Now that was funny. That guy hadn’t been capable of holding down a job after retiring, why would you think he’d last for more than the customary 6 month mark with Burke?

Vote for Lori Lightfoot. Sitting it out is equivalent to voting for Preckwinkle and she is a treacherous, mean hater. And, now to learn she is being backed by the CTU and she is apparently a Bernie supporter. Double-danger Will Robinson!
My hope is Lightfoot makes it and, much like it was with Harold, at the end of her first term many are pleasantly surprised in a positive way. There is no chance for a positive outcome should Preckwinkle be elected. The bad attitude and the hate within Preckwinkle runs much too deep.
......Will this work or am I just far too optimistic?

Here is a senerio, not sure how well it will work, but here it is:
prickwinkle has been dealing with the fbi, a lot, with a possible gran jury situation. If she gets in, then gets indicted by a grand jury, she would need to resign.
Her resignation triggers a run off between lightfoot and daley (as 3rd place), which puts daley in office.
Will this work or am I just far too optimistic?

That would be bad. First, he’s a Daley. Second, Daley wants to change the Illinois constitution to diminish/restructure our pension. Lightfoot went on record saying she would not and we earned and deserve our pension.

Yah, I’ve never not voted, and this may be a first for me. It’s a sinking bag of shit either way. Both candidates hate us, hate law and order, neither will be friendly come contract time, not union friendly, taxes going up even more, continuous pandering to dude inc, spread section 8 even more over the city. does it really matter? The working people of the city either get the 16 inch red dildo in the ass, or vote the other way for a 16 inch purple dildo. They’re both the same shit bag activist candidate wrapped in a different shit covered paper. Vote, don’t vote, doesn’t really matter in this instance boys and girls. Smell that?! There’s a shit storm comin!
And the best part is, Preckwinkle intends to keep her job as County board president, so she'll have TWO government jobs simultaneously. Why should she collect the full salary (and potentially two pensions) for having what will amount to two part-time jobs?

I was thinking about heading to the south suburbs this year from the NW Side, but with the crew elected downstate and now the Mayor's race--I'm going to keep going south until I hit the Gulf of Mexico.

I purposely avoiding throwing shade at the four commenters in hopes of appealing to their smarter selves, but in hindsight, they ARE stupid if they really do not vote at all or, if they vote, do not vote for Lightfoot.
Look , research background of each female candidate, pick the best one.
Will either one enforce residency for CTU , teachers . So many live outside of the city .
It will raise price of housing for retirees selling , also maybe the city could offer a $500 reward for every teacher that was forced back , look at real estate tax dollars for Chicago.

It has been going on for years , maybe this should be a campaign issue .
