Dunphy on LAPD
Friday we wrote about the mayor of Los Angeles ordering officers not to enforce the law in an effort to "balance out" the supposedly disproportionate number of black and brown people stopped.
This weekend, we were contacted by our friend Jack Dunphy, who had also posted a lengthy article regarding his former department, making all the points we had and more. He cites numerous sources and studies that pretty much prove to intelligent people, that the LAPD is being hamstrung by slanted reporting and the ones suffering most are, in fact, the decent black and brown citizens of Los Angeles.

I'll say this again and again,don't stop anyone,don't foot chase,don't car chase. This is a new police department. The old ways of doing law enforcement are gone. Be safe and God Bless

That team policing is a total disaster. We would be better off painting tact cars blue and white to show presence and answer calls. This dept. is reactive not proactive. No need for tact. I saw tact writing parking tickets the other day. That Squad program is dangerous and I think it is used as a tool to attack morale and hide crime in r.a.p.s. that dont get answered. Counting the days until 20....scc please address this topic
change of subject: had breakfast with a retired judge who told me why Criminal Court Judge Hooks got a suspended for 30 days and had to take a anger management course. It seems that Judges have a perk at 26th Street, it called the Judge's Private elevator. It so happened that Judge Hooks was in the elevator and a white female judge came on board. This female judge heard someone yell hold that elevator and the female judge did just that. This person who yelled hold that elevator was a female Asst States Attorney. Judge Hooks let loose a barrage of obscenities including calling her a FUCKING WHORE among other things. This female judge went strait to the presiding Judge at 26th Street and that judge told her she had to go to Chief Judge Evans. Evans told her that it was a he said/she said and told her to forget about it. The judge then told Evans it was not a he said/she said that there was a witness(the person she held the elevator door opened for) and that if he was not going to do anything about it she and the asst states attorney were going to fill a complaint against both Hooks and him (Evans) Evans panicked and told him to go to anger management class. From what I understand this is not over, the female judge and the Asst States Attorney filed a complaint against Hooks with the Illinois Judicial Committee.
People are getting the government they voted for. Relax and enjoy your popcorn.
i recently checked my activity for the last 12 months. it showed one(1) blue traffic card. i honestly don't know where that came from. i definitely didn't do it...
I have a question, why do none of the data bases show that the percentage of arrests are repeat offenders? Could it be that the 21-28% arrest rate for a group that allegedly accounts for 9% of the population are nearly always the same people? With the way that prosecutors and courts are refusing to do their job, that 20-26% are the same criminals over and over again.
Can we get someone (reporters that are on this site looking for items to burn the PD)to look into and report on this?
