Thanks to Rahm, McCarthy, Special Ed, Kim Fox, the ACLU, and every other democratic politician piece of shit in this city we’ve officially lost control of the streets. The criminals own this shit now and it’s only going to get worse. Citizens, start arming yourselves and quick.

Prayers with the officer and his family.

Rahm’s Chicago at it’s best. He agrees whole heartedly with Peckerwinkle, Dart, and Foxx, with emptying the jail and not prosecuting “community” members.

The “high ranking” PO shot must be a good guy because he got involved, which 99% of the Exempts wouldn’t even consider doing.

Best wishes for him/her.

When is this worthless mayor, and useless justice system going to acknowledge the problem in this city????

A robbery isn’t just a “property crime”!

At what point can we talk about the problem, and do what needs to be done to eradicate the problem?

Enough of the fucking games and political correctness. Let’s end these robberies and carjackings- ESPECIALLY downtown, where the PRODUCTIVE members do things like WORK and SHOP.

May God be with a good policeman and great human being as he makes is afterlife journey.

Watched both Channel 7 and 9 back and forth before 4PM. Do they have the suspect- or not??

Mixed messages as to whether or not they have the person in custody.

Bad day and totally avoidable. Waiting for more facts. Right now some things don't add up?? Eye witness said they had someone in custody and the person was wearing a vest (like a Police Vest) then, they have no one in custody? Which is it?

Or was it an officer who also got shot and they helped him take his vest off?

Like I said, things don't add up. Waiting for ALL the facts. Hopefully, they do have the person in custody.

Total sympathies to family. Time to vote out ALL the politicians. Chicago is NOT safe.

A Police Officer's Prayer
Oh Lord, while I'm on my beat
May I know that you're with me,
And protect me as I go to guard
Other's lives and property.
Help me ignore those who scorn
And show me no respect,
But be mindful of all citizens
I've sworn to protect.
Be with my fellow officers
And guard their safety too.
May I always put duty first
In the work that I must do.
May I not disgrace the uniform
But bring pride to the badge I wear.
That I'd be a good policeman, Lord
Would be my only prayer.
Amen

I am beyond sorry for this senseless, senseless loss.

But from the Lib-une: “It’s a difficult day for us, but we’ll get through it,” Johnson told reporters..." Isn't that nice? One sentence. Unreal. Sad.

This blood is on many, many hands.

I am Catholic and there is no "Purgatory" for this civil servant. His "Purgatory" was the last few seconds-minutes of his short life. He is with the Lord Almighty.

Check out Johnson's statement. What a jag off. He for some reason makes a distinction that any loss of a Chicagoans life is tragic. I'm sorry but Paul Bauer's life is more important than a gang banging convicted felon. This dept sucks.

God bless Paul and his family. But please also take care of each other. Unless you are military or police and have had a brother or sister die in the line of duty, it is hard to explain the emotions. Obviously a family member or dear friend dying is terrible and painful, but the emotions that come with line of duty brings so many other feelings. Take care of each other, it is what Paul would want.

My heart breaks for the family of this good man. My family and I are deeply grateful for what CPD does, especially in today’s insane climate. And the sight of those who run this city has gone from disgust to revulsion tonight for both Lakeview Dad and me.

I drove by the 019 station late this afternoon as I went about my day. I saw an officer getting out of a vehicle and looking just so dejected and sad. My first thought was to roll down my window and call out something kind, but I wasn’t sure what to say or if I should even bother him.

Know that you guys and gals ARE appreciated!

Much love, Lakeview Mom

A Commander jumping in off duty on an incident like this is probably not the norm, so I expect that Cmdr. Bauer was an exceptional man and cop. I also read that he was out front in complaining about the 'revolving door' in the criminal INjustice system being responsible for many crimes. If the person that did this (apparently a black coat with a fur collar from the only description the news gave, for some reason the race of the offender is not as important as it would be if it was an OIS) is a repeat offender, as he probably is, then CPD and all police in Crook county need to join their voices as one to show how corrupt and damaging the system is. Maybe you can get Cmdr. Bauer's message across in the end and make a little sense from this tragedy. My prayers to his family, both blood and work, I hope they find comfort in the knowledge that he died doing what he was dedicated to. Just an Indiana cop who is tired of reading daily how another officer in Ohio, or Arizona, or Tennessee, has been killed.

Chicago Police can make a dent in the voting in Chicago if we all vote. We need our families and friends to band together with us and vote these politicians OUT OF OFFICE! They have let this city burn the the ground. Crime is OUT OF CONTROL. This savage should have been in prison for his past offenses but wasn’t. These judges suck and don’t care about everyday citizens or police-same with the politicians. God bless the Commander. He gave his life because this piece of shit was still on the street instead of behind bars where he belonged. I didn’t know him but I would thank him for all he did until the end of his life that was gone too soon. He should have been able to finish his career and enjoy retirement with his family but that was stolen from him. I pray that he is with God now and that God watches over his family.

I was getting dressed in the parking lot today and saw commander Bauer today 20 minutes before he was assassinated by this scum of a human that all of these politicians are so worried about. What about commander bauer's rights? How and where does his family go from here? How will they ever begin to heal. Let us all say a prayer for him and family regardless of your beliefs. He always knew me by my first name and always asked how I and my family were doing. No one will ever come close to replacing this man. 31 years on the job and still left his police vehicle and gave chase. What a hero! Also, this happened across the street from city hall, isn't it supposed to be safe there. We need more police! Stop and frisk! Drivers for commanders protection. Elected officials start doing your jobs, a police executive officer has just been slain on your doorsteps!

Almighty God we pray to you
In heaven up above
Watch over our dear police officers
And protect them with your love.

Please guide them as they keep us
safe both day and night
And hold them firmly in your care
should danger come their way.

Give them true strength and courage
As they serve til duty's end
And one more thing to ask dear Lord
Protect their family and their friends.

I knew and worked with Paul. We were good friends. Talked to him on Sunday about his retirement plans. It doesn't surprise me that as a commander, he would respond to a call of another policeman. There were only 5 or 6 commanders who would actually do that, and he was one of them. It's time for the citizens of Chicago to wake up and get rid of these pandering, democrats who NEVER call out the criminals for who they are. Potential voters! God forbid that they actually call them out for their homicide rate, sexual assault rate, car-jacking rate, etc, etc, etc.......

RIP Sir. Prayers to his family at home and his family at the CPD. From what i've heard the city lost a true Policeman's Boss, which is almost impossible to find anymore. As much as we say we are not "policing" anymore or we are remaining "fetal", its not true. We may say it, but when shit happens in front of us, we can not help it but to get involved. We do it cause its the right thing to do, because we have a genuine want to help people and we do it without fear of losing our jobs or in this case our lives. Today the good citizens of Chicago and Law Enforcement across the country weep with our brothers at the CPD. Commander you are a hero. May God give your family the courage and strength to bear this enormous loss.

Thank you CPD for trying to keep us safe.

But not to the coward judges and politicians who want to make it easy for murderers to walk the street of this once great city.

Maybe todays loss will possibly be the catalyst for sticter longer mandatory sentences that cannot be mangled by weak judges and bleeding heart district attorneys.
