HeyJackass commented the other day that it looks like Chicago might see an entire month (spring training) without a weekend that wasn't either below 70 degrees or raining. This coming weekend looks like we'll be at 80 degrees, but possibly rainy.

Slightly off-topic, but I’ve been wondering about this lately: Has the increased frequency off canceled RDOs during holiday weekends mostly happened during 9.5’s tenure? I only have 13 years on, but it seems to me this didn’t happen so much during the reign of Shortshanks. Obviously, there’re both useless in their own special, connected ways, but I feel like this is mostly Rahm’s his ball-less “leadership,” pandering, lies, etc.
Fun fact for everyone university of Chicago still had to go on a complete advanced life support and trauma bypass due to the overwhelming ambulance runs, and we're not even into the summer yet.

Come on its those pesky guns. But new laws won't do anything unless one of those laws is gun used in crime or felon caught with gun automatic 10 years with no time off. Will stop gun use overnight. No judicial discretion automatic sentence on top of whatever else charged with. It is not guns but who is using guns. It is a solvable people problem. You already have tough gun laws but no penalty at all for ignoring them. The problem is with existing justice system. Not enough people of color being put away for long periods of time. Why people of color, because they are committing 80% Of the cities crime. Indisputable fact. Stop making excuses for them and get tough it is all they understand. Simple solution to Chicago crime problem. Got to protect the good from the bad no matter the reason for them being bad. You can't fix bad by ignoring their behavior and hoping they will change because they won't change other then get worse and more violent.

The "extra" officers are just the ones who got their days off canceled. Maybe we can man all the beat cars with all the extra people, since we can't do that on just a regular day.

Where are the bodies you ask? Obviously you have not ever visited HQ or a district station.

What are you talking about? Who said 700 is a 1,000. Who said they are graduating by this weekend? Doesn’t matter if you believe the number. They have been putting in at least a 100 or more a month and they are there for 6 months, plus for some reason a class or two have been held up. When I was in the academy we worked Bud Billiken Day in the park. If the recruits can work that they can work festivals and other assignments this weekend. There are classes at each stage of their training in the academy and the ones at the level necessary to work the details could be sent out

What am I talking about? I'm talking about your response to someone asking where the 1,000 extra Chicago police officers are hiding. You said "in the academy." Pretty simple to understand. You then said there are 700 recruits in the academy, to back up your claim that there are 1,000 extra police officers in the academy. Recruits in the academy aren't police officers. That's why they're in the academy. 700 isn't 1,000. That's why I pointed it out. You were using 700 recruits as an answer for "where are the 1,000 extra Chicago police officers?" So how do 700 recruits at various stages of training equal 1,000 extra police officers? Get it now? I suspect you still don't.
