I'm glad one of the officers had the gumption to complain about it. We would never know otherwise, it would just be rumor and innuendo. When I was rookie, I had to run some errands for a watch commander. He was a nice guy, but the errands were personal. I know better now, and would politely refuse any such request. Through the years, I have seen career suck ups getting lunch for the Cmmdr. and pick up dry cleaning. They have a car for their personal use. Let them pick up their own dry cleaning. I also wish the officers would have captured video on this. Maybe they did. Oh, well...since he admitted to it, I guess we don't need it. every district that I have worked in, the district commander had one of the police women as a girlfriend. In one district, 010, the commander would bang his girlfriend in his office on his couch at 2 AM. I was upstairs one night typing an incident report when the two of them came out of the office, fixing their hair and clothes only to see me sitting there. You should have seen the startled look on their faces. Both were married to others. Nothing new here. But, what should be new is a firm department rule and ethics violations for such conduct and if you use the standard of private industry, dismissal. Unfortunately these goofs will never wake up until it costs them money or they get hurt. The secondary effect is causing veteran officers to avoid them because of their stupidity. The road conditions were hazardous for everyone. This will be a factor when reviewing their decision to chase.

Or does Escamerit's COD Uber Service only apply to disabled Volunteers?

Today,11 Feb 2019 about 1300 hours I pulled up to the front of area 2 to find a spot to park my squad, and observed a vehicle parked in the 2 spots reserved for Illinois State Police vehicles. This vehicle was not only parked there, but took up 2 spots. I thought how ignorant and selfish of the driver of this vehicle must be, to only think of themselves. There are 2 very large and clearly printed signs that state, Reserved for Illinois State Police Vehicles only.
So next time beat 733, driving outside unit 9434. Find a legit spot in the front lot or park in the back lot. If you cant read and need glasses, we do have vision insurance. I took several pictures of how you parked in 2 spots, and even got a shot of you coming out of court and into you car. You really need to learn how to read and park in between the lines.

Not that it matters but I have been on the job 5 plus years and I was on medical because of a medical condition that required surgery and i was told I was going to be off of work for 12 weeks. 3 weeks after surgery I drove to Milwaukee to see my mom and long story short, I was given a cr for leaving Illinois without approval. the SHITY (city) gave me 10 days but I was finally given 5. Never had any type of discipline and a decent complimentary history and this is what I get for an honest mistake. Fuck you to all the bosses who get away with murder and who screw the Po's. No more activity from this salty 5year guy. Dammit I have a long way to go...

Not that it matters but I have been on the job 5 plus years and I was on medical because of a medical condition that required surgery and i was told I was going to be off of work for 12 weeks. 3 weeks after surgery I drove to Milwaukee to see my mom and long story short, I was given a cr for leaving Illinois without approval. the SHITY (city) gave me 10 days but I was finally given 5. Never had any type of discipline and a decent complimentary history and this is what I get for an honest mistake. Fuck you to all the bosses who get away with murder and who screw the Po's. No more activity from this salty 5year guy. Dammit I have a long way to go...

Shame on beat 733 today on the 2nd watch.
Today,11 Feb 2019 about 1300 hours I pulled up to the front of area 2 to find a spot to park my squad, and observed a vehicle parked in the 2 spots reserved for Illinois State Police vehicles. This vehicle was not only parked there, but took up 2 spots. I thought how ignorant and selfish of the driver of this vehicle must be, to only think of themselves. There are 2 very large and clearly printed signs that state, Reserved for Illinois State Police Vehicles only.
So next time beat 733, driving outside unit 9434. Find a legit spot in the front lot or park in the back lot. If you cant read and need glasses, we do have vision insurance. I took several pictures of how you parked in 2 spots, and even got a shot of you coming out of court and into you car. You really need to learn how to read and park in between the lines.

Oversight for a commander that conducts a secret child care study and takes mental notes? How does the DC, chief of patrol and supt accept the story of a secret study with mental notes? At least he should he required to publish his "mental" notes so the department can benefit from the "secret" study? Who are you kidding? Oversight? Unbelievable, the double standard for exempts.

U cannot be used to participate in secret studies. Check the rules and regulations and general orders and basic employment principles. So, used in a secret study subject to be followed and then the duress of an internal investigation due to your unauthorized participation in a secret study that you never autorized yourself to be in. I am sure you were never presented consent forms to be willing participants in a secret study. Sounds like a real violation of some kind of working conditions i would consult an attorney. Better yet the FOP should be looking into this to be sure its members are not subjected to secret studies.

The commander could develop a class on mental note taking in the academy? Teach the subject at roll calls and staff meetings. Why write anything down? Written notes are not a skill for his officers.Mental note taking for supervisors. or another class, secret studies for community policing.

Now, as an exempt Commander, he should know that. With that rank, he’s supposed to know that @ny type of “study” goes through the chain of command and would most likely be conducted by R & D. To think he thinks we are that stupid to believe this line of bullshit is embarrassing to the department. He should at least received 30 days AND a demotion to 1st watch, preferably in the 3rd or 7th district.

I hear Kenny has a brand new Mercedes Benz, and Kevin running around grinning like he's going to be Supt. Tell you what. Whoever is finally elected mayor will be getting a BIG envelope and disk with all kinds of shit about crime, misconduct and corruption perpetrated by Eddie's command staff.
