Prickwrinkle Troubles?
- The Chicago Teachers Union on Monday dismissed as “trash” a poll by Stand for Children Illinois showing Lori Lightfoot headed toward a landslide victory over the CTU’s endorsed mayoral candidate, Toni Preckwinkle.
Okay, so a poll is only as good as the people paying for it - its methodology is questionable, but it's a good swipe at Prickwrinkle.
Then the Federation of Labor decides to sit out the election and make no endorsement:

- The Chicago Federation of Labor decided Monday to remain neutral in the historic April 2 mayoral runoff in a move likely to be seen as a boon to Lori Lightfoot and a major blow to Toni Preckwinkle.
“Something different may have happened if we had this meeting two weeks from now. But we’re not. Today was the day . . . Our representative body that makes this decision isn’t scheduled to meet again during this election cycle,” said federation president Bob Reiter. The federation has an ownership stake in Sun-Times Media.
And then the Sun Times (who has endorsed Lightfoot) cancels one of the larger mayoral debates when Prickwrinkle won't commit to showing up:
- The Chicago Sun-Times canceled a mayoral debate scheduled for later this week because candidate Toni Preckwinkle was “noncommittal” about her participation.
The debate scheduled for Friday at the Sun-Times’ West Loop newsroom was set to be moderated by reporters, who operate independently from the Sun-Times Editorial Board that had already endorsed mayoral candidate Lori Lightfoot.
The Sun Times has made its choice already and is sticking to it in the runoff.

Speaking of runoffs, if you are in the 39th ward DO NOT vote for Robert Murphy. He is an Arena guy and also employed that Carl Nyburg jackass who was trash talking our 2 officers that were fatally struck by a train.

Lightfoot is the only choice. It’s an easy decision. Preckwinkle will destroy Chicago. Someone has to stop Chicago’s taxbase from moving out. Preckwinkle will cause more people to leave and that’s the worst thing that could happen. A city can’t survive if this happens. Preckwinkle is the same old career Chicago politician and people are sick of that. At least Lightfoot isn’t. She also made favorable comments about fixing the pension fund.
The teachers union is an absolute embarrassment. Stupid people running it. They want Preckwinkle because they are assuming she will give them big fat contracts. But did it ever cross their minds that if Preckwinkle’s terrible polices continue to drive more people out of Chicago and CPS enrollment continues to drop, that teachers may start getting laid off and get no pay check? Preckwinkle is the worst thing for Chicago as a whole.

As a former teacher, I was appalled that the CTU leadership endorsed Prickwinkle. The role of the union is to protect their members and not look for pay to play candidates. Many of the teachers I know were equally disgusted and have told me under no circumstances they would vote for her.
It's Taxwrinkle! Get it right!! Toni Taxwinkle will be implementing all sorts of taxes and closing down CPD lockups if elected. Same thing she did with Cook County as county-dictator. Look at someones past to know who they are.

CPS has 150,000 less students but yet the same amount of teachers gee how does that work? Rahm is building many new schools while closing 54 schools because of not enough kids,who is getting the backdoor envelopes?

Yesterday I had a word with a CPS teacher. She reffered to her PHD as toilet paper, if she were incompetent enough to vote for Preckwinkle. This was out of a highly respected high school teachers mouth. Honestly, ater watching the whole debate earlier I can not agree more. My thoughts on lightfoot have actually lightened up a bit. I respect her as a businessperson and lawyer. I wish her luck. I think the OPS stigma made me judgemental of her. I hope Lightfoot wins.
I don't care for either one, both are NOT my choice for mayor. The voters of Chicago aren't too bright, sorry to say, I pass on voting for either one of these two CLOWNS !!!!!!!!
