- previous history of threatening women
- previous incident(s) of domestic violence
And still:
- he got past a State background check
- he got a CCL without a Dart objection
- he got hired by the CHA if our readers are correct - even after being fired from the CFD Academy for being AWOL
And now we have Officer Jimenez's sacrifice being used by the Sun Times, Mendoza, Foxx and Rahm as political fodder for more gun control, even in the face of constant, continuous and endless failures of the system already in place.
Perhaps someone (hello investigative reporters?) should look into this misdirection and see who or what clout was involved in this.

Off topic, but something that I would like to share...
Today, at Unit 050, a couple of fire rigs from O’Hare came to the unit, dropped off a bunch of pizzas and pops, and also made a cash donation for Officer Jimenez’s family. Stunned only begins to describe this act of kindness. Every one of those guys said, “sorry for you loss”, or words to that effect. I’m not sure if this happened citywide or not, but this was a classy move by CFD. We may kid around about Police bs. Fire, but when things go bad, we’re all on the same side. A heartfelt thank you to all of them.

Retired CPD, applied for my CCL in March of 2016 and paid the application fee. A few month after hearing nothing, I went back to the State Police website to see if my application had been processed. A few months later, I started getting letters from the State Police saying my application was being reviewed. I'd receive the same letter every other month. After several unsuccessful phone calls and letters, I'd still get the letters from the state police that my application was being reviewed. Finally received my CCL in June of the following year. And as I recall, the Sheriff wanted to take over management of the issuing of these licenses. How many of those out of jail on electronic monitoring are unaccounted for?
I don't recall any issues when Sheahan was the Sheriff. He dealt with more severe overcrowding at the jail than Dart claims. He didn't try to reform whores, rescue puppies, file lawsuits against Craigs list, manage capital improvement projects like a quarry in Robbins, allow canine roommates for inmates, throw pizza parties for inmates that didn't whack off in front of female personnel, or teach inmates how to record rap music. Does anyone have a recent job description detailing what the duties of the Cook County Sheriff? If so, could you kindly pass it on to Dart. Does the County still have a line item in their budget for the position or Public Guardian? Maybe that's what Dart thinks the Sheriff's job description is. And lastly, would somebody tell him to get a haircut, loose the Mt. Carmel fleece and quit referring to the Cook County jail as "his jail"? Better yet could someone get this guy another job, he sucks at the one he has.
As with every problem child public servant the question that should be asked is "who's their Rabbi?"

I go to my Chemo treatment with a 1911 45acp in a bag with my chemo pump and extra ammo. I started carry my gun because of this incident. While waiting for treatment I observed a mental patient with a care giver also waiting for treatment. Well you guessed it, the mental guy M/1, under 30yrs. 6-3, 280 became angry because he had to wait for his treatment and began chocking his F/1 care giver. Hospital security arrives and basically does nothing to resolve the problem, now the nut is threatening other patients in the waiting room. A short time later he is removed to another area of the hospital and is treated. Since Obama Care there are longer waiting times to see a doctor, goofs like this mental patient are the norm and believe me you are in danger of getting injured or killed. Only my wife knows I'm carrying a gun, however, if my doctor ever found out, her liberal mind probably would explode.

My guess would be someone told him a CCL is good for 5 years and costs $150 for the 5 years while IROCC card cost either $75 or $100 per year depending on whether you qualify with both a revolver and an automatic or just one and you have to qualify each year

In the case of Mercy, at one time they were armedtil an idiot inbred Daley cousin took over running the hospital and decided that armed guards" aren't what we're about"., Same mutant Daley family who banned handguns for years in Chicago to little or no result, except to weaken law abiding citizens. But I digress, often times we answer calls to protect strangers from psycho street people, asshole characters of baby mama dramas, or just not fit for society feral savages, often without benefit of a "utility belt" . And we go at it hand to hand, because it's our job, goof. Think before you speak, maybe one of us idiots will be getting between your mom at a doctors appointment and a psycho piss bum with a Ginzu.

Uh, the deceased officer does not fit their "criteria", but surely they will be very sad in private.
We had gangsters in the '50s and '60s in Chicago but this kind of stuff was nonexistant because kids were raised in the church and were taught empathy for others and respect for the police and the Law. Look at this world of shit now brought to you by Leftism.com.
