- On May 11, 2018 Alderman Arena walked into the 19th District Police Station at Addison and Halsted. He identified himself as Alderman Arena and stated he would like to park his personal car in the police parking lot so he and his family could go to the Cubs game. He was told the lot was full. He then responded, "I apparently didn't make myself clear, I AM ALDERMAN Arena!" He then went on to demand that they find room for him to park.
Once the officers realized this was the Alderman who makes complaints against officers, they allowed him to park in the area of the lot reserved for police officers and federal law enforcement.

This is clearly an abuse of power. This should be an easy one for you. There is a paper trail. We are told the district keeps a sign in sheet that will have the name Alderman John Arena along with his vehicle information on May 11, 2018. We are told this was the 2nd date he parked there within a week.
Apparently it's difficult for the alderman to scrape together the funds to park like everyone else on his 6 figure taxpayer paid salary.
Isn't this the same Alderman who paid top dollar for tickets during the world series to go see the Cubs in Cleveland. It appears as though he has money to pay top dollar and road trip to a game, but too cheap to pay for parking in his "hometown". (New Jersey is his real hometown).
You can tell how hated this jackass is since he has an entire website dedicated to his misdeeds.

(Zero fucks given).Then once the officer explained that his body camera was running the official's attitude changed. Needless to say he came in and complained and the LT. And the Sargeant came and coddled him. He told the officer that he needs to watch it. Now there we had it a couple of two year wonders who stood up to corruption, who didn't even have the support of their fellow officers. Apparently 019 can use officers like that.

Why doesn't desk officer have body cam? Seems only fair to record the goings on at front desk. That's right then there would be a record of all the deals being made in station, can't have that can we.

Inspector general is a sham, I just got a ticket notice in mail from April when I let my wife out of car downtown while stopped for about 1 minute. This mutt walked by me, said hello and i pulled away. She apparently wrote it and threw ticket away. I filed a complaint with inspector general's office and have heard nothing. Only interested in burning coppers.

Maybe the Inspector General would like to come to 37th Street just west of the Ryan on Sox game days. There he will find the private parking company, with the aid of Sox security, closing off the streets so the connected can park there. Years ago in 018 Ald Burt Natarus would always park his car on the hydrant by his condo, everyday. PO ER would write him a ticket everyday and had words with Natarus. Old Burt goes into 018 to talk to a Lt and puts on his. "Im an old man I cant handle this stress"

In my book, anyone who does not work in the 019th District should be allowed to park in the Police lot. This "courtesy" parking creates too many headaches for the people working the District. The District has to find parking for the officers working the night shift, it's hard to monitor who is walking in/out of our parking lot, some are urinating in the stairs/elevator, and the phones are flooded with calls requesting parking. If you have the money to pay for the tickets....PAY FOR YOUR OWN PARKING!!!!!!
BAck in my days in 011, there was a legendary Sergeant with the initials JT, or TS/Tricky as you may have seen written all over the city. Needless to say, Tricky was the recipient of many creative pranks. None of which he would ever pin on anyone as hard as he tried. I wont get into the particulars of anyone in particular, but one does come to mind. It seems that a vagrants individual who was a frequent fixture to the 011 District lobby, was found sitting in the back yard of said Sergeant with a 12 pack of beer. When SGT TRICKY arrived at home he could not believe his eyes when Karate Dan was waving cheerfully with a big smile and a cold beer in his hand. Unfortunately for SGT TRICKY, Karate Dan was non verbal and it went nowhere.
As For Alderass arena. I always keep a valve stem tool handy.

What do you think will happen? The administration controls any body or vehicle cam tapes. You surely can't blame the officers on the scene for letting this alderman park, can you? It is easy to call them cowards and call them out for not standing up to a heavy weight politician, but the officers on the scene are the ones who felt the pressure to give in and comply, and that includes the supervisors. The answer for this must come from the top, the Superintendent of Police should stand up for his officers. But, the silence is deafening, is it not? What will the mayor say? Again silence. I have seen far too many examples under various superintendents where officers took enforcement action against the wrong person and suffered for it.

Maybe Brian Nadig at the Northwest Press would find his balls and run the story, so the voters of the People's Republic of the 45th Ward understand what a giant douchebag arena is.

BAck in my days in 011, there was a legendary Sergeant with the initials JT, or TS/Tricky as you may have seen written all over the city. Needless to say, Tricky was the recipient of many creative pranks. None of which he would ever pin on anyone as hard as he tried. I wont get into the particulars of anyone in particular, but one does come to mind. It seems that a vagrants individual who was a frequent fixture to the 011 District lobby, was found sitting in the back yard of said Sergeant with a 12 pack of beer. When SGT TRICKY arrived at home he could not believe his eyes when Karate Dan was waving cheerfully with a big smile and a cold beer in his hand. Unfortunately for SGT TRICKY, Karate Dan was non verbal and it went nowhere.

In my book, anyone who does not work in the 019th District should be allowed to park in the Police lot. This "courtesy" parking creates too many headaches for the people working the District. The District has to find parking for the officers working the night shift, it's hard to monitor who is walking in/out of our parking lot, some are urinating in the stairs/elevator, and the phones are flooded with calls requesting parking. If you have the money to pay for the tickets....PAY FOR YOUR OWN PARKING!!!!!!

You have the nerve to talk about the Cheap alderman not wanting to pay for parking,,well what the fuck are you doing when your stupid asses call and ask to park there...cause you want free parking too. We work there and cant get parking or there is such grid lock cause your too cheap! Shitty cars and shifts but my manhood intact, grow some balls, your a blue shirt, all you had to tell him was you can’t allow him to park there and he’s welcome to talk to your supervisor. What is the role of the officer stationed by the lot, if he/she has no idea who this asshole is, but added him to the list based solely on his own assertion that he was allowed to park there? You don't blame the officer for allowing an unknown person to park in the lot?
