Car as a Weapon Again?
When actual punishment is scarce, what's to stop this from occurring more often?
- Two people were injured Thursday, including an Oak Forest Police officer, following a carjacking in which the injured officer fired his gun at the fleeing vehicle, police said. The carjacker, described as a male in his late teens or early 20s, was at large as of late Thursday, Oak Forest Police said.
Shortly before noon, Oak Forest Police were advised of an aggravated carjacking involving a gun that had taken place in Orland Park. Oak Forest officers saw a vehicle matching the description traveling at a very high rate of speed east on 159th, and the vehicle attempted to turn north onto Cicero Avenue, where it hit a construction worker, police said.
The driver got out of the vehicle and fled on foot east on 159th, with Oak Forest officers in pursuit, police said. The man carjacked a second vehicle, and as officers tried to apprehend him, he ran over one of the officers with the vehicle, who fired his weapon toward the stolen white Mazda, police said.
Great description once again by the Tribune - watch out for the "males." They're dangerous as Hell.

Oak Forest Police Officer Involved Shooting, Aggravated Vehicular Highjacking, Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer
On 10-18-2018 at 11:57 the Oak Forest Police Department was advised of an aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm which occurred in Orland Park IL.
Oak Forest Officers observed the vehicle matching the description in the Orland Park incident traveling at a very high rate of speed east-bound 159th Street from Central Ave. Several other Oak Forest Police officers observed the vehicle at a high rate of speed continue E/B 159th.
At 159th street and Cicero Ave, the vehicle attempted to turn N/B Cicero Ave and struck a pedestrian construction worker.
The m/b late teens/early twenties offender then exited the stolen vehicle and fled on foot E/B 159th street with Oak Forest Police Officers in foot pursuit of the fleeing offender. At this time, the offender committed a second armed carjacking and officers on foot attempted to take the offender into custody.
While attempting to the offender into custody, the offender struck the officer and ran over the officer with the vehicle. During this attempted arrest, the officer discharged his weapon towards the offender. The offender fled in the stolen white Mazda and was last seen by officer’s E/B 159th St from Pulaski Ave. and is still at large.

The suspect is described as a male black in his early twenties, 5-foot-8-inches to 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

That p.o.s. broke the 88 year old driver's leg. Same Walgreens had an armed robbery (held a customer hostage with knife to her throat) 11 months ago.

Oak Forest and Orland Park falls under The Guidelines Cook County Commmunity Immunity Program.
All armed violent feral overflow from Chicago will be tolerated.
Besides all that, COPRAh is scouring the burbs looking for that victim of poleece harassment knowing this is a CPD initiated coverup.
firing at a vehicle that is "fleeing" the scene is a bad idea. You probably cannot stop the vehicle and there is no way to know where the projectiles will end up going.
