This whole thing (drop announcement) was rigged from top
to bottom. Everyone knew the outcome in advance, there
was a lot of acting.
Write out your own timeline. When the news came down
both Eddie & Rahm were in public together at the Navy Pier.
We were told when they got word of the decision, they rushed
off the stage, both expressing their incredulity. In other words,
instead of being in individual offices inside buildings, they were
out in public, only too convenient for the news media to capture.
The announcement was calculated down to the minute so these
officials were together (physically apart from the legal people).
It's like Capone being in Florida on St. Valentine's Day. Rahm
and Eddie could not possibly be part of a scheme because they
out in public when the news was released. They both got
steamed when word reached them and the media was only too
happy to capture their reactions.
Noise is all that is.
Everyone associated with the case, high up anyway, has it just where they want it.

Who was the nervous nelly from the States atty’s office on tv who was almost hyperventilating as he spoke? He said that the charges were dropped because they have no resources to investigate and charge nonviolent crimes. Why did they charge him to begin with? Is he also saying that they don’t charge any nonviolent crimes? It makes sense now since they let all felony retail thieves and other felonies slide through the fingers. That office needs to be drained form corruption. Not only did Smollett walk free but he and his attorneys say that Chicago owns him an apology. This is sick at best.

You have full confidence in Foxx and all her texts and callls and emails regarding this shady deal but Magats, the white male, has to explain HIS decision to drop charges! Joe Magats is a stand up guy, a great prosecutor, and huge friend of the police who has been with the office for 30 years. Rock solid reputation at 26th Street among prosecutors and Detectives. I saw him on the news and he looked ashen and shell shocked. No way in hell he wanted to drop charges.

Don’t know Magats but why should he resign? Did you or any officer you work with ever resign because you disagreed with your boss? If your Cmdr, Sgt, Lt, or whoever orders you to stand there at a Black Lives Matter march and get verbally abused would you retire? Would your conscience drive you to retirement if you were ordered to walk along with Occupy Wall Street demonstrators as they marched through downtown? Did you retire when your employer stripped and has also tried to fire a Sgt and several Officers from 008 who were merely on scene at Van Dyke shooting?
