Crime is Down! (NOT!)
Once again, the only real crime researching is being done by a blog (not this one):
- Muggings are being reported at least twice as often as they were just five years ago in the heart of Chicago’s business and tourism districts, according to city data. A police beat that covers the Magnificent Mile and Streeterville is now among the worst for robberies in the entire city.
And the police beat that covers the River North dining and nightlife district has seen robberies spike nearly 400% since 2014. If you want to get robbed in Chicago, River North is the place to go. It is now the #1 police beat for robberies citywide.
Overall, the Near North community area, which includes the Magnificent Mile, River North, and Gold Coast, is experiencing a 146% robbery increase compared to 2014 and a 5% increase compared to last year.
For the amount of taxes those neighborhoods generate and pay, those numbers are obscene.

It used to be Bt 1924 was the worst beat in the city for robberies. Belmont and Sheffield, Red Line Stop, etc.
Of course they will keep voting Democrat it's only going to get worse we turn into Detroit.

When you remove officers and send them west and south what did they think would happen. They may not be smart enough to finish high school but they are smart enough to go where the Police aren't. Just like in Baltimore except here they don't have balls to say it but the result is the same.

Was talking to a tourist who was trying to bait me into being a racist, asked me how to avoid crime in Chicago, I told him if a group of young men who look like me approach them they should be ok, if they look like they could be an ex-presidents son they should get off the street. The only handle got on it, here in Tinkletown, is the default of complaining.
When the meat wagons are stacked high with formerly effectively pesky predators, then the nature of said handle will have changed.
Until then, Tinkie Winkie Town remains a fertile field to harvest.
The obvious ironies here shall remain unenumerated, as a showing of mercy to the tenderized inhabitants of this most fertile of predatory harvesting fields.

Rahm and his minions are far more concerned about the "homeycides" than they are about robberies. Bloody weekends with 70 shot and 15 killed make national news, not robberies. The "image" of the jewel by lake michigan is far more important than the reality.
Gee, who is doing all of these robberies? Why doesn't the news give a full description so people can identify the offenders and have them arrested?

There used to be 2-4 cops assigned to hang out at the end of Randolph by DuSable Harbor / Columbia Yacht Club (CYC). For the most part, they would either hang out inside CYC or at the far end of the wall along CYC, sitting on the planter. Can't do much interdiction in either of those places.
How long before Rahm takes the last box out of his basement and leaves for good? It’s probably in the trunk of his car and ready to go on the last day as mayor!
They have been hanging around that area for 20+ years. They have been given room to act “ the fool”. And yes, the red line is the crime train.

What's new with the Killer Duck terrifying the law-abiding citizens of Rogers Park?
The typical robbery in River North involves members of the community targeting a lone drunk victim near the bars, nightclubs, or ATMs. The victims are usually too drunk to give any useful description beyond "m/1's" and cannot give a positive ID on a show-up. The nearby Ontario feeder ramp gives the robbers a quick escape back to the south and west sides. It's easy money for the shitheads, most of whom are juveniles.
Good luck finding a solution under the lenient cook county juvenile court system and the current restrictions imposed on CPD.
Just wait until the consent decree is in effect.

There is no correlation or guarantee between how much taxes are paid and how much police protection is given. But you know that.
Crime is down. Next question.
District 1 and District 18 has the highest tax base in Chicago. Lose those to criminals and there are real problems.
