Mexico City with population of 9 million is taking action with increase of crime, in May 2018 there were 98 homicides, 2019 saw 157. New Mayor decided to increase police salaries and hired 3,000 new officers. The police force is planning to increase the number of officers by almost 50 percent, to 24,000.
I'm not saying Mexico is the greatest place on earth to live in, but at least they have the balls to take action. I don't think "restorative justice" translates in spanish, closest word is "pendejos".

The broken windows theory in New York under their great mayor Rudy Giuliani worked extremely well, this is where you start like them up for bullshit like this and then for the major crimes you put them away for years and years any gun crimes put them away throw away the key but that will never happen here make an example. In such situations I strongly go with the idea that we must present Singapore style rules and punishments. The offenders get stripped to their underwear and beaten by a Chinese martial artist with a cane.

Though tough, no nonsense New York and LA police chiefs and rank in file police deserve great credit for dramatically reducing the shootings, murders and other violent crime from the late 1980s early 90s, other factors are involved in the drastic reduction in murders in their cities.
It's become reality that the Black criminal underclass has been "ethnically cleansed" from almost all parts of LA and Manhattan/Brooklyn NY. Spike Lee throws public temper tantrums when anyone mentions the positive, reduction of crime in his childhood neighborhoods of Bed Stuy and Fort Green Brooklyn.
Also note that the sane, crime free days of NYC under Mayor Guliani and Mayor Bloomberg are no longer in place under the current Sandinista Castro Communist/BlackLiesMatter mayor Diblassio. This mayor is married to a Black Lesbian BlackLiesmatter "activists" and the mayor turned over ~ $400 million to his lesbian wife for something to do with mental health though nobody can find out what she did with the $.
One terrible sign of the NYC times is that the "powers that be" are lying, rewriting history to deny some of the worst criminal atrocities of the late 1980s, early 90s such as the Central Park Wilding attacks, gang rape and near murder of the Central Park Woman jogger.

Never going to happen. Bosses have to have spots to take care of their gf’s, kids, friendsetc
12% raise then and to not lose anything on our contract, but gain better health care.
I’m confused ... our murder rates skyrocket during the warm months and tempers down in the freezing winter but LA has warm/mild weather all year long ... shouldn’t they have more murder opportunities than Chiraq?

I said it on here before. I'm a retiree who is familiar with the FOIA process. Hire me and I'll file FOIA requests with the CCSAO for every UUW, and other assorted felony arrests and prepare a monthly report to be issued to the media and published on the FOP website so the citizens can see what is happening. My annual salary would be cheaper than the annual golf outing expenditures! Call me Kevin.

Based on the above data provided by SCC on this topic and the number of murders for the first half of 2019 (times two for the second half of the year), the annual murder rate per 100,000 population of the three most populous cities in the nation follows:
New York City...3.1 murders per 100,000 population
Los Angeles.....4.4 murders per 100,000 population
CHICAGO......18.6 murders per 100,000 population
With hot humid summer weather imminent, consider these projected 2019 murder rates as minimal.
Based on an identical algorithm. the CPD's 11th District would have a 2019 murder rate in excess of 100.0.

Add the poverty statistics and it gets even more interesting:
NY = 19.6 %
LA = 20.4 %
Chicago = 20.6 %
Chicago's poverty rate is similar to the other 2 cities. Based on these numbers, poverty can't be the reason our murder rate is so much higher than the NY and LA.

It's dangerous to work in the Chicago Police Department. What percentage did those 2 mentioned cities receive ftom their union contract negotiation? How young can they retire with health benefits? This is important to know when applying for a police job. Otherwise, there are better jobs out there that are safer.
