enjoying expanding his waist line on steak dinners on you.

You present a terribly flawed argument. You have clouded the issue by absolving the scheme and the schemer because some good occurred. That is not how life works. Phil is not just being philanthropic using other people's money for the welfare of others, he is also being philhispockets for his own welfare.
You are apparently completely unaware or in denial that Phil started the organization for his own enrichment. He started the organization as a way to match his bloated pension plus benefits, expenses and a car. Had he truly seen a need and donated his time and efforts with a modest compensation for expenses, while having a job somewhere else if he was so keen about having a paying job to add to his bloated pension, he would have been pure of heart and he would of had my loyalty forever, but that is not the story.
In a sense, he founded his own company and doesn't have to worry about making his payroll because the money keeps coming from donations. He manufactured a pretty nice and lucrative job for "after the job" but it is an unsavory circumstance because he is not selling widgets, he is making his wealth off the backs of our honored and revered deceased, even if you believe his salary and benefits come from corporate donations and not from the donations of department members, he is still in the business of making a boatload off of the sacrifice of our dead. He apparently has no sense of honor.
Plus, you assume the money I do not donate to Phil and his scheme will not be donated to an honorable organization such as the 100 Club of Cook County, Police Chaplain's Ministry, Shriner's Hospital, Saint Jude's Hospital and Wounded Warriors and still benefit police officers and their family members. My donations do not need to be filtered thru Phil. If you have been around for a while you will know what I mean when I tell you Phil would take a hot stove. No, I do not need Phil's scheme. I am quite capable of donating directly to an honorable organization without his involvement.
