Good Point

From our Statistic guy (click for larger versions):

  • So yes, arrests are slightly up. But it's like a kid coming home with a 20% grade on his test (an F). Then coming home a month later and saying, "hey dad, I took another test. I raised my grade!"

But he only raised it from 20% to 25%. It's still an F.

Did CPD and Suntimes forget a few details? Like the ratio of arrests per incident? That's only 23 arrests per 239 carjackings. Not to mention, compare 2018 to 2016. That's a 60% increase in carjackings 2016 vs 2018.

What about 2018 to 2015. That's a 203% increase in carjackings 2018 compared to 2015. What exactly are they proud of?
Probably proud that they continue to utilize a tame media to pull the wool over citizens' eyes.

As dismal as the percentage of arrests Re, the public would be outraged if they realized how very few of those arrests result in convictions and meaningful punishment. Any "juvenile" arrest has absolutely no consequence for the offender.

Pay us more. The anti went up. Give us public school preferential selection seeing that we have to, as a condition of employment, reside in Chicago. Aren't we Chicago finest? Are we treated that way? We can't strike yet but a St. Jude no show would make a point. I understand why we go, but if conditions don't change fast, we will have more reason to go to St. Jude. If there is disagreement, then pick a better way. Have a post on demonstrating somewhere somehow. Make some noise!

SCC. Please focus on that we need more pay because we are being trained an exorbitant amount of information monthly via e-learning and that our base salaries do not correlate to our new learned expertise in super social policing in today's age obtained though this informative training. They can use the training against us, why not use it for us? The job has changed adding more subject matter and expertise. We demand to be compensated. FOP? Marty?

Your jacking clearance rate is below that of murder.
When short term interest rates exceed that of long
term rates (10yr. treasury vs. 30yr. treasury), it's
referred to as an inverted yield curve.
Criminals have learned they have a better chance
of beating a jacking rap than murder. Economists
would say it's a better reward vs. risk ratio.

Arrests slightly up because of catch and release. Locked up a carjacker, ASA let him go, IA put out because he was wanted on three more.

The real question is what is conviction fate and average length of sentence for those that are convicted? Willing to bet both are very low since all arrested are people of color, and Lord knows we can't have people of color in jail despite the fact that people of color are responsible for the vast majority of crimes in city. 80+% according to Heyjackass. So the justice powers that be have created the Chicago sanctuary catch and release program to deal with the out of control crime in city. Easiest city in country to get away with murder considering 15% homicide clearance rate. Nice job Rahim. A Democratic vote is a vote for soft on crime and high taxes to pay off all the Democratic voters.

Wonder why it is becoming more common.

Door#2 Increase punishment for those you catch, Judge Evans says ....
Door#3 Move out of Chicago

Yes, a tame media, but only when it comes to bashing the cops and to find something that they think is wrong and capitalizing on it. I surely would like to see a Tribune investigative report on the nepotism, cronyism and outright political patronage that is pervasive in the police department and has been for decades, but has intensified since Daley Jr. came into office. If anything effects performance, results or even drives some of the corruption and excessive force that has occurred in these years, it is the patronage. The rank and file know that this corruption exists and know that the topic is avoided by the media.

Kim must have quietly instituted limit of ten ok carjackings before charging. Makes sense since there are too many people of color in jail and the carjackers are all black. Also not charging as these poor souls need transportation since city does not yet supply them free cars. Optimum word is YET.

Want to stop carjacking? Start a Ghettomobile program. Like the Divy bike program only free to those with Link card. Free car would also have Free gas and Free insurance. program paid for by new sugar tax which would be warmly embraced since it would stop carjackings. Prickwinkel are you paying attention?

More on Using the Right Words for the Right Time:
Rahm and Jughead Special Ed, The Right Man for the Right Time™️ say that “Murder victims are down”,
translates to “have you ever seen a murder victim ‘upright ‘.

I hope Jugghead is still around when Rahm loses his most expensive re-election campaign.

Maybe he or Jugg will have fell-out before then, the sympathy vote used to be an effective 11th hour Democrat tool.

The single biggest problem in Chicago is the low arrest and conviction rates for robberies, shootings, and uuw.

Some of the fault lies with the States Attorney. Some lies with the judges and jurors. And some lies with officers. Bad flash messages with no useful information, poorly written reports, formula language that doesn’t say anything, inability to explain facts to felony review without getting angry, unprepared testimony, sloppy appearance in court, missing court, repeatedly telling the state you don’t remember, telling the state to take a plea because you don’t want to testify...all give an already hostile ASA, judge, and juror another reason to let a criminal go free.

There’s nothing you can do about the states attorney or judges except vote and complain. The thing you control is you.

Just more smoke and mirrors to get funds and put clouted in spots. They say the emphasis is on getting federal charges with harsher penalties. This task force isn’t going to make any arrests. It not a national carjacking conspiracy. It’s a few fools who want a few bucks, maybe an iPhone, reach into a car for that and then figure I’ll take the car to save bus fare or having to run away. Most of the time the car is dumped a short time and a distance away. This is not a worldwide auto theft ring
Notoriety was brought because a guy accidentally shot his brother, then started grabbing one car after another and and driving them a few blocks.
As far as federal charges when CPD arrests and idiot you drop the state charges and forward the case to the federal attorneys, similar to bank robberies. Now they have ATF?, suburban departments, ISP who I would think are still pretty busy trying to catch their first suspect in the numerous expressway shootings that have happened over the last year or so and a whole bunch of others

SupportSunTimes: Investigative reporter’s career comes full circle
https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/sun-times-investigative-reporter-says-good-bye-to-readers/

For the past six years, it’s been my great pleasure and honor to work as an investigative reporter for the Sun-Times, on its “Watchdogs” team.

Friday was my last day on the Sun-Times payroll, and this is the last of the weekly columns I’ve been writing for you for the past four-plus years. I’m taking a new job at WBEZ, Chicago’s public radio station, where I’ll still be an investigative reporter focusing on politics and government.

Whose next? Hopefully Neil the wife beater steinberg, then Mary (dude stole my car), then sneed (isn’t she terminated already?), then brown, and Fran goodbye no loss to Chicago! To think the people spoke and stopped buying and advertising in that slanted paper with stories that bashed police nd honored the people who caused so many problems, guess tomhard to go after the democrats who are letting this once great city sink further into the abyss!

2 arrests so far if you count the one guy who went on the rampage that ended in the loop. They helped get the feds to take it. If you don't count that then 1 arrest.

A beat man in the loop arrested the guy, not the task force. You need a task force of over a 100 to help have the feds take the case. How about a call from the superintendent ‘s office, Johnson or the ASA? That would be too easy

But they are still not enough people being hired to take the place of all the coppers who have retired the past few years. It has been a trend, everywhere , to have fewer coppers in each department to save money. When I came on in 1996, there were so many copppers on the street, we were almost tripping over each other ..
