Ok so I’ve read the comments last few posts about the name change and at first I was like “ok, she changed her name, maybe it’s just a coincidence she chose that same first name...”. Need an example?? He tells supervisors to motivate the troops to get gang dispersals. Also said, if we disperse 25, only do 2 ISR's. Where in the GO is this stated? Also said, if you roll up on a corner and everyone runs (which no longer happens) to just do ISR's detailing physical descriptions of those who ran. How is an ISR even required in that case when we never had the chance to investigate anything to begin with? This is the future of CPD leadership. Clueless and inept. And he won't be anywhere to be seen when officers that don't comprehend the magnitude of the current environment get jammed up.

Elizondo's arrest puts in jeopardy a big case involving the indictment of several high ranking members of the Four Corner Hustler gang. An interesting read to say the least. There was no mention in the article about Sgt. Elizondo being another stellar merit pick by the department. Shocking isn't it how no journalist can seem to do a story on the corrupt merit process right?

That's some of the worst advice ever, you apparently have not ever read the order. You can't even have a cell phone with a camera and if you don't believe that google chicago police general orders and look at the spar general order that says less serious transgressions. You can easily get out of a jam with the body worn camera by saying you "accidentaly" turned it on, it was issued by the department but never with your personal device. You can not take pictures or videos of anything on duty that is clearly written in the orders. The rumors that you propagate are the reason that coppers get jammed up. The proverbial "I heard or think that you have to do this" is terrible, do yourself a favor read the contract and every general order that comes out it may save you from taking some unpaid days off. Stay safe.

there was once a commander in 007, totally inept, racist and demanding, and might I say, corrupt. Whenever he demanded anything was contrary to department orders I asked for his order in writing. That is something he never did. But, he was now my enemy and tried to get me a number of times, without luck. Just ask for a clarification, in writing, of what he wants.

It's already here. In 32 years I have not seen more incompetent people in charge. There have always been merit hacks in key positions but there was usually someone of lesser rank that was intelligent close by to stop the violations and illegal orders. Saw posts yesterday about the absolute fool at Unit 050. Myself and other officers of color have tried to talk some sense into this complete asshole but he’s just gotten worse. Really what is the military going to do to stop caravan open fire? I do have a degree. Did you quit the job to take the new one or are you just doing it as a side gig? I’ve went on some of the major job websites, but really didn’t see much. Just looking for advice from people that have said enough is enough and left this job. How do you feel now? Did you feel you made a mistake? Is there a lot of opportunity out there to make comparable money and benefits?

Are you a police officer? How could you be so uninformed that you don't know that there are now more jobs available in the US than there are unemployed people. Get out there and see what's available. Don't be surprised that the private sector jobs don't offer more than 3 weeks vacation after 5 years, maybe 5 paid holidays or you work them and get paid time and a half but no comp time, no BFD days, no P Days, no automatic raises every contract, even if it is rather small, starting pay never goes down, the fairly unlimited medical we have, the IOD that has saved many an officer that got badly injured on this job, only need 2 years of college to make a good living, not a masters degree, a pension that gives you half of your salary after 20 years and maxes out in 30 years at 75% with a cola, your first promotion to a line supervisor (SGT) guarantees you a 6 figure salary for 40 hours per week, good medical with dental and vision, no duty availability, probably no uniform allowance and you get the privilege in the private sector to have to continue to upgrade your skills because eventually, you earn more than the job is worth and they decide it's up or out for you.
The down sides on this job is if you try to do it, everyone in the world tries to jam you up and you just might get murdered or maimed doing it. Unless of course you're one of those lousy rats that try to get an inside office job 2 years into your career. All the while, puffing up and pounding your chest that you're the "real police". House mouse, small rat...

Bond Set at $3 Million for Bloomingdale Man Charged With Shooting at Police Officers
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Bloomingdale Director of Public Safety Frank Giammarese announced today that bond has been set for a Bloomingdale man accused of shooting at two Bloomingdale Police Officers outside his home. Raymond Vieyra, 42 (d.o.b. 2/11/1976) of 314 Plymouth Lane, appeared at a bond hearing this morning where Judge John Kinsella set bond at $3 million with 10% to apply. Vieyra has been charged with three counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, a Class X Felony and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, a Class 2 Felony.

I left the job and feel great. I'm doing health care insurance fraud. Making around 70k. Started at 61 worked up to 71.
Just get a few certifications. My health has been greatly improved.

Trooper Werner Foerster was shot and killed with his own service weapon after backing up another trooper who had stopped a vehicle containing two men and a woman on New Jersey Turnpike.
The subjects started struggling with the troopers and were able to disarm Trooper Foerster. One of the men opened fire, killing Trooper Foerster and wounding the other trooper. Despite the wounds, the other trooper was able to return fire and killed of the subject.
The three subjects were members of the Black Liberation Army. The two surviving subjects were convicted of Trooper Foerster's murder, but the female suspect escaped from prison in 1979 and fled to Cuba, where she has remained at large.

Well, I typed out a response to this, with quotes from a few orders, like I have in the past when this topic comes up. I somehow didn't hit submit, or they decided not to post it, as they've done several times in the past. I even mentioned, again, that secretly recording someone is against the law in Illinois. You can't record a conversation without the consent of all parties, and you can't use your personal device, like your cell phone, to record anything on duty.
