Only in his own mind. I have stories of this guy; running in to a house full of gang bangers all by himself, walking in to a jewelry store being robbed, etc. He is a good man and a good boss. A bad tactican on the streets that will get himself or others hurt or killed. There is a huge difference between being foolishly aggressive and tactically aggressive. He is foolishly aggressive.
Look at their arrest histories. I guarantee Olsen is first on this list by a long shot. Nice job Captain!

Captain T.M. sounds good, sounds even better in 004. Their former Captain (MS) is going to investigations I believe (rumor) but she's definitely out. Those who are talking shit about TM being friends with the 1st - STFU you asshat. We in patrol would take TM any day compared to the some others (like the jerkoff in 025 or Olsen thanks to Watson or Robinson because his daddy was an ADS back in the day). He may have been the 1st's pick but its a good-solid-pick. Sanchez will be happy to have a strong #2 again.

Watch out for fast Eddie Kaup aka "powder" he knows everything and will be more than happy to let you know. Make sure you don't see him coming out of a bar with someone other then who he married. You'll be taken off your car, partner switched and different start time and messed with till no end.
Olson is a great cop and always a great family man. This job is full of people who love to talk police work but refuse to do it. Olson always puts the work in and it’s about time we had a boss that works. Congrats Olson. Don is another great working boss!

Actually he is still aggressive, but i think he's smart not foolish. He routinely waits outside if he gets there first. Always careful. had some stones to go in and save all those people tied up in the robbery incident you speak of..and he was his own biggest critic that day saying he was glad it worked out but he was also a little lucky. Said probably wasnt the best judgement to our roll call afterwards. really respected that. I think he learned from that day. Always backing people up

I worked with Eric in SOS on the same team. He is one of the hardest working coppers around and always had your back. Eric made Sgt and Lt on his own with no help. Get off that bullshit that someone made him and he deserves finally being recognized for being a hard worker. Eric is a great friend and copper. I'd work for him anytime.

Anyone offered merit would gladly accept it. Unfortunately, not all of us have the friends to nominate us. No one on this job ever thinks there in above their head. No one above Sgt gets rated yet, or gets demoted when they cannot perform the job required at their rank. Aaaaaaand yes, friendship sometimes make bosses make bad decisions on their picks. Probably because some bosses were someone else's mistake. You never really know the history and thoughts behind their decisions. It usually isn't earned. Most merits were well known do-nothing's. No fixing what's this broke. Unfortunately I'm Twenty and out.

Olson was the real police back in day and is deserving compared to others reaching that rank but it doesn't change the fact that he's a true blonde or mimbo.
Congrats to Don Jerome - No one has burned up the phone lines begging for merit promotions more than you (and unearned awards for that matter). Bad news is you may actually have to do the job of a supervisor now, and god forbid, you may have to sign your name to something. As you're already calling everyone you ever met trying to get to a unit, maybe 009 will be saved from you before long. In the meantime, just show up after you basketball games, several hours late, and immediately get out of the building so you don't have to do any of the mundane work of a supervisor. Maybe suggest the sergeants put people in for some awards... of course only ones were you can get the ribbon too. The way this department rewards incompetence you'll be an exempt before 2018.

kma club here and Jerome is one of the best bosses i have worked for, and I dont use the word "boss" lightly. Really advocates for the troops and we can all agree thats rare these days. Stay safe all.
If you get on this job and expect to be anything more than a 9161 (blue shirt) then this is not the job for you,unless you have a political connection! I did my 30 years as a blue shirt made the job work for me, not work for it! Put enough away in deferred compensation, worked some part-time gigs, put 3 kids through private schools (who would trust CPS with precious children where they mold them with false narratives about police?). Arrest numbers mean shit when it comes time to be a supervisor. Somebody tell the poor PO's who used to work in 010 for Eric what a great boss he was. They had no time on the job and were put onto a mission team with the hard charger Eric Olsen. None of the PO's could write paper to save their lives and had to let Eric write for them. Last I heard the lot of them were pending separation for their B.S. reports.
Maybe Olsen can give swimming lessons to the kiddies in 005 as he did to the coppers in 017 where he was a Sgt. Also Jerome can give lessons on how to remember where your gun is. Did I leave it in the car, the one with the broken passenger window & the inside ransacked or did I leave it at home? These are 2 of the finest that the city can promote?? Thank God that I'm retired!

knew Jerome as a sgt. his last few years and now LT. He wasnt crazy about paper then but has really become more well rounded and matured as a supervisor. He has "written" lots of paper to help guys out. he simply is always there I dont know how else to explain it. Theres a guy on the watch doesnt care for him that much who said hes still the first guy he would reach out to

Wasn't CL booted out of 606 as a PO? Richards was already on to his bullshit along with everyone else in 009. CL has an uncanny ability to find bosses who fall for his bullshit, but his reputation is already proceeding him. He's become a human hot potato which no boss wants.

Wrong. I rejected the merit promotion offer. You know why? Because I would make it rank order. My number came up and guess what happened? Waived it. Some of us aren’t thirsty for rank like that. Now go fuck yourself.

DeMon Dee did not get it this time, but who knows what the future holds. I hope she retires before they get to her.
The few on here supporting Olson have to be old timers who only worked with him when he was a PO and have never worked for him as a supervisor. Well I've worked with him as a PO and for him when he was a Sgt. He's not what you are portraying him as. He has gotten and will continue getting young coppers severely jammed up. And there will be more in the coming months once all the new beefs get looked at. In each and every beef, Olson is able to slither his way out while everything below him burns. But make no mistake, he will take every bit of the credit from the bosses for the temporary positives that came out of the arrest / search warrant / car chase / police shootings, etc and fill out his unlimited OT slips. But when all the bad shit comes out when the case gets nollè'd or not guilty'd and the beefs come down, Olson comes down with amnesia and lies through his teeth putting it all on the lowly PO's that followed his orders. Now many of you will say that all the bosses do the same thing when the shit hits the fan and self-promote themselves the same way, but you have obviously never worked for this guy. He takes it all to the extreme........just like Vanilla Ice did in '91.

I cant count the number of times Jerome kicked back our CR numbers as newer Sgts in 009 until we got it right! glad we have a CR Sgt now. He is very smart with an uncanny memory. Midnites had so many clusterfuck incidents over the years to count and ask anyone DJ was always there for the guys when it was needed. You dont need a supervisor when you do everything right, you need them when things go sideways. You have also become a friend to many Don, congratulations.
