(CPD?) Retiree Plane Crash
- Southern California authorities have identified the pilot of a small plane involved in a deadly weekend crash as a retired Chicago police officer.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department says the pilot killed Sunday was 75-year-old Antonio Pastini of Gardnerville, a northern Nevada community.
Authorities are still trying to identify four people killed when part of the twin-engine Cessna fell into a house in Yorba Linda and ignited an intense fire. The condition of the bodies may require use of DNA.
National Transportation Safety Board investigator Maja Smith says witnesses described the aircraft coming out of a cloud and its tail and other parts breaking off as it rapidly descended.
UPDATE: Fake CPD badge and credentials? So now does IAD send personnel out to sunny California to recover said forgeries and conduct an investigation while checking out Disneyland? Just don't send the people who "investigated" the molesting sergeant or the cheating lieutenants.

It didn't just "fall out of the sky" the engines were screaming as if the plane was accelerating. Video of it was caught on Nest Cam.

So if he was a retired plumber would that headline read the same way?? I think not . What does it matter if he was a retired cpd officer. It’s a freaking tragic accident for everyone involved
The news said he was currently 75 years old and he retired in the mid-1980's with 21 years. If true, he would have been 41 years old when he retired. Supposing it is possible, it does not seem plausible.
Regardless, RIP Officer and may God bless the four as yet unidentified persons on the ground.
That had to be awful.
Dental records much faster and cheaper if thet are available.
Pilot Here.
Classic case of Graveyard Spiral.
I live about 2 miles from the crash site.
Was solid overcast.
This was no small Cessna, 10 seats total.
Flying alone in IMC you should engage the autopilot asap.
Always follows the same pattern, wings and possibly tail found quite a distance
away from the main wreck site.
The spiral pulls the wings off.
The disgusting media can’t help theirselves.... they show their true colors and anti police slant.

CPD says they have no record of his employment. Something isn’t right
"The news said he was currently 75 years old and he retired in the mid-1980's with 21 years. If true, he would have been 41 years old when he retired. Supposing it is possible, it does not seem plausible."
He owned a business in Nevada. Some guys don't want 30 years, they want out and have the means to do so.

If he was former military, they would have mentioned that too, as well as musician, actor, polititican, etc. If you're somewhat in the public eye, it gets mentioned. Why so sensitive? It didn't affect his demise.
Sounds like he might have been incapacitated, heart attack, passed out before the spiral down. Witnesses said tail came off first, then the wings. Was a big two engine and most pilots go to auto pilot right after takeoff
The news is now saying that the CPD credentials found on the pilot's body are counterfeit.
YORBA LINDA, Calif. (WLS) -- A 75-year-old man was at the cockpit controls during a horrific plane crash in Southern California on Super Bowl Sunday, police said.
Police initially said Tony Pastini was a former Chicago police officer. Tuesday morning, police said that Pastini was not a former Chicago police officer, but apparently had false Chicago police credentials on him for an unknown reason.
Seems the Chicago Cop ..Wasnt....a cop that is...Phoney ID and badge...CBS LA...
An article is reporting CPD has no record of him. He might have been from a suburb.

Instrument Meteorological Conditions?

RIP
He was NOT CPD

Why did he have CPD credentials?
The guy was a phony and never was police in Chicago. The OC Sheriff is saying he was carrying a fake badge and ID. Chicago PD confirmed he never worked for the CPD. He was supposedly in the restaurant biz. Kinda fishy......Story here:

How horrifying.
God rest their souls.
News here in California is saying that the pilot had "phony CPD retired officer credentials and he changed his first and last name. He supposedly owned a tree farm in Oregon and a Tai restaurant somewhere in Nevada. Something "ain't" right here.
Pilot error. At 75 died doing what he loved, not the worst way to go. Beats ending up in nursing home waiting to die.
Fake badge was never CPD. Hmmm
Hey pilot here the plane exploded in the sky. What caused that?
Antonio Pastini. 75. Carring fake credentials showing he was retired CPD. Airplanes registration also in question.
For anyone who read post at 2/05/2019 11:27:00 AM---- Instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) is an aviation flight category that describes weather conditions that require pilots to fly primarily by reference to instruments.
He wasn't CPD and not retired from any PD. He used an alias. Wonder what else he was up to?
Trib website is saying CPD has no record of him.
Not CPD, fake credentials per channel 9 .
He had fake CPD credentials. He was NOT the police. Strange
Witness Protection? Maybe this guy was hidden away by the Feds. Might be a real Chicago copper put in hiding by the Feds.
A scam to "retire carry" across state lines?
Did he have a retired law enforcement carry card?
Drug runner?
Check for sprouts.
He was flying hundreds of kilos daily for El Chapo Guzman.
Used the fake retired policeman credentials in case he got pulled over by the airplane police to curry the ol’ “professional courtesy”.
Dope dog hit on his plane, but alas, nothing more than a bag of Snausages were found in the glovebox.
Poco Joe Moreno loaned him the plane, but didn’t get a chance to report it stolen yet. Too late to do that now.
Yes, I’ve been drinking since 0900 when breakfast was accompanied by several bloodies.
R.I.P. anyway.
Knowing the highly respected and solid word of information minister, GoogleMyHeinie, it is likely he was looking at a current (active) list provided by never-on-the-streets, incompetent house mouse of the Office of StupidIntended - Jugghaid Special Ed, esquire.
The not so sharp caught again with their thumbs up their asses trying to put out some blame when the phone rings after 1300 hrs.
Questions needing answers overwhelms the sick and tired SpecialEd. Dame he’s about to fallout.

Who knows? Maybe he was a mobster in witness protection program and the Feds set him up with the credentials and new identity. What a great cover.
F this guy. Carrying fraudulent CPD Creds.
Same with channel 7. Star that was found in his cockpit was reported stolen in 1978
Folks,
I live in the area of the crash and responded to the scene, as you might imagine, I'm following this incident very closely. There is a dash cam video on Youtube that shows the plane exploded in the air. The engines separated from the plane in air and landed at least 3 blocks from each other.
Per news, star reported lost in 1978.
National Transportation Safety Board investigator Maja Smith says witnesses described the aircraft coming out of a cloud and its tail and other parts breaking off as it rapidly descended.
Kinda describes the twerp murder mayor's asswipe Police administration...
WITSEC Witness protection program . . .?
Anyone check to see if Melrose or River Grove was missing a pilot?
And no, it isn't being overly sensitive to bristle at the MF news outlets who were Giddy with the story that this was a Retired CPD officer.
Would we see a story like "Heroic pilot who saved 4 people was retired CPD officer?"
The false credentials angle might be news, but they didnt know they were fake until AFTER . . .
Good old fashioned relocated mombster? Who knows. Just jealous he was hooked up with the bunny ranch.
Come on guy!
"Died doing what he loved" too bad he took over lives with him. And fake credentials? Sure stinks.
Arlo Guthrie Here
(Don't touch my bags if you please,
Mr. Customs Man)
Note Well: Pilot age, cost & operating cost of twin
engine, 10 seat plane don't make sense
1. Check Cessna tail number registration
2. Find out how many gallons of Avaition Fuel was
purchased before take off; Cash or Credit Card
3. Maybe plane was decoy (do runners ask for
attention by using large-capacity aircraft)
4. Cheaper options available for joy ride; maintenance of
pilot skills
5. Any past links to DEA/CIA? Rendition of undesirables,
non-commercial transportation for Special Agents, special
drops of drugs/weapons
6. Why was 75-yr old pilot flying an empty school bus?
D.B. Cooper?
“Tree farm” in Oregon? Weed grower and trafficker? Restaurant to launder the cash? Small planes are one of the best ways to transport it. That would explain the fake creds.
Holy crap ! Listen to this close by security footage . Jeez.

***
Checkout eBay for the bogus made in China CPD Stars...ridiculous and in direct violation of eBay rules yet eBay does nothing to stop this.
Perhaps CPD can somehow put an end this??
Retired, 30+
Quite possible this guy pissed off the Clintons and thus became a victim of Arkancide.
Jimmy Hoffa! Finally.
Sounds like a fishy Lil fuck
as stated above classic grave yard spiral in imc. over stresses the plane and the wings and tail and comes apart spiraling to the ground. video i saw didnt show an explosion, just the engines and fuel burning as they fell to the ground. happens all the time when not qualified for imc or problem with instuments. people watch too much bad tv. the big question here is why grandpa is flying a huge, for general aviation, plane worth millions, with a fuel cost in the hundreds per hour, empty near the border with phony popo creds. should be interesting if the story ever comes out. lots of good theories posted here. popcorn time.
Likely loss of control or pilot had heart attack, stroke or some other medical catastrophe. From video, sounded like like plain loss of control of plane. NTSB will issue report in about a year.
IAD dosn't do shit about these fake IDs. You can buy fake CPD IDs and realistic looking badges on E-Bay all day. Occasionally a real badge with the serial number on the back comes up for sale. I have notified them several times. The auction continues and the badge is sold.
Sounds like at least one engine was running

Report said star was reported lost in 1978. Wasn’t that before the CPD reverted over to the new and current stars?

What an ingenious statement. And correct too. I like it.
