- A teacher was carjacked at gunpoint Tuesday in the parking lot of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School on the Near West Side.
The woman was getting out of her car in the staff lot in the 100 block of South Laflin at 8:10 a.m. when a teenage boy entered the passenger side of the car, Chicago police and the school said in a statement.
He claimed he was being chased and needed help, the school said. The teen then showed a gun and demanded her phone and purse, the school said. He told her to get out the car and he drove off. The teacher, who is in her 30s, was uninjured.
At 8:10 AM, there should have been early morning gym classes or scenario training going on, right? Anyone know if the instructors are still carrying as they did in the old days?

Detectives recovered the teacher's vehicle and arrested an armed offender with a history of robbery and agg UUW after he fled from the car. If he's identified as the one who did the car-jacking, I'm sure Crimesha will offer him double secret probation.
So what if the instructors are carrying, stay right where the F you are. Nothing good would of happened.
At least she is physically unhurt. I hope she is otherwise unhurt.
The kid was just misunderstood. After is Chicago. And the child was probably a Chicago Public School kid.

Umm, the WY parking lots are way out of sight or hearing from the academy. The last thing anyone at the academy is thinking about is the safety of WY staff.
This is really when you think about it amazing, maybe there were some recruits out there with all the police shows being filmed here maybe they thought it was a scene from the next movie! Then again the thug that did this doesn’t care anything about anybody could care less about the police I know he gets held up and highest team in his community. Many big city school systems all over the country have designated School District Police Departments. I wonder why?

Car was recovered last night one in custody with recovered gun. Bad guy just plead to a gun charge in April and has a robbery background. Unbelievable he was not in jail. (Nice grab by all involved). Media should inquire why this 20 year old angel was walking the streets.
!). That lot is on the southside of the Whitney Young South building. Not really visible from the Police Academy west lot.
2). Most scenario based training (aside from vehicle stops) is in the training buildings or inside the academy.
3). When they go on runs outside, they go toward downtown.
Nothing is near Whitney Young.

There was also a carjacking in River North. Two yutes carjacked a valet and shortly thereafter crashed the car and ran into a building.

According to the eyewitness, the carjacker then pulled out a handgun that another building worker knocked from his hands. Easy now. Some academy warriors haven’t made an arrest this century. Do they still do paper reports? I remember trying to fit 8 names in box 1&2.

Why do the judges keep letting these criminals out on bond. Put them in jail where they belong. Like this person who got probation after kicking a senior citizen in the face on public transportation. I thought the schools didn’t want police officers on campus. And how will cameras increase security? Since nobody is getting prosecuted and all “community members” get minimal to no bail, why would a security camera deter crime? There’s no punishment, even if they are caught.
Time to “cowboy up”, Chicago. The police have been neutered and the prosecutor is refusing to prosecute “people of color”, so you’re on your own. Time to strap on your “shootin’ iron” and prepare to defend yourself against car rustlers and bandits.

I like the robot idea if done right. The Dallas police used a robot strapped with explosives to take out a barricaded sniper who killed several police killer.

If this poor lad had access to free food, free housing, free schooling, free medical care, free transportation to school, a free phone, free access to Chicago’s best museums and once he graduated high school being accepted to some of the best collage programs in the country with significantly (and I mean significantly) inferior grades and test scores over comparable white kids, a free ride through college and once he graduates college, the chance at a choice job in corporate America over his white counterparts, even though he may have significantly inferior college grades, simply because he is from an underrepresented group ..... he would have blossomed into the beautiful human being that God made him. Oh wait ... what was my point?

Boxing used to be on the Girl's curriculum for the New York City schools. Back before tv taught folks that a cop could shoot a gun out of a bad guy's hand, and sibil rahts led to BLM.
