Does anyone know what happened with that mall they were building right on Cicero and Milwaukee , where that Bank of America was? The construction stopped suddenly.

During his last election he was going door to door. He came to my door, rang the bell, then began knocking. Since I could see it was him I didn't answer. While he was on the porch he then leans over to look in the front window. He then left some campaign pamphlet and signed it, Sorry I missed you, John. Rather persistent. Why look into someone's window?
I have called Arena's office for service. They ask for your name and address. I asked why and they said so they can tell me that the service was rendered. So the person on the phone did not tell me who they were so I declined. They are probably comparing names from the voter's list to see if you declared yourself a Democrat or Republican in the primaries.

It's only news I it is different than everyday happenings. The link was a perfect profile of Chicago aldermen and women. Simply change the name on stories and you a resume for all 50. Real news would an honest alderperson or candidate.

live in Ald O Connor ward---have had NO followup ever on any service request (abandoned vehicle- left there during street cleaning, graffiti on garbage can, panhandlers obstructing traffic, tree needs trim, streetlights out for days)--- nothing ever addressed...of course you see his wifes name all over the area selling real estate...

And you might want to check how many fundraisers Toni Preckwinkle has hosted for him so far, too. Now, why would she host parties for an alderman? What could her motivation possibly be?

Tim Heneghan is about to go against his childhood friend AGAIN and support the hippie Merry Marwig against Mike McAulliffe. He got involved in the FOP race supporting Dean. How did that work out? Next he will be running against the best friend the Police have, Anthony Napolitano 41. He will be slaughtered in that race and that will be the end of him. Not to smart of him telling everybody he wants Section 8 housing in the 41st Ward, he has lost 95% of any friends he had.
This site was out before both of Arena's elections. There are only two more entries or so since his re-election. The problem on taking on Arena is what occurred during the remap. The more conservative areas on the north end of the ward were divvied up between the 39th and 41st Ward. The boundaries of the 45th Ward were extended further east of Portage Park, where Arena ran strong. Arena has been spending a lot of time in Independence Park and Portage Park to maintain his voting base.
Problem is you can't beat somebody with nobody. John Garrido has already stated that he's not running a 3rd time. Even though people are infuriated in Jefferson and Gladstone Park, there may not be enough people to overcome his voting base in Independence and Portage Park.
Hey 8:38pm Arena's office is the same way you can call and call their office but nothing ever gets done. But at least in your ward you can go by that park ( Lincoln & Peterson )by O'Connor's house and see all kinds of palm trees and tropical plants, it looks like Florida. We don't have that in the 45th.

Wish that were true and hope but not everyone in the 45th ward is a police officer, fireman or city worker. Russ Stewart of Nadig newspaper did a good article a few months back of the make up of the 45th ward voters. Plenty of Hillary and liberal voters
Nevertheless, Arena is politically impregnable. He won his legendary first election in 2011 over John Garrido by 30 votes, and was re-elected in 2015, again over Garrido, by 1,225 votes. The 45th Ward went 67 percent for Hillary Clinton over Trump last November, with the precincts in Portage Park going 3 to 1 or better for Clinton. Arena panders to and pampers his political base, so much so that Garrido, who is among the most outspoken opponents of the 5150 N. Northwest Hwy. project, which will have 20 CHA-subsidized units and 60 below-market "affordable" units (out of 100), is disinclined to run in 2019.
