Nice Lakefront Lori
- Seven people were left with injuries after two groups exchanged gunfire outside Theater on the Lake in the Lincoln Park neighborhood early Saturday morning.
According to Chicago police, a “group of individuals” was walking toward the lakefront while another group was leaving at about 3:30 a.m., near the intersection of Fullerton Avenue and Lake Shore Drive. A verbal altercation broke out between the groups and escalated to gunfire, with individuals from both groups firing handguns at one another.
Seven individuals were struck by gunfire and transported to area hospitals, police said, and Area North detectives are currently investigating.

When I worked a lakefront district on 1st watch, the first thing we did out of roll call was to head to the lakefront and shut it down. When we did that we had no problems the rest of the night. We went back a few times during our tour just to shag those that didn't get the message but that was it. When we got busy and couldn't get there right out of roll call, we always had problems all night long. I don't know why but that's the way it was. Point of the story is you have to shut it down right from the get go.

Are you just plain stupid ? Morons like you just automatically think that having a gun is gonna keep you safe. Far from it. You all watch too much television and have no clue or grasp of reality. Life is just not that simple that having a gun cancels out some lowlifes having guns that they will use on you. These jackals will be on you in the blink of an eye, because they have been stalking you un-noticed, and there's no way in the real world you are gonna be able to draw a gun, fire, and successfully hit and stop them before they inflict serious or fatal damage to you or a friend you are with. The City should rent out Soldier Field and hold gang fights of the week, followed by gang fights of the month, and the monthly winners advance to a gang fight off at the end of the year. Anything goes. Proceeds go to fund Shriners Hospitals for Children on Oak Park Ave. The gang that wins the yearly title of Meanest of Chicago Gangs will go on to represent Chicago in The Nationals facing other championship gangs from other cities. Park security is lucky if they have one car, riding 99 no back up, no radio covering the whole lakefront on 1st watch. No need to FOIA the fact that the city has cut the budget on park security guards while raising the budget on “supervisors” to benefit the clouted. What would you like them to do? Supervisor Don might be around, barely alive and barely able to breathe voluntarily unarmed... shift your blame to where it belongs.
