Fooled You!

Way to instill trust from the troops Special Ed:
  • They forget to mention how they lied to all the 3rd watch Po's in 008.... Sign up for overtime to work your regular start time on your regular car they said....nope as of yesterday 1700 start in the violence boxes.... Good job lying to everyone to get them to sign up then screwing then, Special Ed really knows how to boost morale!
You would have gotten plenty of volunteers just telling the truth. They might have been younger, more impressionable and more trusting of your motives Ed, but they would have volunteered.

Speaking of getting stuck straight up your ass. In the glorious 005th District Officers were just informed that there aren’t enough cars or radios to handle the mandated number of officers working this weekend. So what pray tell did the mental midgets at HQ decide for a solution? Shared radios and foot posts along Michigan Ave. No not Downtown Michigan Ave. but 99th-127th Michigan Ave. And the piece de resistance is 2000 hr start with a 0630 check off. Foot posts and horrendous start times should be a real moral booster.

Enjoy your memorial day weekend.

Not surprised. Supervisors do it all the time. Just like when they tell everyone that “headquarters is watching GPS so no ducks.” As they rotate ducking out early with each other every day. Do as I say not as I do. Why else would headquarters remove the viewing page on the OT/Time off system? So POs can’t see the scamming going on. Bosses didn’t like it being visible. Remember, we’re a “transparent” department now.

Ed has proven over and over again what a piece of shit he is. Look what he has done to the command staff. If a white sup did what he did, the community would be screaming racism.

Simple un-volunteer. If they get pissed they can suspend you from volunteering for the the 4th and Labor Day. . Like VRI. If you want the overtime then do it.

We’ll never see a car in 811 anyway. Who cares. My taxes give me zero police presence. Unless I go to Portillo’s, Peaches and Pears, or the east end of the 8th district.

The city doesn’t need to beg for people to work OT, they can just utilize reverse seniority if no in volunteers

The new commander in 08 is spineless Clout hack for years Watch commanders not much better Used to make the kids walk up and down 69th st in the rain stopping cars on foot! Terrible! Doesn't do anything to deter crime

Not sure about 008, but we do try to prepare our people for the inevitable so they can make arrangements for their family. We don't know what the schedule is in the districts until Patrol comes out with it. IT is very possible the commander in 008 planned on having anyone that wanted to work overt-time work, until the order came out saying it was mandatory and the hours...He could also be a stroke, but not knowing him or the district I would give the benefit of the doubt.

yup. Can confirm this. 2000-0630 hrs and on foot in 1 of 4 of the worst corners in the district. Gotta bring the raincoat tonight.

One of the first things you learn in the military is to never volunteer for anything. In my case, the drill sergeant asked for volunteers who knew how to drive a truck. About 75% of my platoon raised their hands, obviously believing that we would be driving trucks. Not! We were then loaded onto a bus and transported to the officers club where we were tasked with cleaning up the locker rooms, picking up used jock straps, and all sorts of other nasty tasks. Never volunteered again.

Funny thing is that they are confident there are enough radios and cars. Last year all of midnights sat in the roll call room because 3rd watch and 3rd watch OT cars had to stay out until released by the commander. So that meant no cars for midnights and midnights ot cars.

Dime the cheating bosses out for defrauding the city and theft of services. The city IG should take reports on theft of services. Call it for what it is. Letters to the overlords of Consent Decree might be a consideration too. Most of these reports would be anonymous. One or two will be blown off for sure. Several hundred informational reports sets up a disturbing and costly trend. We can try the media but your spitting in the wind. No one is looking out for us.

Making our lives more difficult than necessary deserves a responses. Shame and embarrassment still works as long as it causes Lori and Special public Ed heartburn. Remember she's "goodie two shoes". Getting $hit on her shirt tails is embarrassing. Think about it.

I guess Baltimore got fooled too:

The incident occurred as the ransomware attack approaches its third week. The ransomware known as RobbinHood seized control of around 10,000 [Baltimore City] computers belonging to the city on May 7.

This is a dangerous situation. In order to properly and safely carry out the mission the Department must supply officers with appropriate equipment to respond to critical and life threatening situations. Instant communications is the life blood of city services. The city is opening itself to civil liability and severe legal action in life threatening circumstances.

Why are we short on critical equipment, eg, commo, vehicles, etc. More blaring examples of incompetent police management and piss poor planning. This weekend in not an emergency yet Special Ed can't meet mission requirements. Ed how are you going to handle a real city wide emergency lasting more than 48 hours. You're ass is showing again. There is no planning and thought in running this Department. You are a disgrace.

Nothing like good old 003...on a regular day our check off is at 2245hrs for a 1400hr start. It's so miserable there, can't think of seeing 1 happy officer there.
