Leaderless COPA

  • The head of Chicago's new police oversight agency has told Mayor Rahm Emanuel she intends to resign to run for Illinois attorney general, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

The departure comes just 10 days after the Civilian Office of Police Accountability opened its doors, replacing the widely distrusted Independent Police Review Authority as the agency primarily responsible for investigating police uses of force and alleged misconduct.

Sharon Fairley has yet to officially resign but has informed Emanuel of her plans to leave, the sources said. Fairley, a former federal prosecutor, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Agency spokeswoman Mia Sissac said Fairley is "seriously considering" leaving the agency to run for attorney general. Sissac said that COPA is "set up to succeed" even if Fairley leaves.
After her "tour de force" as the head of the widely discredited IPRA, how could success be anything but assured? Her half-assed investigations, constant bending to political masters, all but calling officers "pigs" in the press.

Good riddance. Here's to hoping she loses the election.

So squealer Fairley is leaving COPA to run for attorney general. Who’s gonna run that shit show now??

9/25/2017 02:45:00 PM

His name is Grba. Former Federal investigator for Health, Education & Welfare and a cocky pimp. He took Kim's place as the First Deputy when Kim mysteriously scooted out of town last June. Or, the Vasquez guy at the airport, but Grba is there until Fairley officially resigns and 9.5 appoints someone. Fairley planned all along to leave after getting COPA off the ground and 9.5 was aware. The Attorney General thing just happened to be a convenient excuse for Fairley to move along. I, too, hopes she loses big time. Buh-bye Sharon.

Another fart in the wind gone. Don't worry 9.5 will hire another police hater to continue on with his agenda of tormenting the police dept. Another puppet will step in and Rahm the ventriloquist will be talking for them. Its a no win situation here officers. When you have two goofs kneeling with some female hater while on duty in a police facility and as far as anyone knows, no action has been instituted against these two who are violating G.O.'s.But wait, there African American so the powers to be will be praising them for interacting with the community. I hope they filled out a community interaction and obtained and event number for it because that's what they want. They should have informed her that they could not take part in the action while on duty as it would violate orders on political actions while on duty, but no these goofs buy into the new culture of America bashing the police.Amazing!

It appears the democrats are scrambling for someone to occupy the office of Illinois Attorney general, the most powerful law enforcement post in the state. The current occupant who does not want to run again ran up an enviable record of obfuscation and looking the other way when political corruption occurred. The democratic party wants to continue that record so the political class can sleep at night ( or stay up all night and count their money).

Sharon lost the money man and obviously was upset that the police are not the problem but the solution to the cities problems, looks like her ex John was smart got out in time! kind of like toni sugartax husband who got out while he still could:

https://alchetron.com/John-W-Rogers,-Jr-371036-W

Excerpt:

On December 28, 2002, Rogers married Sharon Fairley who was also a divorcee. At the time of her 2002 wedding announcement in The New York Times, Fairley, who is also a Princeton alumna, was the Executive Director of Consumer Marketing and Trademark Development at Pharmacia. Currently, Fairley is the City of Chicago's new leader for the Independent Police Review Authority, which investigates police-involved shootings. Previously, she worked for Chicago's Office of the Inspector General as First Deputy Inspector General and General Counsel and as an Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago for eight years.

Hmm sharon was divorced also wonder what that ex has to say about her?

Monterrey Security has been thrown out of Minnesota.

"The Minnesota Board of Private Detectives and Professional Agency Services voted unanimously Tuesday afternoon not to renew Monterrey's license.".

http://kstp.com/news/security-company-hired-protect-us-bank-stadium-fired/4614603/

"RELATED: U.S. Bank Stadium Security Employees Under Review

The Minnesota Board of Private Detectives and Professional Agency Services granted the Chicago-based firm contingency status, or a two-month extension on its license, this summer while state employees reviewed files to determine if there was any wrongdoing.

Monterrey submitted all required paperwork to the board just days before being up for renewal.

On Tuesday, the CEO of the company was grilled by the board about reportedly bussing 100 or more people in from Chicago to work the Vikings' season opener against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 11. The board wanted to know if those workers were properly trained, or had proper background checks.

CEO Juan Gaytan testified the company had been working to resolve the issues."

Let who use the community room? The collection efforts for Puerto Rico are centered a few blocks away at Casa Puertorriqueña. Is anybody collecting for Mexico? Florida? Texas? The department should organize collections for officers in these locations who have lost everything but are still working to serve and protect under the worst of circumstances.

You honestly think her tenure at IPRA was squeaky clean? The witch hunt and media trial of Lt. Glenn Evans is the best example of what was occurring there. That IPRA case had more holes than swiss cheese and the trial judge saw through them. Fairley knew about those holes and refused to plug them just to get positive media attention. She never expected Lt. Evans to put up a rigorous defense let alone win in court. Now that Lt. Evans is suing IPRA/COPA and Fairley don't you think the city has enough to fire her for just cause? It doesn't look as though your gal Harold will even be able to raise enough money to send out flyers. She doesn't seem to have much support even from the Illinois Republican party. Maybe that's the crux here; if her own party isn't showing much support for her, how can she expect much from the voters? And not knocking her, but just because she has a Harvard law degree doesn't really mean a whole lot to me. I mean, Masters Masters Masters had one too. And he poisoned everything he's ever touched here, from the CPD (2008-2010) to the office of Cook County Homeland Security. You'll have to ask former deputy director Ray-Ray over in 019 about that Cook County job. Been told there were some financial shennanighans over their during their time running that office, but for some reason, Preckwinkle has been very hush-hush about it all.

Guess who got his thing in the wringer again. Prima Sal-Donna. Apparently he flat out refused to assist the Puerto Rican relief effort by refusing to let them use the community room, refused to accept donations and even made an officer stop collecting money to be donated to the effort. After receiving calls from the 1st Deputy and others, the Cook County Sherrifs had to step in to assist with security and traffic control etc. let's see if the Hispanic caucus moves to have him replaced a la Lucio Martinez who also wouldn't play ball.

Good, it is a police station. Plenty of churches, public high schools, alderman, and state senators office to be used for that. What relief effort for PR needs to be headquartered in the 14th District? Whats gonna happen when those donations go missing? Whats gonna happen when shit goes missing from the district? Guess who is responsible for all that shit? The commander. I don't even know this guy, but he might the right call and you are clearly a moron.

Last thing I read is the city hasn't entered into any agreement with the DOJ and with Sessions being appointed DOJ is not pushing for an agreement. That being said Rahm stated the city can implement any, all or some of the DOJ recommendations. Guess is he doesn't want any oversight

Isn't Rahm and Lisa trying to sue the DOJ to pull the City and the CPD into an oversight agreement?

Rahm doesn't want the oversight unless he can pick the overseers. And he is calling for the oversight as part of his continious pandering to the community.
