Starting With a Bang
- A series of shootings Friday left three people dead and 11 others wounded in Chicago, including a 27-year-old woman who was shot to death as she sat in a vehicle.
Multiple people approached the woman about 11:30 p.m. as she sat in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, Chicago police said. They pulled out weapons and opened fire.
She was shot in her back and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Has there even been a weekend this summer that didn't hit double digits? And within hours usually. You'd think that someone downtown might notice the time all these shooting occur and perhaps deploy the "extra" 600 coppers around two hours before shooting season opens.

How could there be a shooting in the 9 district? Darlin has the shot spotter room stacked with Officers.
SCC, you forgot to mention how this is all the police’s fault for not solving crimes sooner!!! Mah gawd, if only the police could do their jobs by being able to investigate crimes, have updated equipment, not be questioned for basic investigatory tactics, have bosses and a states attorney that will actually charge these animals with felonies, and dare I say...judges who will actually PUNISH the criminals? It’s all the police’s fault though.

Cmon, gold stars at HQ dont give a shit...its the same fucking thing every weekend….double digit shootings, brass on the media say Oh yea, police are doing their jobs, we have an extra 600 on duty and at least numbers are down from a yr ago, blah blah blah. That script is getting old. Meanwhile, the little midget is enjoying his vacation home in Michigan and sleeping well.
More overtime with zero results. Great plan there chief. Putting more fetal police on the street not such a good idea and a waste of money. Better to put that money in the community for shooting lessons so they become more efficient in their jobs. Every KIA is one less to have to seal with. The wounded heal and are back on the street looking for revenge.
I've noticed that the shootings occur predominantly on the weekends, yet I find it hard to believe that the shooters hold regular 9 to 5 jobs on the weekdays. This puzzles me...

Yeah, putting detectives and Homan Square in uniforms helped ease the pain of all the folks (or people) getting shot and killed. Maybe our "media" can do pieces on all the upper "leadership" on the department and their complete lack of knowledge on what to do beside put everybody in uniform as the answer. All our merit hack command staff, starting with Mr. Fenner, are the problem this police department faces each and every day.

Hire retirees for $25 an hour to watch shot spotter , max 8 days a month .
Put the officers that are on duty disability in shot spotter room , many want to work , just can’t do street duty or desk duty . Let them work 6,8 hours a day to earn their 75% tax free duty disability check .
Put the sworn officers back on the street.
When the policies of the Rahm, Kim Foxx, Bullwinkle, and Dart fail miserably, blame the police. CPD is a convenient political scapegoat for failed liberal politicians with failed liberal solutions.

Most earned their as you say, 75% tax free duty disability when they received that injury and the ones I know would gladly trade being able to work rather than having to go thru the injury and having their life change and not for the good

Nope. The lowest weekend tally so far this summer was 6/29-7/1 which put up 26 shot, 3 fatally. Only one weekend this year couldn't break into the double digits, 2/9-2/12 which posted just 8 shot, but 5 were fatal. That weekend saw temps in the low 20s with a foot of snow.
