Nice Bail
- Mario Cupello was charged with ten felonies, accused of scamming his west suburban landscaping clients. But when Cupello, a convicted felon, appeared before Judge Stanley Hill he was released on an I-bond, or a no cash bond.
Prosecutors had asked Hill to issue Cupello a $100,000 bond, noting his criminal background included felony convictions for car-jacking, burglary and aggravated robbery. “I am not going to follow the recommendation on this one,” Hill said, according to a transcript of the March 21, 2018 court hearing. Instead, he let Cupello, 46, walk out of jail without paying a dime.
“I flipped,” says Robert Arnold, the nephew of a 91-year-old woman who accused Cupello of theft. “I go, ‘are you kidding me this guy gets 10 frigging I-Bonds?’”
Ten felonies and no bail. And guess what happened the next day?
- Elmwood Park Police arrested Cupello again a day later. This time he stood accused of misdemeanor domestic battery.
Thank goodness there are other judges giving out high bails for felonies....like attacking a police officer:
- Thompson started fighting with the sergeant, eventually grabbing him by the neck with both and choking him against the hood of his car, prosecutors said. The sergeant couldn’t break free until additional officers responded to the scene and used a Taser on Thompson before taking him into custody.
Cook County Associate Judge Sophia Atcherson set Thompson’s bond at $5,000 at his initial court hearing Sunday at the Leighton Criminal Court Building. He’s next scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
So for $500, he walks free. Anyone want to bet what the bail would have been on Sarge if he (justifiably) lit up his assailant?

Taser is unnecessary use of force. There are more gentle ways of breaking up a fight.
The CPD Sergeant is an upstanding asset to the City of Chitcago. The judges know his friends and family would cover whatever ridiculous exorbitant bail the judge demanded.
This poor misunderstood waif with TEN FUCKING FELONIES needs our love and understanding. Especially now that he is on the street, and have to burgle, rob, extort, and otherwise steal enough to pay his scummy lawyers to stay out of prison. It is better for society to have him add to the rich vibrant tapestry of our lives with a little violence and larceny.

Evans and preckwinkle met with all 26th st judges and threatened to can any of them that wasn’t with their program, which we all know what that means. This was a while ago but credible and we see it in practice. FBI...you awake? Investigating Russian bots influencing an election by Facebook adds (🤔) is more important that a criminal court system, which is responsible for one of the most violent cities in the country, has shown a complete unwillingness to be impartial, NOT prosecute criminal based on race, a possible Chief Justice and politician threatening to fire these weak ass judges if they didn’t play by their rules, etc.
Never thought I would view the FBI as a corrupted agency but, like 26th street, it’s clear their top echelon is just as political as ours.
It truly is as if the judiciary in this county wants these knuckleheads out and about.
Perhaps, were many of these fortunate skaters to be, coincedentally, found dead, AND no clues can be found as to the cause of their departures, the concern for the bond required would be rendered moot. As in, no suspect, no arrestee, no accused, no arraigned, no case filed, no bond assessment called for.
Now, that could not possibly be the intent of our county judiciary, could it?

Was he charged with attempted murder of a police officer? If not why not? This judge like all cook county judges, have to appear before their masters who are the democratic committeemen,bend down and kiss the ring (among other things not putting on PG board), then they pledge allegiance to them and are told what to do via cell phone calls!
Now the democratic masters are almost all police haters, pandering thug illegal criminal supporters and police lives do not matter to them at all!

Not that you would want to let facts stand in the way of your crazy rant, but Tim Evans was not a judge during the Greylord investigation..Also, Judge BIebel was the PRESIDING Judge of the criminal division while Judge Evans is the CHIEF Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court..
