Anyone know when the community is going to start lining up to offer apologies to the Officers and the Chicago Police Department for their lies, slanders, assaults, batteries, and generally being assholes flying off the handle based on incomplete and pretty much wrong information?

UPDATE: We know the media isn't going to apologize - they have an agenda to push. So we'll settle for them re-interviewing each of the assholes they broadcast and printed yesterday and today with the people (or folks) who said the offender was unarmed, a concealed carried licensee or just minding his own business before he went and cured cancer or something.

The media allowed “witnesses” from the “community” to defame hardworking and honest law enforcement officers without doing anything to confirm or refute their versions of this incident. That is incompetent journalism no matter how you spin it. This is proof positive of what law enforcement has been saying for years about the unfairness and blatant lies which the media purports to be news. If it is not truthful, then it can’t be considered news. This is a continuation of Northwestern University “David Protess” school of journalism which seems to be the gold standard in Chicago newsrooms. Maybe it is the Chicago media that needs to function under a consent decree to require they report the truth.

I watched the video and feel bad for members of the CPD who were put in that position. The video not only shows that he was indeed ARMED WITH A HANDGUN but HE WAS CONSTANTLY grabbed it and was having trouble pulling the GUN out from the holster. IF he would have pulled it out, he certainly would have shot a couple of cops. THERE IS NO REASON FOR PROTESTS BECAUSE THIS OFFENDER CAUSED HIS OWN DEATH. Just got her hair did, wearing jewelry looking like Mr T and of course not in uniform. The fact that person is a commander and looks like that and I can only imagine how clueless she is, what a joke.
Looks like legitimate self-defense to me. Helps a lot that they released the footage almost immediately. That ought to be the normal practice rather than hiding it for a year.

Thank God the officers involved were not injured and went home to their families. For the average law abiding citizen living in or traveling thru Chicago, this short clip shows the importance of concealed carry and continuous practice. In this instance, the police were there to eliminate the threat. In many other instances, the police are not around and you will need to deal with the threat on your own if you wish to continue to live. It is your life or the perp's. Rahm, Madigan, Fr. Any thought that there is any credibility left with ANY media outlet is extremely foolish. I think most folks grew up with some sense of integrity related to the media. Tough to shake. But the media (all forms) has clearly been transformed into pure tabloid journalism. They are all dying and gasping for air.
