Five brand new Lieutenants going to 006? Not surprising - anyone who can gets out of 006 as soon as possible.
Three going to 011? Were they short? They have more officers and sergeants than any district in the city. Is the new commander driving out the lieutenants that don't transfer to Harvey?

So snelling will stay in 007 for couple periods than tell war stories about all the time he spent in 007 as a po and sgt which totals less than a year. The city needs him to be the expert at all these trials. Such an expert but cant pass a promotional exam. The best is hes an expert because the city says he is.

Oh and how about that fto that he let work in front office for months while still earning fto pay? Take it to the bank that shell be the ne t merit sgt. He still has plenty of other frat brothers to promote though so don't worry if you're one of them. Your time will come.

Roberts isn’t the worst guy; however, if he had any decency he might have done the honorable thing and turned down at least one of his three merit promotions. On second thought, there wasn’t a lot of honor on the mostly merit A4/ VC side of the floor.

There will probably be a few more classes until the next Sgt test is graded and results are sent out. That’s when the current list will expire. Not before. That’s always been a big misconception.

This "multiple merit promotion stuff intrigues me. Would it be possible for the FOP to push push a number limit on this , to say one per individual per career and go with that? Would the regular line/patrol cops have a problem with that? Who started this, who can change it and how hard would it be to change?

I’m so sick of all the crying about the merit process.
We have much better issues to worry about!
Get over it all ready! Believe it or not we are in one of the very few professions where you can score high enough on a test for a promotion. Most professions it’s all “Merit” or who you know, who you blow, who you’re related to, and just like in our job the few who get promoted because of their work ethic.
In every profession it's basically 10% supervisors and 90% worker bees (wild guess on the actual percentage but that is pretty close). Basically, statistically speaking those of us who are actually lucky enough to get this job won’t be getting promoted.
Right off the top, thousands apply and take the test for CPD when it is offered, way more than half don’t make it. Fact!
A lot of those who do make it past all the different steps don’t make it before they scrap the list and have to do it all over again. A lot of those people don’t.
Bottom line is those of us who did make it and have been putting our selfs on the line every day need to stop and look at where we are and what is really important. We are union, we have been with out a contract for years, the city has been violating the existing contract that we are still honoring for years.
We didn’t get shit for a raise last contract, yet prices on everything have gone up in crook county Illinois. The new Mayor who literally has no political experience has accused us to some crazy shit in the press! Obviously she plans on fucking us!
We need to all stick together, watch each other’s back, and stop hating on each other!.

You just wanted to get up there and screw a guy that knew more than you and was in the trenches under stress at the time for the promotion you were promised if you did so. No one else would take the bait but the guy that can’t pass a promotion test did. This has to stop! Just give him the free-be and put him back in the academy.

No way Snelling wanted to get up there and screw a guy. In the trial of the three the judge used some of his testimony during her explanation of why she acquitted the three.

I'm not sure why you hate Snelling so much but if you knew anything, you'd know this entire paragraph is bullshit. He does nothing but look out for the police. Go ahead an knock it when you never even testify at a fucking drop case before it gets dismissed. Why don't you try doing something that the DEPARTMENT makes you do....testify as a expert because the exempt staff is too stupid to testify to. This while coppers' lives and livelihoods depend on it.
