Escamerit will stay in 025 for the next 13 years until he reaches the mandatory retirement age. That's the plan anyway. Say what you will about City Hall but when they pick a horse in a race they stick with it. It doesn't matter if it collapses in the middle of the race track before crossing the finish line, with all four of its legs broken. They will still back it even as it's struggling to breath, while vultures are anxiously circling around to feast on the soon to be carcass. Much more humane to just send him to the glue factory in my opinion but what do I know? They are the geniuses that promoted him 5 times lol

My question is....why is there a Chief of OCD, a Deputy Chief and a Commander? Seems like a huge waste and overlap. How about just a Chief and a commander? Why a Deputy Chief too? They’re all doing the same thing. How about eliminate the Chief too? If the Supt or First Deputy wants something done can’t they just tell the commander directly? This department needs to cut the waste.
Sure would be nice to see Lightfoot cut the waste and start getting rid of all these Chiefs Deputy Chiefs commanders etc. way too many exempts. The city needs to stop wasting money.

While it’s fun to get an inside baseball glimpse of the comings and goings of various and sundry bossholes, it means less than nothing in the grand scheme of things. I wouldn’t know my commander if he was standing next to me. And I don’t care to.
On name “KIMBLE” they or should I say Eddie has to take care of him. Have you ever heard him talk, full of shit. Now they have to figure out what to due with him. If they moved him to a district, he would destroy it and the morale. So what due you due with him now, promote him again to deputy Chief and yes this is the same guy that had a boot on his dept vehicle, god help us.
Sanchez is a good guy, why demote him when other incompetent Gold stars keep their rank when they can’t do the job. Eddie Johnson taking care of his people. Kimble is a goof and Sanchez knew it, but that’s Special Ed’s guy, so you can’t be critical of the goof or else you get demoted.
I am not positive, but I believe that an exempt rank officer before retiring reverts back to their civil service rank. It has something to do with comp hours and the pension.
Doesnt everyone drop in rank when they retire?

Sanchez is retiring. All the Fire department brass do the same about a month or two before retiring. Now with how the pension is set up CPD bosses all do the same, they all revert back to captain or Lt for about a month before leaving.

Why do we need a Deputy Chief to tell a Commander what the Chief said? You could have a civilian do that.

Doesn’t affect your pension, maybe a little because your pension is based on the highest 4 years of the last 10 years or I believe they use the highest 48 months out of the last 120 months

You my uninformed friend obviously have no idea how the pension works so maybe you should educate yourself before you make a total a$$ of yourself. Here, I’ll do it for you. Your pension is based on the BEST 48 months of your last 120 months. If he was a Chief for 1 year and a Commander for 3 then (like grade school) add all 4 years salary and divide by 4. That will give him his “base” salary. Now multiply by the percentage that he is entitled to (75% if 29 and a day) or subtract 2.5% from 75 for each year he is short of max pension. NOW you have his bottom line for pension purposes. Just because he was a Chief for 1 year doesn’t mean he gets a “Chiefs Pension”
Now that we have that sorted out, I agree he is an over promoted goof who would be handing out radios in 010 if he didn’t have the Hispanic clout behind him

i remember my old partner waited until the new contract raise came into being to retire because he thought his pension would be 4% higher. He worked for about a period or so with that raise. I must've told him 100 times that's not how it works. He still didn't understand.
