McHenry County Sheriff Killed

  • A McHenry County sheriff’s officer has died after being shot while serving an arrest warrant early Thursday, and the suspected gunman is custody after an hours-long standoff with police off Interstate 55 south of Bloomington, according to authorities.

Deputy Jacob Keltner died around 3:30 p.m., hours after he was shot at a Rockford motel, according to the McHenry County sheriff’s office. He had been a deputy with the office for 13 years.

The suspected gunman, Floyd E. Brown, fled downstate but crashed his silver Mercury Grand Marquis near Lincoln around 11:30 a.m. after leading Illinois State Police on a chase that reached speeds over 100 mph, authorities said. He had refused to leave the car, and reports from troopers at the scene said he pointed a rifle out of the car.
The fact that this piece of shit was eventually taken alive should be noted by all of the usual grievance mongers (we're looking at you Jesse, Al, phony pfather, Bobby, etc). We would also hope that since Deputy Keltner was working with the US Marshall Office, the Federal death penalty statutes would apply.

RIP Deputy. Prayers for your family, co-workers and friends.

Let's do the math. Out in 8 years after last murder, but this time he killed a cop so he will probably be out in 12 more years. As to where he got rifle, same place all the others get their guns, on the street. You do know they do not require Foid cards or background checks in ghetto deals. Pass all the gun laws you want and the criminals will always have guns
Over 300 million guns in US now, once that pool runs out the Gangs will simply import them. Until you Crack down on criminal gun use nothing will change. But cracking down would mean even more people of color in jail for longer periods and we cannot have that can we. Once again SJW prevails.

So terrible. RIP and big prayers to all.

Once aga8n the commuity wins: get out of jail free, commit more crimes and kill a PO on the way with an illegal gun, then have a future ordering pizza and silk underwear from jail.

Wow gun and easy sentencing laws really work to lower violent crime.

Am totally sickened.

Stay safe and big prayers.

Is the white community burning Rockford to the ground? Where are the religious leaders on TV demanding justice for dead police officer, Has the media released Browns home address like they do when a police officer kills a black man? Brown had many opportunities to straighten his life out, Multiple prison terms and always paroled, I hope the Judges that gave him softball sentences and the parole boards that let him go are proud of themselves! He should have been put down like the animal he is!

This shows how incredibly f'ed up this job has become. Hours-long stand-off? Are you fucking kidding me? That should have been over and done with in 3 frickin minutes! "Pointed a rifle at the officers"..... BANG! No more stand-off..... What the hell, are we ALL this afraid to act now? This shit show is just getting worse guys, and we're the ones who keep dying in it.

When a person is shot by police, which over 90% of the time is a justified act of self defense, it is an epidemic. When one officer a week for the last 14 plus months is being murdered by being shot to death, we hear nothing. The Hero Rockford Officer who sacrificed his life for society was not even the lead off story on some news channels today's.

God bless this officer and his family, and all the officers who knew and worked with him.

"According to Sangamon County court records, Brown's history with law enforcement in the area dates back to 1996. He previously was found guilty in that county of domestic battery, resisting peace officers, criminal trespass to a residence, aggravated battery of a peace officer or fireman, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, reckless driving, endangering the life of a child and more."
- - - -

So once again, what we have is an abject failure of the justice system to adequately protect society from a criminal, despite all the feel-good warm and fuzzy laws against doing precisely what he did----using a gun to kill someone.

How many times must this scenario repeat? Yet the Dumbocrats still believe that law-abiding gunowners are the problem and more antigun laws are the answer. The only conclusion is that they DO NOT want to reduce gun crime because they are political opportunists. It provides them an election issue, pure and simple.

R.I.P.

Once the State and counties decided to go compassionate and indulge in some restoration justice (and 21st Century), they gave these violent, crime-cultured feral mutts opportunity to turn themselves in, which they ignore over and over again.
Warrants have there place and no arm chairing here.
Departments across the nation see no need for “get them now” proactive policing.
And even at that, they leniency these feral mutts are granted, they still become agitated and resort to violent reactions.
There’s no one shoe fits all.

The Thin Blue Line Act.
H.R. 115 still sits in Judiciary Committee....why ?
Too busy to get another read, Democrats blocking the 3/5ths or just backlogged trying to find collusion or hotel construction?

----------------------------------------

I spoke with the McHenry County Sheriff's office today and the young lady said they are taking contact information and someone will get back to me. It's too new if that makes sense.
She was holding back tears as we spoke. The outpouring of support has been both overwhelming, and not just by his fellow brothers in arms (if that is the correct phrase to use) but by the "average citizen on the street" (my words).
As she was telling me, all I could think about was the ever so slight difference between Crystal Lake and our own Shity by the Lake. They don't have fake storefront Rev'runs, "Men of the Cloth" who preach hate, 'munerty organizers looking for a free ride to the Ghetto Lottery Pick-Up Point and a host of other similar characters. Not to mention elected officials who actually support, by both words and action, those who put their lives on the line every minute of every day.
What they DO have is people who come together to support those who are there when no one else is, IE Law Enforcement.
I pray the time will come when raising money for the fallen will not be necessary.

Illinois is a Freaking State. A State has all the powers of a Country, excepting for a few reserved for the Fed's. National defense, printing money, etc. A state can execute people for murder, kidnapping, etc.

Calling for the Feds to enforce a State law, is pathetic. Shouldn't citizens of the other forty-nine States be responsible for funding and electing responsible governments in their own State? Shouldn't they not be saddled with babysitting other States that have different priorities? Don't citizens of other States have a full plate all ready?
