- “Sworn, full-duty Department members who are assigned to units within Public Safety Headquarters that are non-essential/non-operational on Monday, 08 October 2018, may volunteer to work for the Bureau of Patrol. These sworn members will be assigned to field duties within districts, at the discretion of the Chief of the Bureau of Patrol. Members electing to work will contact Sgt. VG in the Bureau of Patrol no later than 1400 hours on Thursday, 04 October 2018.”

Funny on how they remembered to put in the words "field duty". I'm sure there were plenty of rocket scientist who thought they would fill in for inside district personnel just so they could say they worked a district.

That comes out Every holiday SCC. It’s required due to an agreement with the FOP. In case people Want to work the holiday instead of being Day Off Holiday.
Why haven’t they adjusted hours or canceled days off for 35th street or airport law enforcement? They could use those coppers for the marathon. The department is pulling a fast one by canceling Sunday for the marathon under the possible riots. The marathon is a preplanned event.

Correct. And HQ personnel are working 12 hours and ready to be deployed, most likely to 001 and 018. This directive assumes no days off cancelled by Monday. Which isn’t likely.
What about retirees ? I'm ready,able and willing to help save my City from the hordes of savages. My uniform still fits and I keep in shape. I'll work for free. I simply ask that if I get hurt the City cover me.

Send that rude detective who answers the phone at the criminal sex unit at HQ. He ought to be a barrel of fun working the prisoner wagon assignment for all the under cover investigators.
Since I have read that some unit officers have been put on the street without radios, as a retired officer, close, but out of state, will offer my services if the pay is worth the time and I'm NOT issued a radio. 12 hour shifts with no radio, and I have friends, and other places on Michigan Ave. to spend my tour time, I would welcome that job.
This has been done in past, it is because admin has nothing to do on holidays (civilians are not working) so instead of them getting to online shop, etc. they are told they only get to work if they go on street.
However it really doesn't work, in districts the admin just signs out radio and then say that there are no cars available and just go sit in the office with lights out.
Must be nice to have that option!
People on my watch have been denied personals for weddings etc and we MUST work our rdos.
Another asshole move by fathead Ed to take care of his bimbos and all the other connected police imposters!

Always talking about “house mice”. Can anyone come up with a number for how many there actually are in the department. Or even just 35th St. How many sworn personnel are assigned to Community Services? Couldn’t civilians do that job?

They have. Most units at HQ were told to leave a few POs inside to deal with things that need to be handled - like Finance so you get paid, tech people-to fix your cameras when they break, and timekeepers -again so people get paid etc. But they are still working 12 hours with RDOs canceled. The rest are out on 12 hours like everyone else, except those on limited duty.
But hey, let's all bitch about what everyone else is doing with no knowledge of it, at a time when we should ALL be sticking together.
And they get duty availability pay too?
what a bunch of bs. I was a BID desk person and still had to go to NATO (didn't really mind and had fun) but how the fuck do these inside suck personnel get to pick and choose there assignments?

You know it’s bad when The Association of District and HQ Administration House Mice had postponed their Annual Octoberfest.
Dozens are assigned to collect and disseminate all pre-riot activity, 3 rotations of 2 person copier paper lumpers, several dozen relegated to monitor cameras, several pools of rotating drivers, there’s command staff donut rinners and coffee makers, several teams of chair arrangers.
If you have to drive to your post through a District - it’s street duty.
Is the Med Sect overwhelmed and seeking addl help yet or is the cutoff already in place?

You might be surprised at the number of “essential officers” at headquarters. All the bosses office help are essential

The Dept does what it wants with patrol. Notice that FOP has been quiet as a mouse. I feel the defense team did a poor choice by placing Van Dyke on the stand and his own account of I was shooting at the knife sealed his coffin. He should have been prep for it and it looks
Like the only training he received was e-learning on how to testify. Ex: I was shooting at an armed offender that refused verbal commands to drop the knife, his eyes, his posture, and his wielding of the knife in an aggressive manner placed me & other officers in fear. Hopefully the judge will be lenient on his sentencing. God Bless brother in blue you were the lamb sacrificed for BLM.
Make sure that FOP does something or recall the FOP President!

you can't force someone to take DOH you have to give them the opportunity to work the holiday

You must be high, for two reasons. If retirees work (and I'm a retiree), that's being a scab. Theres a union, or something resembling one. And #2..take care of you? Ha fucking ha. They dont take care of our injured officers now, takes an act of Congress to get a procedure done or bill paid. I admire your willingness to help, but stay home and guard your home and family.
