Does This Count?
- Rather than face a fast-approaching tax evasion trial in federal court, former Chicago Ald. Edward R. Vrdolyak is apparently set to plead guilty at a hearing later this week that would end with his second criminal conviction.
But the details surrounding his plea — and whether it will reveal an explanation for how Vrdolyak got a cut of Illinois’ massive tobacco settlement — are still unknown.
The so-called “change of plea” hearing has been set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday before U.S. District Judge Robert Dow. An entry on the court docket said the hearing was set “at the request and by agreement of the parties.”
For being considered a pretty smart guy at one time, Fast Eddie sure seems to be a slow learner where federal law is concerned.

What the hell is going on with current/former aldermen recently? Maybe we need aldermen reform so they can gain trust in the community.
A multi millionaire old geezer still pulling scams. He could be lounging in Florida with a cute little 25 year old nymph, but instead will hit the shitter for a few years.
For those too young to remember Fast Eddie, he was one of the best Aldermen Chicago had.
When I say "best", I mean the guy was quick on his feet and could out-talk ANY News reporter who thought they had the goods on him. He was the same caliber of Ed Burke - only slicker and politically more vicious when he needed to be.
Some Aldermen were afraid to be interviewed by some intimidating reporters like Walter Jacobson "back in the day".
Not Fast Eddie, he would verbally "mop the floor" with Jacobson in an interview. He was not shy to go on the attack and most would think twice before taking a stand against him. His defense was initiating a good offense.
Fast Eddie had an "executive skill" many do not have. He was "quick on his feet" in debating anyone. He could field questions on his feet and did not need a written speech or a teleprompter to respond. THAT is an executive skill FEW have - including most "Leadership" in the city as well as private sector corporate CEOs.
He vanished from the hot political spotlight of Chicago but should be considered an icon of what a "Chicago Alderman" personifies in Chicago. Slick, articulate, and sometimes caught up in the mayhem with his hands in the cookie jar.
Looks like his life turned into a box of chocolates
with a clear plastic lid
The Aldercreature culture creates a false
sense of importance, entitlement, and
invincibility otherwise known as E2I.
Worse yet, none of these feelings are real.
It's almost never worth going to trial in Federal Court. Wait em out as long as you can, and take the best deal you can get.
Ed, I can still get you a bulk deal on T-shirts:

What do you make of this?
I know the judge he will get probation ERV is 81 years old !
Wow...I thought 'fast eddie' was dead. Who knew.
skippy was not a tough interviewer. his best shtick was when his cameras caught a city worker loafing. his perspective segments made him a tuff guy. bat boy could never find real corruption and was as useless as the BGA. LMAO when he got his DUI.
Why does it take so long to catch some alderman doing dirt? Everyone learns before they hit grade school that Chicago is run by a bunch of crooks. Vrdolyak was as slick as they come if the vets can get him twice they could get any alderman they want, where is the want?
12:18 Haven't you heard? Chicago ain't ready for reform. -Paddy Bauler.
Walter "Skippy" Jacobsen, Another famous Shitcago drunk, He was heard saying at his latest DUI arrest, "Do you know who I am, Do you know who I am?" Fuck you Walter!!
The fix is in probation bet on it !
Cosby, Kadafi, Vrdolyak, Burke. Why didn't these guys quietly retire to the south of France?
He was very godlike on the southeast side.
Another Smooth criminal who became a lawyer and thief. Both him and Burke hopefully do time, I have no sympathy for money making cocksuckers who keep stealing and treat as t people like crap. Madigan next hopefully
You can talk fast on your feet when you have clout. At one time Ed had Federal, State and City clout. Not no more all of his clout is either dead or retired.
Sure it counts.
Whenever a former copper gets in a jam the asshole media repeatedly say “former Chicago Police Officer”
Lets hope Burke gives up the people the elected that wore that wire,Burke knows where the skeletons are and hoping he names names and the domino's quickly fall! Hoping rahm is the tip of the iceberg would be a great day for Chicago to see him get that ^am call and his home raided and then locked up!
Anyone wanna bet more coming with this..??? Lets see who goes down next...
I worked for many years during the era of the 10th Ward Machine, and I can say that EV was a lot like Gotti in that he took care of MANY people around here. Is he any more or less cupable than Daley, Burke, or any other Machine politician who ever lived? I don't think so. The people in power changed skin color, political persuasion, etc. They all gamed the system, but this system will ALWAYS be gamed. On the whole, he wasn't that bad.
How about an Alerrmanic consent degree. Feds are you reading this, lots and lots of low hanging fruit to take you to top.

EV took care of many coppers/city workers/firemen who needed a lawyer when in a bind, and did it on the cheap (not aka briskman and briskman). He still takes care of many (and has done a lot of free work). OK in my book. Sorry Ed, stay fetal!
