Burke’s political army, which gathered 7,193 signatures on the nominating petitions he submitted to election officials last month to secure a spot on the February ballot.
It’s the toughest election fight the 74-year-old power broker has faced since replacing his late father on the Chicago City Council in 1969. Burke is in the crosshairs of an investigation that saw FBI agents raid his City Hall and 14th Ward offices over the past few weeks as he’s battling four Hispanic opponents who say it’s time for voters in the predominantly Hispanic ward to end the 50-year reign of the longest-serving alderman in Chicago history.
His fate could be in the hands of his longtime political operative Peter Andrews Jr., a retired Chicago Park District plumber, who found federal agents on the porch of his house shortly before they raided the alderman’s offices.
Once again, the guy the feebs visited immediately prior to serving the warrant on Burke's offices.

Don't look for much to happen to any of these Chicago politicians. See what's happening in Washington. In the last two years with all the corruption that has been uncovered on the Clintons, Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Mills, Rosenstein, FBI upper mgt. and a ton of others, nothing is happening to them.
The FBI will need about 10 public corruption squads to even put a dent in the political corruption in this City.
Burke has stayed beyond is expiration date, and is a Classic Example of Democrat Party, Ethnic "Identity Politics". But today his fiefdom is no longer Irish and White Ethnic. Perhaps before Burke leaves Office, the Pedophile Concealing Archdiocese of Chicago, will declare his Ward office a HOLY PLACE, because of the miracles that have taken place within those walls. Men who were unemployed, left the office with high paying jobs. Patrolmen and firefighters walked in; and left as Police Sergeants and Fire Lieutenants. Young incompetent lawyers, who could not survive in private practice; suddenly found themselves slated as Democrat candidates for Judgeships! Businesses on the verge of leaving the City; miraculously find their taxes reduced. These are Real Miracles! Master Burke, Occasionally breaks into speaking in Latin, to dazzle the uneducated masses around him. He is Chauffeured around like royalty, by Chicago Police Officers who double as caddies when they carry his golf clubs. He is honest to God, Chicago Democrat Royalty! Yet, he still wears an ankle holster, with a snub-nose revolver in it, as if he has something to fear. And these days maybe he does have something to fear, something FEDERAL. Burke, Madigan(s), Cullertton, Daleys; this is the Royalty that Political Cronyism and Corruption has created to Reign and exploit, rather than Govern over all us peasants. But what Burke and now a whole slew of Black Democrat Hacks, fail to understand is that everything in life is Finite, even for Political Royalty. Burke has his offices "swept" twice a year so I doubt the Feds had any bugs there...unless, of course, they have newer technology that can go undetected. Also, the Alderman has said to those close to him, "I treat everyone I talk to as if he or she is wearing a wire." Everyone laughs, of course, but he is dead serious.
If Burke is still running at election time he will win hands down. Democratic voters will keep electing the same crooks over and over and then wonder how things got so bad. You cannot fix stupid.
Here is how it will play out for Burke. He will evoke the Trump hates me strategy. That awful Trump wants me out of office. The lemming Chicago anti Trump crowd will eat it up and put him back in office.
He could be convicted and still win. He is a charter member of the Chicago Machine.

Pete Andrews has been holding Burke's coat since the 1960's on the Boulevard in Visitation. i think he's been the 14th Ward go to guy for jobs for so long he knows where skeletons are buried that even Eddie Burke has forgotten about. As an earlier poster wrote, he had to quit his City job after his wife got caught up in the Hired Truck scandal.
If news reports are true with the FBI visiting Pets Andrews home it sounds like problems in the 14th Ward. With all that has been going on in D.C. with Trump people taking falls for lying to the FBI you wonder how far Petey boy is willing to go to protect his long time pal?

Speaking of law, SCC any talk around town how the new amendment to the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act (IWPCA) affects CPD?
"The amended law (820 ILCS 115/9.5) requires employers to reimburse all "necessary expenditures … incurred by the employee within the employee's scope of employment and directly related to services performed by the employer." It defines "necessary expenditures" to mean "all reasonable expenditures … required of the employee in the discharge of employment duties and that inure to the primary benefit of the employer."

Burke is in real trouble re. holding on to his aldermanic seat. I believe an Hispanic is running against him, and his ward has become largely Hispanic. Last year, in order to help his brother (who lost in another Ward), and himself - he cut ties with the Trump organization as smart campaigning tied Burke to deporting illegals - which didn't play well with the now majority constituents in his ward. If he's indicted before the election, I'd say he's toast. Good Riddance.
Have the Fed's spoken to Burke's chief investigator for workmen's compensation claims. Tom Rowan will squeal like a pig if they subpoena him. When they spoke to him about Betty Lou Maltese he told everything so he would not be indicted.

It's high time Burke was cast out...but 4 Hispanic contenders? That will only insure that Burke will win again. Those 4 opponents need to get together and decide among themselves who is in the strongest position to take Burke on, and support him. It's important that this be Burke's last stand. Make it happen!
I will trust the FBI when Hillary is behind bars until then nothing they do will impress me. Burke is still walking free and I don't expect that to change until they welcome him to hell.
IF he can win in 2019, I don't know if he can gerrymander the 14th Ward enough to make it more favorable to him. There just aren't enough old machine ethnics left on the southwest side.
