Dangerous Hypocrite
- A gun control activist in Chicago got a gun and justified it by saying her community is too dangerous to live in without one.
The activist–Camiella Williams–got a concealed carry permit too.
According to NPR, Williams grew up living on Chicago’s South Side and was personally impacted by violence at age nine, when she was hit in the head with a brick. She became involved in gang activity, acquired a gun at age 12, and lived violently until she had a son at age 18. At that point she decided to make a change; she moved away from the South Side, got a GED and a college education, and began lobbying the state for Illinois for more gun control.
She also traveled to Washington DC to press members of Congress to pass more gun laws.
And Williams continues to lobby, yet NPR’s Chip Mitchell reports that Williams has two thing most people would not expect a gun control proponent to possess–a gun and a concealed carry permit. Moreover, Williams makes clear she is ready to use her gun if she has too.
She said, “I mean I just know that I would probably retaliate.”
"Retaliate." There's a problem waiting to happen. The purpose of Concealed Carry is self-defense, not "retaliation." In fact, "retaliation" is a huge no-no in Concealed Carry classes - the threat ends, so does the justification for using the gun. In other words:
- Self defense = defense of self
Someone might want to head this one off before it becomes fodder for her fellow travelers.

I don't see her as a hypocrite at all. She has a legal right to own a firearm, and she did so, supported fully by the 2nd Amendment. Just because she owns a firearm doesn't mean there shouldn't be more controls in place to limit who has one. Every cop I know knows someone who isn't mentally stable yet owns one or more. From the mass shootings we've seen over the years, we all know there is a direct correlation between mental illness and availability of firearms. Other countries which allow a decent amount of private firearms ownership (Canada, Sweden) don't have the mass casualties we suffer here yearly.

The fact that this dimwit actually said she would retaliate should be reason enough to cancel her conceal carry permit. But they won't After all, she is a member of the "Concerned community".
And it wouldn't be hard to believe she is a loyal democrat. But she has got an excuse, she was hit in the head with a brick when she was 12. Anyone listening to her, that was not hit in the head, is just stupid.

How can someone make a living convincing elected officials,which is what Lobbyists do, when that person herself, cannot articulate the basic reason for the 2nd Amendment, and private ownership of firearms? Oh, also don't forget that she herself possess the vary item she is against? Are our elected officials that stupid; or is this woman a lobbyist as some form of Affirmative Action? If she were to use that firearm, and testify that she did so in "retaliation", she would probably have a reunion in prison with the person that hit her with the brick. The biggest part of the problem is all the shootings that take place strictly because
of "retaliation". So I am not surprised by this at all. Besides she is also probably
getting paid to be a gun control advocate.

Years ago when the only the very well connected could carry by being part time bailiffs, a lot of the local newsies got them. Then went on the 10pm news and ragged on for gun control. Until they were outed.

years ago when there were the riots in LA, there was an article in the paper about some homeowners up in an exclusive liberal area. Solid democrat. Anti-gun.
One of the home owners sheepishly showed their gun to a neighbor. Was stunned when the neighborhood started discussing how much firepower they had. But would never admit to.
