CTA even shut down northbound red line trains and CPD herded them to the l stops and sent them packing. Target store at Clark and Roosevelt overwhelmed . Stay the fuck out of downtown. FOP take it to Rahm and the other enablers. Wake up

So what happens during a 90 degree weekend when there aren't "1,000 extra cops" on patrol, especially after school lets out? Many many reports of CPD merely "escorting" the ne'er-do-wells to the Red Line out of downtown - that's some deterrent.

Same shit tonite. North Ave and 31st street beach out of control. Don't even think of coming downtown unless your well armed and willing to use it. Keep those closest to you safe, find something to do in the burbs.
Thank you for posting this. Just read on Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown that a group of about 20 kids beat up a 15-year-old kid at the Lane Tech carnival Saturday night. Fortunately CPD was there to break it up and hopefully you were able to arrest some of these punks. No media coverage.

In the mean time we had a wonderful Memorial Day parade here, the school children of the grade school sang "God Bless America" at the park. Some old Vet's wore their uniforms and marched, some younger ones also. Everyone saluted the flag, placed their hand on their heart, .... no one took a knee from what I saw. No fighting, no mugging, no wilding.

Something that could help diminish their numbers would be to place 5-10 officers at select CTA train stations and randomly select passengers to stop for weapons and scrutinize for security purposes. If you start arresting these groups it is going to take a lot of cops. Charges will be denied by the ASA and they will be back out on the street before all the paperwork is complete. Former Chicago Resident and not LE: I used to live on the 61st floor of a condo overlooking water tower and michigan ave/chicago avenue. I gotta tell you, it was better than anything I could find on tv or hulu or netflix sitting on the window ledge watching with binoculars and that was last summer. This summer I am as far west as I can possibly go without jumping into the ocean and as much as the idiots in CA have reached a level of stupidity not surpassed by any other state, (leaving here soon also) there are NO wildings here. Not yet, anyway. People, PLEASE LEAVE THAT HELLHOLE. There are plenty of jobs in other states and yes, I know, we all have family there but they don't/didn't have to deal with the shit downtown. We live in Sandburg Village. We're watching the Cubs game while having a barbecue on our balcony for Memorial Day. It's only early Monday afternoon. The cacophony of police and fire sirens is non-stop. Yet the media ignores what's happening. Frankly, we're frightened to go down to the public streets and the lakefront. From my military days, I can only conclude that this city is a total "Charlie Foxtrot" (if you vets know what I mean).
It will continue this way for the foreseeable future. The combination of Cook County Judges and States Attorneys letting these "youths" out after committing violent crimes and numerous prior arrests and Police Brass pushing for for these "youths" to be let go with nothing but counseling just shows them there is no consequences for their actions. This is tied with them learning at a younger age that nothing is their fault and that they can do whatever they want and cry racism if someone objects. All these children are the legacy of Obama and the Democratic Party (looking at you Foxx and Preckwinkle).

Something that could actually help diminish their numbers would be if their potential victims went downtown in larger groups, all armed and ready to defend themselves against an attack. Dead thugs can't bother anyone. Thugs who get guns pointed at them by their intended victims will be less likely to continue their attacks. Arm yourselves and fight back. They're cowards who attack in packs because they're afraid to go one on one. Turn the tables on them and watch them flee like the cowards they are.

In the mean time we had a wonderful Memorial Day parade here, the school children of the grade school sang "God Bless America" at the park. Some old Vet's wore their uniforms and marched, some younger ones also. Everyone saluted the flag, placed their hand on their heart, .... no one took a knee from what I saw. No fighting, no mugging, no wilding.
Retired and moved to Texas. Memorial Day for us started with walking our dog to the near by lake. Passed several neighbors who were setting their yards up for cook outs. American flags practically in front of every house. Got to the lake to find kids playing and riding their bikes. Each one I passed greeted me with a "good morning sir".
No kids running wild. No loud music blasting from car stereos. Went to our oldest daughter's home for a cook out. It was a very good day.
Get out as soon as possible. The Great Democratic Experiment that is Chicago is a colossal failure. Don't let it drag you and your family down with it.
These jag offs are taking the red and green lines into the downtown area to cause trouble. Something that could help diminish their numbers would be to place 5-10 officers at select CTA train stations and randomly select passengers to stop for weapons and scrutinize for security purposes. Shut down the turnstiles to 1 lane and slow them down to the point of airport security. It’ll increase safety and security and possibly they will give up and stay in their neighborhoods. Also, increase officers on the CTA and arrest these jag offs for anything/everything illegal that they do. Smoking, crossing cars, jumping turnstiles, etc.

Interesting comment, but it is something you may woefully regret. She has said exactly what she plans on doing and that is a consent decree. She has labled the entire department as being racially biased, due to systemic racism. She has moved to fire officers against the superintendents recomendation. As the news has reported, she served as Police Board President, while planning to run for mayor and using that post to advance her own political agenda, she was in a position of power to fire officers at that time. So, be careful what you wish for. I for one won’t be voting for her or Rahm. As far as crime is concerned, exactly who is going to do any police work for her? You would have to be a complete fool to stick your neck out. I think the crime rate would dramatically increase under either of these two.

Rumors of Lieutenant Fenner CR against Superintendent Johnson: Fenner and Johnson thought she would get a gold star in several months. Johnson was denied by City Hall HR and is furious. City HR says the exam cheating scandal is too fresh and nepotism allegations would be hard for the Mayor to deflect close to election. Johnson told Fenner to file an EEOC complaint so he would get leverage to promote her in an effort to settle the EEOC complaint. Off topic: My boneheaded but brilliant grandson [finishing his masters degree in criminal justice and except for one B in his first year, was all A's for six years in college] just took the last test for CPD. He will be accepted. Pretty much guaranteed in this day and age of misfits applying for the job.
Question: Have dress uniforms, wool blouse, reefer, hat, etc.had their specs changed? same for nylon jacket and summer crown hats.
Other than St.Jude march, and summer and winter inspections, my wool's are like new. Would save a bunch of money having them altered rather than bought new.

Oh brother! Are you new to the blog? Haven't you read the stories about the messed up hiring process? Don't run to the tailor just yet. You could be wasting your money on alterations. Just because you think he's brilliant and has wonderful grades and should easily be called for the job, there are no sure things when it comes to present-day hiring for the CPD. He could be left on the shelf while others you would feel are less-qualified than him are hired. And, he would be far from the first one to have it happen. Good luck to the boneheaded, but brilliant grandson regardless of the outcome.

Having dinner at your favorite establishment, the Ass Crack Cafe, limited your line of sight quite narrowly.
North avenue beach was fine today. Saw 3 po’s on horses and a few other police. Guess if you leave by 6 everything’s good. Volleyball, swimming and catching rays all went without a hitch. Place was packed, but didn’t see any problems. Just saying
