Crime About to Drop
Yeah, we saw Special Ed and his puppets claiming once again, Crime is Down! It sure is, if you reclassify certain crimes, ignore others, don't count other categories and only go back two years instead of five. But this story is about to cut the carjacking numbers by 25% overnight:
- Federal charges have been filed against five people in connection with three carjacking cases in Chicago and the southwest suburbs dating back to 2017.
All five suspects were indicted on federal charges of carjacking by violence, force or intimidation with intent to cause death or serious bodily harm, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois announced Friday.
If each of these jagoffs gets 15-to-20 years....in the Federal system....with zero chance of parole for a dozen years, word is going to get around damn quick. And as we've pointed out numerous times before, if the Feds would implement Project Exile for gun charges we would see crimes drop by nearly a third in most categories:
- Richmond, Virginia saw homicides down 33%
- and armed robberies down 30%
All with less than three hundred people going to prison - in other words, only the worst of the worst went into the Federal system. Everyone else learned to avoid attracting the attention of the feds.

Retired POs are exempt from some of the provisions providing THEY OBTAINED THE FIREARM PRIOR TO RETIRING not after. But they will still have to register the firearm and pay a fee. Failure to to comply results in felony charging. In another bill promoted by State Rep. Daniel Didech-D Buffalo Grove is calling for the State Police to exam all firearm owner's social media websites and if they don't like what they see the FOID card can be revoked. Keep a close eye onto what's going on as the Democrats control the Governor's Office, and both the Senate and State Rep. and they could easily pass these bills. Similar bills in New York and New Jersey passed limiting magazine capacities for active police officers.

Unfortunately, the first carjackers charged by the Feds less than a year ago, cut some kind of deal with the Feds. Looks like Jason Dortch and Davonte Jones pled guilty to counts one and two of their original indictment. The Federal Probation office is going to make a recommendation. At least they’ve been locked up since Nov 2017, but what happened to the tough guy talk by the Feds. This is from the Trib in early March 2018:
Two teens accused of a violent carjacking in November are the first to face stiff federal charges as part of a collaborative effort between Chicago police and federal authorities to curb a surge of carjackings in recent months.
“Anyone who commits a crime like this should know, we are coming for you,” Jeffrey Sallet, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Chicago office, warned in a statement.
The indictment, made public Friday, charged Jason Dortch, 19, and Davontae Jones, 18, both of Chicago, with vehicular hijacking and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. Dortch is also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

If the federal prosecutors are doing all the heavy lifting, what exactly is the Cook County States Attorneys Office doing? If armed robbery of vehicles, a.k.a. Aggravated vehicular Hijackings offenders and elected democrats perpetrators committing a rampant string of public corruption offenses cannot be prosecuted by the local states attorney, why not remove the states attorney and her staffs for incompetency or failure to take actions to protect the public.
How effective is the states Attorneys Office if they cannot protect Cook County citizens and weed out the career habitual criminals namely the armed street thugs and the elected thugs?

I don't think that the black political leadership in this County would ever let Project Exile surface its head. The goal is to put less black men in prison for shorter terms, not more for longer terms. Don't forget, the reason for the high crime in black neighborhoods is " over policing".
Project Exile, the Federal prosecution of gun offenders has worked everywhere it has been tried. But we are a sanctuary city and state; draconian laws that are effective against crime are unwelcome here.

Not to make light of a bad situation, but no wonder homicides are down. Was watching the news this morning and Channel 9 reported on a 66 year old man's body being discovered in a garbage can at 66th and Yale. Police have classified the incident as a "death investigation".
What are the chances that this will ever be reclassified to Homicide/Murder?
Since the State's Attorney's Office won't charge hardly anyone even with a confession, you can bet that we can ASSume that the victim put himself in the garbage can before he died. No murder charge-no murder. Guess that's why there were only 20 murders in January.

I keep seeing posts, from both sworn and civilians, about the antics and misconduct of Police Lieutenant Davina Ward of the 003rd District.
Can somebody who'se familiar please elaborate on what she was alleged to do, and what did the Inspector general and IAD fail to do in regards to 003rd District Lieutenant Ward.
We know all about the official false reporting of arrest of the first UUW offender of the year. We know that the charges against that arrestee-Rhymes-was dismissed.
We also know about the allegations of cheating on the lieutenant's exam.
We know vaguely about something she did to some elderly person while assigned as a IAD sergeant.
If there's some other stuff pending, please advise. I'm sure the Captain's promotional board knows but is covering it up.
And no, this request isn't from the bottom feeding news media.

Agree wholeheartedly. Lt DW is one of the best bosses in CPD. I worked for him years ago and he led by example, had our backs and never tried to jam anyone up. He is what merit promotions should be about.

Downgrading crime has been going on forever. Robberies to thefts, burglaries to damage to property etc. When I was a patrolman the bosses forced you to do this. If they didn't call you out on it they would do it behind your back by crossing out your classification and inserting the downgrade. The District review office would also downgrade it. When I made detective we had a good area boss who said if the reports need to be upgraded do so and I will always back you up which he did. It was amazing how many case reports came in from the Districts that had the elements of Part 1 index crimes but were downgraded. It was with pleasure we upgraded them. When I made sergeant I encountered the police officers were kind of automatically programed to downgrade. They couldn't believe that I wanted them to upgrade the classification (when the elements were there). I had to show some of them the UCR guide to prove the correct way of reporting. This lying does a dis service to everyone. I don't think it will ever stop.

The Feds cite the "Commerce Clause". Since the vehicle was built in one state and then moved to another, that gives the jurisdiction. Same for the gun.
