- Today 015 got introduced to the new Captain. Of course he’s a several time merit promotion recipient, but apparently he’s already counting down his days until his next promotion. He introduced himself during roll call and listed all the places he’s worked and for how long and even said that he’ll be in 015 until his next promotion (and smirked after he said it). Must be nice knowing you're already going to be made a boss somewhere….
So without even a full day under his belt, he's already earned a commander spot.

Yup. With almost twenty years I’ve personally witnessed this a few times. A guy that was just promoted knows when he will be promoted again. I was shocked the first time I heard this when the audience was just a few people. Never witnessed a douchebag address an entire roll call with the information. These are the same assholes that paint the Chicago flag on their garage doors and post pictures of their fake promoted asses in full uniform all over Facebook. You should never go full retard. I’m very lucky I landed my menial cushy spot. I mind my own business, keep my mouth shut, and count the fucking minutes until my family and I can move out of state. Fuck this corrupt shithole. Fuck Chicago.

Man, I guess nobody appreciates a little injected humor... way too serious on this job now a days with people who cry about things like this... a clear joke told during an introduction. Now people can’t introduce themselves and give them a run down of where they’ve worked? It might be good if a guy comes in and is now a supervisor to you.. a person you may need to seek advice from or ask questions. Let’s say the boss says he worked in gangs, did wires, worked in Marcos a, tax and gangs, worked in patrol as an FTo it worked as a robbery detective for 6 years and a violent crime detective for 8 years etc. wouldn’t it be nice to know that if you have a question about detective stuff at a shooting scene that the advice given may be good due to that persons backgeound?? Nah, too many bitter know it all’s on this job who love to be miserable.
In an unrelated issue, to show the level of corruption on a National level, the FEDS spent the last 4 years prosecuting Illinois Rep Aaron Schock, forcing him to vacate his seat in Congress. Now they’ve suddenly dropped the charges if he repays the IRS the taxes due.
Why..you ask?
Could it be that several of the darling “Left’s” rising stars, including AOC and the Muslim, have been discovered doing the same? So now it has to just go away!

Remember when captain was a dead end rank. It seemed like years ago only lieutenants got those gold stars. Now these gold stars make the brief stop at captain Incase the next regime demotes them.
Not surprising, these fools are told by their clout to keep their mouths shut and keep their noses clean, but they just can't help themselves. Problem is that their is always some person that will do everything for them to help them get by. You can always tell who they are because the are always saying, "good guy, he is a good guy". What a f--kin joke.
Nobody really "earned" anything in the academy. They allowed everyone to cheat on the tests by having the instructors leave the room while we were taking them. They probably still do, you can't get these block heads to pass an 8'th grade level test.
You must realize that this department like every city department is just part of an employment agency for the clouted. Most of us are just here to assist them and fill in the gaps, while they get the good spots and gold braided pensions. If you look closely at 95% of the exempts, you will find that special person in their lives that gave them the golden ticket. The Aunt in the mayors office, the Uncle that is a state rep, you get the idea. They really believe that this has earned them their spot. I remember back in the day, when a new boss came into the unit or district, the first question asked was, "Who is their clout"?
Back in the days of Fort Forgotten, 15 was known for great bosses, who took care of their troops.
There was a spirit of camaraderie because most had been dumped to 15, and saw the big picture.

Meh, does something like this actually surprise people anymore? If you're working in 015, just hope he does like other good little Captains and disappears into the woodwork. Disinterest and elusiveness are two of the best traits the brass can possess on this job. Any intervention by them can only F things up for those of us who actually have to go out and work the street.
If he starts harassing POs or better yet, if he actually makes work in 015 better for POs, then you have a real story.

Then he made merit Lieutenant last year and was assigned to 025 for about 6 months before he landed himself a spot as the CO of Midway airport. Now he’s a Captain just until the can find a spot in CAPs for Cato. Then Glen will become the Commander of 015.
Clearly a joke. Glen White is a stand up guy who I would work for anytime. Whoever wrote that is a very jealous person.
Even though GW had only been a lieutenant for a short time, and passed up more experienced and deserving lieutenants, he is still a very nice guy, and not a hater. 015 was lucky to get him. Would be even luckier to get him as commander.

She is strongly in favor of dumping eddie and the exempt cruisers out,all the years and zero results and hopefully they get dumped back to their civil service rank for pension purposes. Wait a minute the pension board was looking into dumping the gold braid bill like fire did why is this not complete yet?? This is one reason that i’ve lost all respect for the department and sadly, it’s supervisors. I no longer greet them with sir., but rather just say hello. The whole promotional process is an in your face fraud.

They don’t have them anymore. I think they made too many people laugh when seeing them on the wall. I think around the Jody Weiss era they came down. I’m sure Granny Clampet didn’t help either. That picture was the opposite of what the CPD is. There’s a lot more given than earned here.

Gotta love it when a merit bosshole walks into the room spouting his/her resume, even if they were joking, when in reality they wouldn’t be qualified to be a bagger at the local supermarket. One thing I’ve learned over the past 23 yrs in patrol, mission teams, tact/ gang teams, sat/gun teams is that these bosses only give a shit about thier next promotion or spot. I learned a long time ago to work for me, show up and do the best job I can, back my fellow officers up, and we all go home safe at the end of the day. The cards were stacked against me and many other good officers who did good work, but never recognized. All the good spots went to the clouted. The merit promotions are a joke, as well as the award system.
Also been wanting to say this for a while now, to those who talk about the “real police”; The “real police” are those officers locked to the radio day in and day out, walking into unknown shit storms that occur. And when that unknown shit storm rears it’s ugly head, you better make that split decision correctly, especially in this anti-police climate. Funny, the officers facing discipline are mainly street officers working beat cars, and the officers facing corruption charges are usually from units, go figure.
This continually reflects Chief Fred Wallee and Fat Eddie's poor decisions. Look at Bradley in 006, Howard in 005, Hanna who looks every bit of trash daily in 003 and Piggott in 001, Oshea and do nothing incompetent Mike Murphy. Worthless
I worked on Tact with Glen back in 025. He is a nice guy who should be a breath of fresh air in 015. I have no doubt he was being humorous. So take it easy, Francis!

Glen White was on the sergeants contract team when they agreed to raise the age 55 retirement deal to 2%.
THIS is his reward.

Wouldn’t the statue of limitations be over by now? Everyone bitched about it when they finally found out, but how long has it been since it actually happened? It’s easy to bitch, but not as easy to get someone to do something about it. No one wanted to do anything because that might hurt their possibility of acquiring clout some day! Funny but true......
Worked with Glen in 015 when he was the CAPS sgt. He was fine as a Sgt and always treated everyone with respect. We'll have to see how his return as a Captain is, but I am more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. we certainly could have done worse. Dave Harris comes to mind...
Keep promoting idiots with no experience. Morale isn't low enough. When will this department learn?
