Most Corrupt

  • The Chicago metropolitan area was ranked as the most corrupt U.S. city in a new report from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Along with Chicago, Los Angeles topped the list of the most public corruption convictions in America, based on the number of federal corruption convictions between 1976 and 2017. Chicago had 1,731 convictions during that time period, while the Central District of California had 1,534. The Manhattan area had 1,327 and Miami had 1,165, according to the report. Washington, D.C. had 1,159.

Drawing information from the Department of Justice, the report shows 25 public figures were convicted of charges tied to corruption in 2017 in the City of Chicago and the northern third of Illinois. 2017 was the most recent year for which the DOJ data was available, the report says.
Anyone ever mention "rebuilding trust between politicians and the public"? Rahm did nothing to discourage corruption and in fact, fostered quite a bit more. And none of hte 14 candidates for mayor have made any concrete plans to reduce corruption either.

Time to cut the city counsel by two thirds less Alderman!

I get a better response for city services by calling 311, then by calling my local Alder-creature!

There are at least three compelling needs to minimize political corruption in Chicago (and Cook County).

(1) Excluding Chicago and based on the 2010 decennial U.S. Census of the nation's ten most populous cities and the size of their respective city councils, a per capita analysis disclosed that Chicago should have no more than SEVENTEEN (17) wards/alder(wo)men. All wards must be of equal population. With Chicago's out migration of population, it's entirely possible that come the 2020 decennial U.S. Census count, Houston may well surpass Chicago as the third most populous U.S. city. This could result in an appropriate adjustment to only FIFTEEN (15) wards of equal population for Chicago.

(2) No elected officials in Chicago, Cook County and Illinois should serve more than two consecutive terms in office. TERM LIMITS.

(3). A RECALL REFERENDUM mechanism must be implemented so that the electorate can remove elected officials from office for just cause, incompetence, et cetera.

Also, note that local mainstream media (MSM) ignores investigational coverage of the three reforms cited above. Corruption is so deeply entrenched in THE MOST POLITICALLY CORRUPT CITY IN THE NATION that one could rationally conclude that City Hall controls the MSM.

Another f- for rahmbo. His hand picked cps chief is sitting in prison. His chief financial officer from ohio ended up a fugitive. Do we have to get into his choices for superintendent of the police department. The icing on the cake is the bevy of alderman who think that the city of chicago was their own little piggy bank. Either he was part of it or he was to dumb to see it.

Thats because "police" are the problem...perhaps alderman should be wearing a camera too, cut back on alderman seats, (we sure as hell dont need 50) and also cut back on their perks which is costing us big time...lets start with them when it comes to "saving" the city money! Amazing how everyone is so concerned about police but dont see the real problem is city hall. What a joke. Transparency starts at the top.

There is managing criminals.

There is mismanaging criminals.

Then, there is chitown/crook county politics.

The first kinda worked, sorta, during the richard j. era.

The second kicked in after, now running at full speed to the cliff.

The third, having been adequately managed, now full blown mismanaged and embraced, enboldened and exploited, is the crux of the city/county with no pity, only the pitiful and the self pitiful.

Thus, the pit awaits.

And the pit has infinite space for all.

The feds really are starting to open the crevice, which is becoming a crack and will soon become a canyon encompassing so many alderman, crook county members, the mayor the clerk, treasurer and the state house. Wires work and they have no clue who is wired up, the feds we all thought were asleep but they were hibernating and listening and now the bear is hungry hope they scoop up many more and overflow 219 S. dearborn with the elected criminals who have caused so much plan, havoc, mayhem and murder with their orders to keep out of prison the felons!

CPD supports the federal authorities the FBI and U.S. attorney in their efforts thank you and "round them up and take them out!"

Hey Toni Prickwinkle, why don't you ever talk about your "code of silence". I think we need to put forward a consent decree the politician's of Illinois must follow. AND, we don't let them have a say in the decree's process.

There is no such things as Democrats anymore, only Progressives, and Progressives don't build or create, they take over or destroy. Hell our Governor tried to buy a Senate seat on tape and now he gonna raise taxes on the rich knowing that the rich will hire lawyers and remove toilets not to pay taxes, just like him. They will destroy the families of those who stand against them. Chicago perfected it now the nation is doing it.

Lets get rid of their discretionary fund that is at their disposal. if they want to spend money in their ward, they should put out a proposal why they need the money. if it is warranted then they get the funds. but of course it would be it determined by the council, so business as usual. But i can dream.

Corruption? What corruption?
I’m shocked.
Open and notorious, remember, Rahm handing out $500,000 in donation checks to a set of Alderthieves last October right after he said he won’t run again.
How’s that for a Green New Deal.
Follow the money on which Alderthief voted for any recent expensive project.

California just dumped its high speed train project after 10 years of delays and overspending billions.
Elon MuskRat still has a chance to get his pissbum tunnel to Ohare before Rahm leaves.
Rahm’s favorite AldertThieves granted him $4 billion down payment for a $9 billion O’Hare terminal expansion last year, and that’s on top of the already so far $9 billion runway shuffle.

How do you think will they’ll vote when he wants to push thru MuskRat Tunnel Deal and how soon will it be?
If it’s anything like the Chicago Cook County MWRD Deep Tunnel/ TARP Project, I need not say more.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the FBI raided City Hall/Cook County right after the Primary.

Oh, and at least Lower Wacker is safer now that a bottle of hot sauce was recovered.
