A recruit just got fired for cheating on the state exam. I guess he wasn't married to the Sup or a Chief, he would have been triple promoted.
Not that we advocate cheating to get on the job, but it amusing that so many high ranking positions are filled by people who couldn't pass a promotional exam without cheating.

I totally agree with you. They cheated and got away with it but their day is coming. They wo t get away with their lies.

Cheating on promotional exams has been going on for decades . Everyone now is upset because of the Fenner Debacle . An African - American Commander recently told me “ Yes we did cheat “ and then said “ We learned from you white guys and “it’s Our turn !” Cheating has been going on so long it’s acceptable . When a subject matter expert in 2002 son scores number # 10 , his partner # 15 and his entire tactical team along with the driver for the deputy chief # 64 what does that tell you ? I was studying the general orders and they were studying the test and the answers . Throw in thirty per cent merit and you have a department diverse in clout and the average hardworking cop doesn’t have a prayer . Let’s see detective , sergeant , lieutenant and captain . Shocking !
Someone actually had a "9mm pen" at the range some time ago. This individual kept not passing the qual in the academy, so I'm guessing (s)he poked a few holes in there to make sure of a passing score. The only problem was, there were a couple of extra holes in the target. This person sat down for the state exam and was escorted from the building before the exam started. I later found out this individual needed glasses because (s)he couldn't see the target well enough to shoot and was so cheap, (s)he wouldn't buy them and lost out on a good paying, long term job.
How fucking dumb must one be to need to cheat on that exam.. glad they got the recruit out. If that's even what actually happened.
Fenner will be the next Superintendent Emanuel's going away present!

I am shocked. Not that he was cheating but that he didn’t just use the “study guide” that has been floating around the academy for years that has state test questions. They were supposedly created by our crack academy legal staff to assist the recruits. A recruit was found with one over ten years ago and the academy administration did nothing then and actually returned the material to the recruit so I’m certain those study guides are still around. They’re probably similar to the special study guide that some officers get with promotional test questions. That recruit just didn’t have any juice. On a funny note though I’m interested to know what method was being used to cheat. Maybe something like Chevy Chase used in Spies Like Us.
Please don’t tell me Eddie Johnson had the final decision to fired the recruit for cheating on the test.
Interesting to see if you are connected you can do whatever you want you can lie you can cheat you can steal and get promoted to our upper echelon Of liars cheaters thieves, but many do at the Chicago way they make sure that they pay their yearly tax to the elected politicians they put them in that position!

His appointment was orchestrated by cardinal Theodore McCarrick that pope Francis, and Cupich knew years ago was a pedophile, and hid it from the public that he prayed upon ! Sorry, but if this recruit even paid just a little attention in class and spent a few hours studying then he or she would have passed. I just attended a graduation at the academy and what I saw was pathetic. I hope they keep statistics on these new folks. I bet alot will have issues, especially with discipline and insubordination. As far as Kenner demanding an officer to change a traffic report, a plain NO and make a record of it, fuck being labeled a rat by this POS.
The exam is easy to pass. How dumb was this recruit.

Don’t forget Mike “Lt Bars” Barz. He was the one who initiated the confidential CR about the secret study group but conveniently got a case of amnesia in exchange for a class one merit spot. This even though he scored high enough to be made off the list in the second or third class.

I think everyone who is taking the test should have the answers and be allowed to cheat. Now let’s see if the list looks any different.
If you passed the 8th grade you should pass any exam in the academy. The answers for all the state required test are out there and passed from one class to another. Dui, firearms, and hazmat, the FEMA answers are all online. The review for the state test is basically all the test answers.
Since the idea of testing being legit has gone out the door, why don’t we try voting within the department on those seeking promotion. That should also eliminate the need for a merit system.
Like he was the first...to cheat.

I axe, what would be so wrong with faking a little knowledge and hide ones incompetency ?
Guess one has to get the job before they’re allowed to manipulate the process.
The Rules;
- requires you to be re-tested every 1 year carry a firearm.
- requires you to be re-tested for vision, written and driving ability to maintain a IL DL.
- requires you to randomly be retested for illegal drug use.
- requires you to be trained to treat current social issues and the complex intricacies of the community.
- requires you to pass and abide by an Ethics statement.
If the above rules are of some significance, as they should be, the purpose is to keep the tester up to date and to utilize their full potential.
Isn’t it about time they require Sgts and above, including The Merit Exempt to be re-tested to see what they’ve retained over the course of their careers?
If you fail, you get held back and demoted...not laterally moved or over promoted again.
So, what’s in the State LEO exam that makes (or made) one a LEO vs. Aviation Security (no offense)?
Maybe the fledgling was too tired to study, maybe a bit challenged, maybe just wanted to make sure of a passing score.
It’s not like these Merit Hacks that run the Dept put a whole lot of effort into those JerryLewis U parchments.
What else not being told about this dismissal?

There were only two PO's from Gene Williams' Office interviewed concerning the secret "lies" sessions. One of them, the NOBLE member, somehow was named a merit sergeant recently. The other white girl needs the job for family issues. The IG never, never, never, interviewed the three civilian members who worked late quite frequently and most likely saw the entourage as they gathered for their "fib" sessions. Two of the three are now gone so they have no concerns of retribution from the powers that be. Then again the IG is just another of Tiny Dancers flunkies. Kind of like Kidney Bean Mrs. Fenner. PS: memo to the IG. Place both hands behind your back, palms facing in, then you'll be able to find your ass. It appears as though you're unable to even conduct this basic search.

Please let it go already. Everyone knows you passed the state exam. The difference is you signed up for a job whose title was aviation security. Not police officer. If you weren’t sure of this when you applied, you could have checked the city‘s website which clearly says aviation security officer. And if you did not bother to do this, then you should have thought that something was odd about you not being able to carry a firearm off duty if you were truly police officers. In the world of police work, we call that a clue. So enough with the whining already.

This is the dirty truth. As long as Irish and Polish husbands and wives/ siblings appeared on promotional lists, no one complained. Wolinski’s, Polanski’s, etc
Murphy’s, O’Sullivan’s, O’Brien’s, etc.
Does anyone remember when some newly promoted folks were sent to remedial reading and writing classes before they were assigned to the districts. Back then if the quota was met all was well. Quota, merit what next.
Special eds son screwed up the periods of cycle training because he couldn't pass the physical tests. Now all ppos are being shorted days off and start between periods. This dept. is a joke...tac arrests are a joke (bicycle on side walk arrests) sat teams (long form tvbs), gangs and guns hit wrong houses for crack heads and no drugs, supervisors are split 40% cheated, 40 % merited, 20% passed on their own. On the street they are cluess!!! Read your directives, most supervisors don't know squat. Don't drink the kool-aid, no ISRs or TSS cards. CYA!!!! Turn the camera on the supervisors! Car, lunch, personal, home.
