The one from 24 would sit in her chair with one leg tucked under her behind and the other swinging freely (like a 13 year old girl) and not know what to do with herself or her time. Must be nice to be on an actual ghost payroll. As they say, the rich get richer. Is she the youngest captain in recent years? This place truly is a joke, no respect.
It's such a sham. We have had the worst supt. In history along with the worst AG who couldn't find any relevant issues in front of her if it was on her desk, replaced by another one who has his own agenda and a bought off IG who couldn't see cheating right in front of him.

I remember JS from TRU days. She never played the “do you know who my father is” card. She’s good at what she does. I have yet to meet someone smarter and more dedicated. He was a complete idiot when in IAD. This guy was perfect?
Goofy Kirby believed his crap. Then Riviera believed his crap again.
Most of his cases were closed sustained. Then he tried to fire the members
Until months later when evidence was reviewed and then became questionable.
He once testified against other IAD investigators.
And his testimony turned out to be some real good fabrications.
Not one at police board member trusted anything he testified on.
One board member stated once, “none of his alleged evidence has anything to do with the allegations”
Then he starts the lieutenant testing scandal. What a way to get promoted?
Even the Sgt union could not believe him.
After this he got promoted merit
So now after 3 years they promote him again. Merit

Wiser, Bulnes and Barz, all decent people. All of the other are undeserving hacks that don't deserve the blue shirt they used to have. And like several of the others, thinks not only that he has earned his promotions, this one included, but that he deserves them. Then there is Muhammad, Parham, and Stevens. Shes not deserving, but at most shes got half a brain, unlike the other two that don't have a full functioning brain between them. Both ride the coat tails of their masters and get the crumbs they leave. Cocky, do nothing and demand, that's all they're good for. Look out if you geykt any if these. Stay away and never, ever trust a decision they make.

Now it actually seems like they are trying to see just how much they can fuck up this department, intentionally.

Since you brought it up, Area South finished #1 in 2017 in clearance rates. Melissa brought in her Lieutenant, worthless Myers who I worked with here when he was a Detective. Nice guy but worthless then and worthless now. She also brought in at least 6 of her hand picked just as worthless as her Sergeants and moved our Lieutenant down the hall. Now ask this sorry excuse for a Chief where did Area South finish in 2018? Dead last. Area South who leads the city in violent crime is dead last. The papers are just waiting. They will help clear your air Melissa. Now move your ghost Lieutenant out of our Area and the sorry hand picked people you sent with you. And her boy Eddie is sending more Sergeants to the Areas to help cover for her and Detectives. You all have no clue what the issue is and it's not a need for more Sergeants. Wiser is arrogant? Really? Give me a single example? that guy is probably one of the most down to earth people I know on this job. He runs the IRT team (Police shooting team). Hard working, FAIR, probably guilty of being to nice at times to undeserving assholes, but this guy would give you the dirt off his back.
If you were given the training and then wern't made , you should max on the deferred comp and start looking to get out as soon as possible.Sticking around is pointless. You are not one of the chosen and will never see that extra bar. Get out!
@3:10 Parham wasn't even a Lt yet when the cheating scandal was being investigated. He never made merit and is a great boss and always willing to help

OT: Capt. D. Harris is in 015 the other day and follows a po around who was down on rifle training. Upon return he had to switch cars due to bad breaks, thus move his gear from one vehicle to another. The Capt. complains to the 3rd watch Lt, wondering why he was moving bags around from squad car to squad car, and then questions of the officer is a “Dope Dealer.” The Officer got wind of what the captain said and obtained a CR# on the captain. That kind of ignorant statement can ruin a solid career. I’m glad that the officer is holding his feet to the fire. Now inspectors are in 015 for retaliation.
Beyond disgusting, and I have been gone for almost 6 years. I recognize a few names on this bullshit list though. One of my favorite/most fair Captain said at his retirement party, easily attended by 300 of us, "They have bastardized the rank of Captain). RIP Capt. (former Cmdr.) Joe Mullen!!! BTW, he got demoted by the daley crew for supporting the best Mayor ever, Jane Byrne!!!

Out of 267 Lts currently on the job, the list had 158 names on it. That leaves 109 who are either retiring soon, have open investigations, didn't fill out their application correctly or just didn't want any part of this nonsense. I personally know people who, the last time around, forgot to sign their app, forgot to hit the "submit" button, or some other minor oversight. They didn't make the cut.
I've never been one of the "Haves" on this job, so I never expect anything. That way, I'm not disappointed. LOL I earned both of my promotions by rank score, so I'm leaving with my head held high!
The dumbing down of the police department continues.
Here’s an interesting fact. Apparently the smartest and most qualified Lt’s came from the same two classes. 8 of the 10 in fact. 4 were promoted 01 Mar 16 and 4 on 01 Dec 16. Not even 3 years as Lts. What did they achieve in a short time and what’s so special about those two classes.

Don't forget WINES, When she was in narcotics she was the training sergeant who never held training. She was asked to due relief for furlough sergeants and cried that she couldn't take a team out because she didn't know what she was doing. Word came down from E. This is why Gold Braid Pensions need to be stripped out of the pension system. Nothing higher then a Lt pension Period. Take the spot with the pay and take home car. But not a higher pension than a Lt. They can keep their pension contribution over a Lt's contribution too, for fairness sake. Giving the clouted 10's of thousands of dollars for 3 for years of service is BS. You never hear of any of these guys dying after they retire, just moving on to bigger jobs that pay even more with their clout it's ridiculous.

Some officers and bosses are pointing the finger at him for some of his illegal criminal conduct while he was an IAD sergeant.
He sandbagged at least one boss, and tried to get him fired. Rumors are that boss is coming after Barz’ sscalp.
Barz tried to get two officers fired illegally, and both beat the case.
Barz was being looked at for overtime theft while working as a IAD medical roll integrity investigator.
If you read that puff piece in the Chicago Reader about Dan Herbert , you’ll find out about his false arrest of Spaulding and Echevarria, who sued a bunch of bosses and Emanuel and won a 2 million dollar judgment from the city over them hiding misconduct of Sgt. Watts and IAD, you’d see what kind of evil backstabbing piece of work Barz is.
Not to mention Barz, as a IAD sergeant, covered up the Chicago Police Lieutenant Examinations Cheaters scandal, at the behest of Juan Rivera, Eugene Williams and other bosses , so he could get promoted.

A bargain at that price. Pay increase, OT and think of the pension. 5K for Sgt years ago, 10 to 20 for Lt then the 50K
Well maybe not once a Lt you could use that money to make commander. Higher pay and higher pension because of the Gold Braid. ThT the way to go. Not the captain route

After reading this list I never thought I would say this but maybe a Consent Decree would be the right way to go. Bulnes should be ashamed of herself [and she knows why]. Glen White and Gil Calderon never met a bosses ass they would not kiss to get ahead. Murphy enough said. Stevens a very nice person but my daddy is a boss and I like this office in Homan Square. I don't know the rest but I am sure its the same shit. Something has got to change it wont but just hoping.

Name one suicide that was a result of not getting promoted. If it was a Lt or Capt they probably didn’t deserve the first one so why complain
Most suicides on this job were not job related, marital problems. Financial problems, alcohol and health problems were the cause
The only way to get promoted to Captain is to first either cheat on the Lt's exam or be merit promoted to Lt.
Jill do nothing Stevens. What a joke, no clue what police work is. Thank God her know nothing husband isn't eligible for Lt otherwise he would have been promoted already. The two of them haven't done a lick of police work in their careers. Oh but they will tell you about their time in TRU and his time in narcotics. Rick Wiser is probably one of the smartest people on this job. Worked with him in several different units and he always impressed me. I don't know if he was ever a merit promotion or not, but if he was, I certainly wouldn't have a problem with it. He should be the definition of what a merit candidate is.

This is why Gold Braid Pensions need to be stripped out of the pension system. Nothing higher then a Lt pension Period. Take the spot with the pay and take home car. But not a higher pension than a Lt. They can keep their pension contribution over a Lt's contribution too, for fairness sake. Giving the clouted 10's of thousands of dollars for 3 for years of service is BS. You never hear of any of these guys dying after they retire, just moving on to bigger jobs that pay even more with their clout it's ridiculous.

Wiser was a sgt for close to 20 years. They took one lieutenants list down after the promotion list came out on a Thursday. Rick was #2 right behind crazy Adam Zelitzky. He was supposed to report on Monday and they took the list down on Saturday to keep Zelitzky a sgt. You’re a sour and petty fool to come on here bad mouthing Wiser.

I can't speak for everyone on this list but I can for Rick Wiser. If anyone has anything negative to say, I'm going to say that you have never worked for the man. Honest, hardworking, fair and never loses his cool even when it would be warranted. Had to be retreaded. How does this border line retarded women who was at home sleeping when one of her guys was Killed in the Line of Duty keep getting promoted? Michael Barz did do the cheating lieutenant's investigation. He covered it up and was awarded a meritorious bump to lieutenant for his corruption. He landed as the 010th district tact lieutenant where he is widely hated.
Matt Brown was the admin sgt who prepped cases for the IAD Dept Advocate. Matt was shown the door after issues with overtime reared its ugly head. Only the clout of his, his son in law, and his daughter stopped him from being criminally charged. He left IAD and retired.
If you want to hear the whole story, keep pressing the issue. Barz is as dirty and corrupt as they come.

That leaves 109 who are either retiring soon, have open investigations, didn't fill out their application correctly or just didn't want any part of this nonsense. I personally know people who, the last time around, forgot to sign their app, forgot to hit the "submit" button, or some other minor oversight. They didn't make the cut.

He is a very nice guy but he was a merit Sgt and he was a merit Lt, regardless of the circumstances. Also we took this last Lieutenants exam and before we got our results they promoted one more class off the old list. I remember that because I was very happy for a friend who made it. Once we got our results from this last exam they threw out the old list and started promoting from the new list in January or February of 2016.

You don’t know shit. Barz did the initiation report based on an anonymous letter received by the sgts Union. Matt Brown was given the Investigation. Brown was twice the administrative sgt but never worked for the advocate.

Wrong.
Barz initiated the investigation. They gave it to Brown because he wasn't taking the lieutenant's test. The complainant was anonymous. It went to the IG after the complainant came forward.
I'm not defending Barz or putting him down. He's just not the one who had the case.

He also thought maria maher was the greatest...remember that? Once you knew fill you learned he does not have a poor judge of character, he has a need for power and control over others.
