Even the papers can't polish up this turd the "revruns" laid:
- They shut down Lake Shore Drive for a half an hour in the middle of rush hour. They made it to Wrigley Field for an hour of chants and speeches.
They didn’t disrupt the Cubs game. And no one was arrested or reported injured. But they sure got some attention.
Those were the highlights of a long-awaited march by a few hundred protesters who worked to highlight gun violence on the South and West sides by winding their way through the North Side on Thursday afternoon.
They couldn't even get two buses filled, and then they had to delay the march while they "waited" for other buses caught in traffic - buses that never materialized.
Including everyone who took public transportation in, the media estimated the crowd at "a couple of hundred." Our people (closer to the action) said bosses made the official count at 150, and that was being generous.
The few pictures that exist in the media are of the "forced perspective" angle that news photographers often use to make it look more crowded than it actually is. Like this one:

Yes, it was pathetic. I was right there before 6 pm. True, more police than protesters. When I arrived I was so astonished I've made a fool of myself (haha) asking one of the officers " Are we still waiting for the protesters?". He looked me like I was from the moon!
I would say 100 actually protesting it is generous. there were some people hanging around, with posters but weren't convincing at all. The impression was "I don't know why am here". Overall I had a really good laugh, was laughing all the way back.
I hope the circus season has just ended. I don't think I can handle another one this summer:)

ALL the Chicago Channels put a LOT of spotlight on this protest march with CBS(2) even cutting into the Dr. Phil show at about 3:45PM with a "Breaking News" warning.
WHY?? Why so much attention and yet - go look to see how much time was spent by ALL these channels in covering the Korean War remains coming into Hawaii. I don't think half of them spent over 10 seconds covering it - if they covered it at all.
The 6PM News on each channel was so saturated with this stupid march that we switched to the Trump Rally in Pennsylvania which was being covered at the time and got a lot more information as to what was really going on in the country.
Watching local TV Media is a waste of time.
If we want to really know what's going on in Chicago we read SCC. Seriously. We look at SCC as the real perspective on what is going on in Chicago - Not the TV news or the papers (who even will spend money on any of those any more? On 29 June 2017 EARs started a go-fund-me page for police accountability and reform with $150K as the goal. As of today he has $690.00 raised by 21 people in 13 months.

I loved it when they were in front of Wrigley Field and Tio was being interviewed by Tom Negovan from WGN and he made the comment that this was a protest organized by himself. Rev. Livingston immediately called him out for trying to take credit and Tio then tried to quite Rev. Livingston down. When they argue amongst one another over such trivial matters, they will never get the violence issue solved. Thank you all for proving that your just a bunch of self promoting goofs, just like phleger. All of the marches and speeches and chest pumping and the communities of color continue on with their genocide.

I must agree with the protest leadership that Rahm & Special Ed have to go but not for the same reason. These two feckless "leaders" let this protest go on and could have stopped it. I noticed that there were a lot of white people filling in to the protester group. Could they be last minute understudies for all the community members who were unable to attend because of their rigorous schedules? A lot of anti police signs calling for the police to stop murdering were displayed, which would make the low information voter believe the police are responsible for all the violence.
Tio Hardiman said he came to "redistribute the pain" (this is exactly what the liberal left does, they attack you and try to blame you for what they do-straight out of Saul Alinsky's hadbook, "Rules For Radicals") because the people in this neighborhood don't feel the pain we do. Well Tio they do feel the pain of all the invaders that have descended upon the neighborhood who are doing the shootings, stabbings, robberies, car jackings, burglaries and much more (just read Crime In Wrigleyville And Boystown).
So besides the inconvenience and the redeployment of police manpower how much did this one cost the taxpayers? I think there is a solution to lowering the costs to these protests since there will be a lot more now (thanks Rahm). These protesters are not content with using lets say, the Daley Center they want to be on the move. So since we now have permanent bike lanes why not permanent protest lanes on LSD and the expressways. We will take another lane from the cars so they can be ready at any time. What? You say that will inconvenience the motorists. Well they "need to feel the pain too."

I marched a few blocks with the Peoples and Folks; yes it was a Nothingburger, though I did get to see a lot of guys that I worked with in the past, now many of them are sergeants, and I also got to see two of my students who are now on the job. I came away with two points: 1.The City wasted massive resources, over bullshit! The ratio was easily three officers, maybe even four officers for every demonstrator.Not to mention the salt trucks from Streets and Sanitation. That the City would lay out that much resources in response to a couple of Storefront "Revends" was Amazing and Disturbing. 2. The White Mopes in the bars were Supportive in the hatred of Rahm, even though the demonstrators were clearly anti-Whitey. It mattered not, there was a genuine Unity in Hatred of Rahm! I have lived in this "Shity" for most of my life, I can remember the days of Harold Washington, when there were still White Ethnics and Race was an issue. What I saw today, was a UNITED HATRED OF A MAYOR, LIKE NOTHING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFETIME! It was almost frightening.The issue of Van Dyke was ever present, as was the suppression of the video. Lets protest section 8 housing in Garfield Ridge and march down archer Ave. We can shut down the street anytime we want and make something up to march on. It is now legal to shut down any street at any time as long as it's for a march!

From a little research there are dedicated protesting locations in the city.Most of these locations are in our parks. Over 50 protesters requires a permit and insurance bonding. Sidewalks can be used as long as pedestrians are not affected and store fronts are clear. If someone was injured during this protest and no insurance obtained by the protesters, the city could've been on the hook.

What I saw, I saw plenty of people going to the games or just walking around, laughing, commenting. I saw young people hanging out in the bars, well dressed girls and boys with the expression on their faces "I don't give a slightest fuck". I saw older people greeting officers, smiling. They didn't look hungry or needy. They don't look like like they miss something.
Rahm will win. Unless we have a strong candidate with a plan. Someone with charisma and wit. Someone who is not intimidated by money and power and can assure people the change is possible.

It's just depressing. In an ideal world, someone with political crossover appeal between business community and minority community would emerge and be able to offer up a consensus plan that would call for more REAL accountability by the community (i.e. long sentences for unlicensed weapon possession, parents put on house arrest for actions of minor children, etc.), in exchange for some sort of corporate investment plan for job development in downtrodden areas. The fact that Obama reached the end of his term and said "no thanks" to coming back to Chicago to use his clout to fix the issue leads me to believe not even he thinks there is a solution with a reasonable shot at actually working or showing progress.

The protest was a fucking joke. They couldn't even make up their mind what they were protesting about. One sign said Trump/Pence must go. Another sign said Rahm must go. Another sign was specifically directed at Van Dyke. Another claiming police brutality. Which is it people? Wasn't it supposed to be about violence in the hood? In addition to the subject matter confusion, the protestors were even fighting amongst themselves! Any protest this unorganized should never be allowed to take over major streets, or cause any disruption. Allowing this just set a precedence for more idiots to do what the fuck they want. It's about time the mayor grew some and had this kind of shit show stopped before it happens.

I watched the march on the local TV news yesterday. As soon as it became apparent that the crowd was less than 300, the station cut the overhead chopper feed and went to the reporters on the street.
150 people and there was enough room at Clark & Addison for hippies to scrawl chalk messages on the street. Coming up to Rickettsville to raise awareness of "black crime" is like going to a hurricane to remind people that water is wet. None of these people have ever read crime stats for that neighborhood, have they.

I live out of town and was googling a topic yesterday. Well when I clicked on the topic it routed me to the CNN website. A huge banner popped up on the website informing their normal moronic clientele that clicking on the banner would bring "live coverage of the Chicongo non-violence march". I laughed and left as soon as possible. Curiously I went back to the site a few hours later and after I waded through the 30 or 40 anti-Trump articles there was zero mention of the farcical "march". Nothing. So even the liberal, anti-American, blabber channel figured out it was a joke.

Maybe because he wasn’t a felon. Do some checking before you make a stupid comment. Also, he was sent to bond court as all other misdemeanor UUWs do. Everything was done correctly and it was all handled quickly and safely, great job by all involved.

Sorry to disappoint. McCarthy has been leading or beating Rahm in a lot of polls. He has a shot. Unless he gets paid off or promised something to drop out.
The police chief is usually more popular than the mayor, especially this one.
Daley ran Ramsey out of town because Ramsey would have been the next mayor.
And hold your nose...Rahm has been losing to a lot of potential candidates. Even Eddie Fenner beats him in a mayoral match up.
Tio Hardiman, and everyone affiliated with Ceasefire should be federally investigated, prosecuted,convicted and imprisoned
